Quality and Warranty
24-month guarantee, 30-day returns.
This page explains what that means for you in ordinary words. The formal terms, which are the ones that count in a dispute, are on the warranty page. Nothing here narrows anything there, and nothing anywhere narrows your rights under the law.
What we check before a part reaches you
- The part is drawn against the OE number on your order, and the number on the part is checked against the number you ordered before it is packed.
- It is inspected for visible damage and obvious defects.
- It is packed for a long journey and declared correctly for customs.
Most parts problems are identification problems rather than manufacturing problems, which is why the number check matters more than any inspection we could perform. How we source explains the rest of the chain.
Two layers of cover
You have two separate things protecting you. They work independently, and you can rely on either.
Layer one: your rights under the law
Wherever you live, the law gives you rights if a part was not as it should have been when it reached you. In the European Union that is at least two years of statutory conformity rights from delivery, and longer in several countries: three years in Spain, Portugal and Sweden, for example. In Norway it is five years for goods of this kind. Elsewhere the period is whatever your own country provides, and the Your Rights by Country page sets it out market by market.
These rights are yours by law. We attach no conditions to them, we cannot sign them away, and nothing we write on this site reduces them. You do not need to have bought anything extra, registered anything or kept any paperwork beyond proof that you bought the part from us.
In the European Union, for at least the first year the law assumes a fault that appears was there at delivery unless it is shown otherwise. In several countries that period is two years, for example Spain, Portugal, France, Belgium, Poland and Sweden. Once it ends, the law would normally put that on you to demonstrate.
Layer two: the EVParto guarantee
On top of your legal rights, we give a voluntary guarantee of 24 months. It is ours, we chose to offer it, and it applies everywhere we sell.
What it adds. Where your law presumes a fault existed at delivery for only one year, or six months in the United Kingdom, we do not rely on the end of that period. For the full 24 months we assess your claim on its merits rather than asking you to prove that the fault existed at delivery. Where your law already gives you a two-year presumption, the guarantee adds nothing to it and your statutory rights are the stronger ones.
What it covers. A part that fails in normal use because of a defect in material or manufacture. A part that was made wrong, or fails in a way a sound part of that type would not.
What it does not cover.
- Labour, fitting and removal costs, workshop invoices, and consequential loss such as loss of use, a hire car, recovery or missed work. The guarantee covers the part. We sell parts and we do not fit them, and we would rather state that limit here than bury it. This limit applies to the guarantee only. It does not limit your statutory rights, which can include the cost of removing a faulty part and fitting a replacement.
- Normal wear from use. Parts that rub, heat, load or cycle wear out, and a worn part is doing what it was designed to do. Wear is not a defect.
- Damage caused by an underlying fault elsewhere on the vehicle. A new part destroyed by the same fault that killed the last one is a diagnosis problem, not a part problem.
- Damage from incorrect fitting, wrong torque, or fitting without the new fasteners or seals the manufacturer specifies.
- Accident damage, external damage, and transit damage reported outside the window in the returns policy.
- Modification, and use in competition or off-road events.
- Continued use after a fault appeared. Stopping promptly protects both the claim and, more importantly, the vehicle.
Fitting the part yourself does not void anything. We do not require workshop fitting and we do not ask for a workshop invoice as a condition of a claim. We only ask that the part was fitted correctly. Where it was not, that is what we say, rather than pointing at who held the spanner.
Which layer applies to you
You do not have to choose or work it out. Tell us what happened and we apply whichever route gets you the better outcome. In most cases they point the same way. The guarantee exists to make the second year as workable as the first, not to replace anything the law already gives you.
How a claim works
- Stop using the part. Continuing to run a failing component usually makes the damage worse.
- Get it out and keep it. The part itself is the evidence. Do not scrap it.
- Gather what you have: your order number, and photographs of the part showing the fault and, where you can, the OE number on it. If a workshop fitted it and wrote something down, send that too, but it is not a requirement.
- Write to contact@evparto.com with "WARRANTY" and your order number in the subject line. Tell us what the symptom was, roughly how far or how long the part ran, and what was found. A line from a workshop is worth a page of description, if you have one.
- We acknowledge within 24 hours, usually sooner, and tell you what happens next. Most claims are decided on the photographs.
- If we need the part back, we send return instructions and we pay the carriage in both directions. Do not send anything back before we ask, because an unannounced parcel is difficult to match to a claim and may be refused at the border.
- Outcome. Where the claim is upheld we repair the part, replace it or refund it, at our choice after examining it. We tell you which and why. Where it is not upheld, we explain the reason in writing and return the part to you if you want it back.
If you disagree with our decision
Write to contact@evparto.com with "Complaint" in the subject line. We acknowledge within 24 hours, usually sooner, and decide within 14 days. That does not affect your statutory rights, or your right to go to a court or a consumer body where you live.
If the part was simply wrong
That is not a warranty matter and it is faster. If we sent the wrong part, or the part is not what the listing described, tell us and we correct it at our cost. If you have changed your mind, the 30-day return route covers you. Warranty is for a correct part that has failed.
Both price tiers carry the same cover
Original / Genuine and Aftermarket parts get the same 24 months and the same treatment. The difference between them is who made the part and to whose specification, not what happens if it fails. See Original or aftermarket.
Safety information
Product safety details, including the information required for goods offered in the European Union, appear on each product page and on the product safety page. If a part carries fitting warnings or handling requirements, they are stated with the part rather than buried here.
Questions before you buy
If you want to know what cover a specific part carries, or which price tier suits a particular job, ask us before you order. It is a two-minute conversation and it prevents most of the ones that come later.
Cannot find what you need on this page? Send the OE number and we quote it the same day, or ask over WhatsApp and we answer with the part in front of us.
