Frequently Asked Questions: OE 14685224-00
How do I know this is the right side for my car?
Yes, this listing is for the left front door strip only, not the right. Left and right strips are listed separately here, so treat them as different parts rather than mirror images of each other. Take the strip off your car, or look at where it is currently fitted, and match its position and fixings against the door you intend to replace it on. Check the side, the position and the fixings on your own car before you order, since that confirms fit more reliably than relying on the OE number alone.
Will this fit my car if it is not exactly a Yuan UP?
This strip is listed for the BYD Yuan UP only. No other model is given for it, so if your car is a different model, or one that seems close to the Yuan UP, treat it as unconfirmed rather than assumed. Use the quote route on this page to send a photograph of the old part and its OE number, so we can check fitment against your exact car before you order. This is the safest way to confirm fit when only one model is listed and yours is not an exact match.
What is the difference between the quality options for this part?
This particular listing is for the genuine BYD version of the strip, not an aftermarket copy. Only one quality tier is listed for this part, so there is no aftermarket alternative to choose between here. It is supplied new, made of plastic and finished in black. Have a look at the photographs on this page to see the exact finish and shape before you order, since that is the best way to check it against the trim currently on your door.
The number on my old part is different, is this still the right one?
If the number on your old part does not match 14685224-00, do not rule this strip out straight away. It is also listed under the reference SC3E-5402710, so check your old part against that number as well before you look elsewhere. Compare both numbers against what is stamped or printed on the strip you are removing. If either one matches, this is the correct replacement, and if neither does, this is not the right strip for your car.
Does this trim strip need painting to match my car?
Black plastic is the only finish listed for this strip, so there is nothing further to paint before fitting it. What you see here is what arrives, ready to fit as it stands. Before you fit it, check the number stamped on the part you are removing against 14685224-00, so you can be sure this is the correct strip for your door rather than one that only looks similar. That check is the most reliable way to confirm you have the right part before it goes on the car.
