Shipping policy

Version 5.3, 24 October 2026. This policy explains how we dispatch parts from Hong Kong, what delivery costs, how long it takes, and who pays import taxes.

It forms part of our Terms of Service and should be read with clauses 4, 6, 7 and 10 of those terms. Nothing here reduces the rights your national law gives you as a consumer.

1. Where we ship from, and to

Every order is dispatched from Hong Kong. We ship to most countries. The countries we can reach, and the price for your basket, are worked out at checkout by our own rate engine against live carrier tables, so what you see is what the lane actually costs plus our handling.

If checkout shows no delivery option for your address, one of these is true:

  • no carrier we use accepts consignments to that country at present;
  • your basket exceeds a weight, size or declared value ceiling on every lane that reaches you;
  • the goods in your basket are in a class that the lanes serving your country refuse;
  • we have suspended the destination for legal or carrier reasons.

Ask us at contact@evparto.com and we will tell you which of those it is and whether a quoted route exists.

United Kingdom. UK orders go through checkout once the goods in the basket are above £135 (UK VAT rule, see 5.3).

Places we do not deliver to. American Samoa, Alaska, military post addresses (APO and FPO), Ceuta, Melilla, Heligoland, Büsingen am Hochrhein, Livigno, Campione d'Italia and Mount Athos. Checkout offers no delivery option for an address there.

2. Handling and dispatch

  • Chinese New Year closes most of the trade for about a week each year and we publish the dates on the site in advance.
  • You receive a dispatch confirmation with a tracking number. That confirmation is also the moment the contract is formed, under clause 3 of our Terms of Service.
  • Where an order contains several items and one is delayed, we normally dispatch the rest rather than hold the order, and you pay no second delivery charge for the split.

3. Transit times

Delivery estimates vary by destination and are shown per country on the product page and at checkout. Every delivery figure we give is in calendar days. They are estimates, not guarantees. The estimate shown at checkout for your own address is the one to rely on, because it is calculated for the actual lane your parcel will take.

Customs clearance adds anything from a few hours to several days, and occasionally longer where an authority selects a consignment for examination. That time is outside our control and outside the carrier's.

The 30 day rule. Where you are a consumer and we have not agreed a delivery date with you, we deliver without undue delay and in any event within 30 days of the contract being formed. That is Article 18 of Directive 2011/83/EU and the equivalent rules elsewhere. If we miss it, give us a short additional period, and if we miss that you may cancel and be refunded in full, including delivery.

4. Delivery charges

Delivery is priced per consignment, by destination, chargeable weight and service. It is shown in your basket before you pay, and it is calculated by the same engine that prices our feeds, so the figure never changes between the product page and checkout.

Chargeable weight is the greater of the actual weight and the volumetric weight. Volumetric weight is length times width times height in centimetres, divided by the carrier's divisor for that lane. A bumper cover weighs little and costs a lot to send, and that is why.

Product pages show approximate packaging dimensions and a weight band, which is enough to judge what a part will cost to ship. Exact figures are used internally to price the lane.

5. Import taxes and duties

This is the part that catches people out, so it is set out in full.

5.1 European Union, orders of EUR 150 or less

  • We are registered under the Import One Stop Shop.
  • Prices shown to EU customers include the VAT of the delivery country.
  • The flat EUR 3 customs duty that applies to distance sales to consumers in consignments up to EUR 150 is charged per commodity code, meaning once for each group of goods sharing the same six-digit Harmonised System heading, not once per item. Five of the same part carry one charge of EUR 3. Five different part types on five different codes carry five. We collect it at checkout inside the delivery price, and on some services it is already part of the carrier's own freight charge. The exception is UPS Express, where UPS collects the EUR 3 duty from you on delivery.
  • Because we account for these to the tax authority, the carrier should not ask you for anything on delivery, apart from the EUR 3 duty on a UPS Express delivery. If one asks for anything else, do not pay. Send the paperwork to contact@evparto.com and we will sort it out and reimburse anything you have already paid.

5.2 European Union, orders above EUR 150

  • The Import One Stop Shop cannot be used above EUR 150. The price you pay us excludes import VAT and customs duty, and checkout says so.
  • You are the importer of record. The carrier collects import VAT, any customs duty and its own clearance fee from you on or before delivery. Those are charges levied on you by your own country. We do not receive them.
  • The EUR 150 threshold applies to the whole order, also when it travels as several parcels, and we do not split an order to bring it under that threshold.
  • We declare goods honestly at the price paid. We do not under-declare and we do not mark goods as gifts or samples. Asking us to is asking us to commit an offence, and we will refuse.

5.3 United Kingdom

UK orders are placed through checkout once the goods in the basket, delivery excluded, are above £135. At or below £135 UK law requires the seller to charge UK VAT when the goods are sold, and we are not registered for UK VAT, so checkout does not open for those baskets: you can add parts, or ask us for a delivered price by quote. Above £135 the normal UK import rules apply and import VAT and customs duty are due when the goods enter the UK. With the postal delivery options they are collected from you on delivery by Royal Mail or the carrier, together with its handling fee. With UPS we prepay them to the carrier for you: the estimated amount is included in the delivery price shown at checkout, and nothing further is collected from you on delivery.

5.4 Everywhere else

Prices exclude import taxes unless checkout says otherwise for your country. Import VAT or sales tax, customs duty, excise, brokerage and clearance fees are assessed against you as importer of record. Rates and thresholds are set by your own country and change without reference to us. Check what your country charges before you order if the amount matters to you.

Some destinations need your tax identification number, personal identification number or customs registration before a consignment can clear. If a carrier or a broker asks you for it, answer promptly. A consignment that cannot clear is returned or destroyed, and section 8 explains what happens then.

6. What we cannot ship

Certain vehicle parts are dangerous goods for transport, and no carrier lane available to us from Hong Kong will accept them.

  • Airbag modules and inflators and seatbelt pretensioners, which contain a pyrotechnic charge.
  • Gas-charged struts, dampers and accumulators, which contain compressed gas.

These are shown as inquiry-only on the site, with no add to basket. We would rather say so on the product page than take your money and fail at the loading dock. Ask us and we will tell you whether a compliant route exists for your country.

Lithium cells. A small number of parts contain a lithium cell, including certain key fobs and tyre pressure monitoring modules. These travel under battery transport rules and may be restricted to inquiry-only in some markets, both for transport reasons and because national battery registration is required before they can be placed on that market.

Lane ceilings. Every carrier lane has its own weight ceiling, size ceiling and sometimes a declared value ceiling, and they differ by destination country, not just by carrier. Where your basket exceeds the ceiling on every lane serving your address, checkout shows no rate. Splitting the order into smaller consignments usually solves it, and we will help you do that.

7. Tracking, delivery and what happens at the door

  • Every consignment is tracked. The dispatch confirmation carries the number and the carrier.
  • Tracking can sit still for several days while a consignment is on an aircraft, in a consolidation centre or with customs. That is normal and is not a sign of a problem.
  • Delivery is complete when the goods are handed to you or to someone at the address, or left where you told the carrier to leave them. If you instruct a carrier to leave a parcel in a safe place, the risk of what happens to it there is yours.
  • Give a complete address, a working telephone number and an email address. Costs caused by an incorrect or incomplete address, including redirection, storage, return and re-dispatch, are yours.
  • Risk. For consumers, risk passes when you take physical possession, under Article 20 of Directive 2011/83/EU. For business customers, risk passes when the goods are handed to the first carrier in Hong Kong. Ownership stays with us until we have been paid in full.

8. Lost, delayed, refused and returned consignments

Delayed. If the estimate has passed and tracking has stopped, tell us. We open a carrier investigation, which usually takes 7 to 21 days.

Lost. Once a consignment is confirmed lost we dispatch a replacement or refund you in full, as you prefer. You do not have to wait for the carrier to pay us.

Damaged. Tell us within 7 days with photographs of the outer packaging, the label and the goods, and keep the packaging until the claim closes. Our Returns and Refunds policy sets out the rest.

Refused or uncollected. If you refuse a delivery, decline to pay import charges you owe as importer of record, or leave a consignment uncollected until the carrier returns it, the goods come back to us. Refusing or not collecting a parcel is not by itself a withdrawal. You bear the cost of the return: we pay the carrier and deduct it from your refund. Unless you have withdrawn within your statutory period, we also deduct the original outbound carriage and any storage, duty or destruction charge passed to us. If you have withdrawn, you still bear the direct cost of return and we refund the standard outbound delivery. We bear the cost only where the goods are faulty, damaged or not what you ordered, or where you were asked for charges on an EU order of EUR 150 or less that we should have collected at checkout.

9. Events outside our control

Weather, port and airport closures, industrial action, carrier network failure, customs backlogs, sanctions and government action can all stop a consignment. We tell you when we know, we do what we reasonably can, and if a delay becomes substantial you may cancel the undelivered part of the order and be refunded. Clause 24.5 of our Terms of Service sets this out.

10. Packaging and battery take-back

Regulation (EU) 2025/40 on packaging and packaging waste applies to goods we place on the EU market, and we appoint an authorised representative for packaging in the member states we sell to. Used packaging and used batteries can be returned to us free of charge. The route, and our national registration numbers as they are issued, are on our Packaging and Battery Take-back page. Batteries never go in household waste.

11. Contact

Questions about a delivery, a lane, a customs charge or a country we do not yet reach go to contact@evparto.com, with your order number if you have one. We acknowledge within 24 hours, usually sooner.
