BYD Parts

Every BYD model sits in one catalogue, matched by factory OE number rather than badge or model year, because BYD keeps splitting each nameplate into EV and plug-in hybrid versions under names that change by market. Confirm the powertrain and the OE number before ordering, since those decide fitment, not what the badge on the boot says.

About BYD Parts

Anyone searching for BYD parts usually owns a car from a range that has grown very quickly and now carries different names in different countries. BYD Auto is the car-making arm of BYD Company Limited. It was set up in January 2003 after the group bought Xi'an Qinchuan Automobile, and its first own design, the petrol F3, went into production in 2005. In China the BYD badge covers two ranges sold through separate dealer channels. The Dynasty series began with the Qin plug-in hybrid in 2013 and uses the Qin, Han, Song, Tang and Yuan names. The Ocean series followed in 2021 with the Dolphin, then the Seal, Seagull and Sealion. Denza, Fangchengbao and Yangwang are separate brands in the same group, and each has its own models.

The range runs from the Seagull city car and the Dolphin hatchback through the Seal and Han saloons and the Seal 6 DM-i Touring estate to SUVs such as the Atto 3, Seal U and Sealion 7, and the Shark 6 pickup. Most come as battery-electric cars, DM-i plug-in hybrids or both. BYD arrived in Norway in 2021 and the UK in March 2023, and it now sells across Europe, Australia and New Zealand, South Africa, Japan, South-east Asia and Latin America. Many cars have also been imported privately. Buyers in the UK, Australia and Europe therefore search by model as well as by brand, asking for BYD Seal parts, BYD Dolphin parts or parts for the BYD Atto 3.

Most of the BYD spare parts that owners and workshops order are service and repair items: cabin filters, wiper blades, brake pads and discs, and the 12-volt battery. After a minor accident they usually need bumpers, grilles, body panels, headlamps and tail lamps, often with parking sensors and cameras as well. Suspension arms and bushes, cooling parts for the battery and cabin circuits, and control modules make up much of the rest. A DM-i hybrid adds engine items such as oil filters, spark plugs and engine cooling parts.

Mistakes usually start when a part is ordered by badge. In Europe the Seal 6 DM-i is the car sold in China as the Seal 06 DM-i, but in Malaysia, Singapore and Thailand the Seal 6 badge is used on the Qin L EV. The Seagull is sold as the Dolphin Surf in Europe, the Atto 1 in Australia and the Dolphin Mini in Latin America, and the European car has a longer body. Genuine BYD parts carry an OE number, printed on a label or moulded into the part, and that number is the fitment check. Find it on your old part and type it into the search.

What to know before buying BYD parts

First, work out exactly which car you have, because BYD's export names change from market to market. The Atto 3 is the Yuan Plus in China. The Seal U and the Sealion 6 are both the Song Plus, the Sealion 7 is the Sealion 07 EV, and the Atto 2 is the Yuan Up. One badge can also cover different cars. Seal 6 means the Seal 06 DM-i in Europe, Australia and New Zealand but the Qin L EV in Malaysia, Singapore and Thailand.

Next, confirm the powertrain. Many nameplates come as both a battery-electric car and a DM-i plug-in hybrid, and the Han and Tang have also been sold as DM and DM-p versions. Engine, fuel and exhaust parts apply only to the hybrids, and underbody and thermal parts can differ between the two versions. Treat each version as a separate car until the OE number shows otherwise.

Then check where the car falls in its model life. The Song Plus got a restyled front and rear with Seal-style headlamps in June 2023. The Atto 3 got a redesigned front bumper in early 2025, the China-market Dolphin was restyled and lengthened in March 2025, and the Han's 2024 refresh gave every version the same front end. Lamps, bumpers and grilles from before and after changes like these are not interchangeable. If a part changed partway through production, compare the build date on the car's identification plate with the dates on the listing.

The platform generation matters too. The China-market Sealion 07 EV uses e-Platform 3.0 Evo. Export Sealion 7s mostly use e-Platform 3.0, but the top European version with the 91.3 kWh battery is on the Evo platform as well. Earlier Atto 3s are front-wheel drive, but the Atto 3 Evo, sold in Europe from early 2026, uses an 800-volt version of e-Platform 3.0 with rear or all-wheel drive. A second-generation Seagull, announced in 2026, is larger than the first and moves from front-wheel to rear-wheel drive, so its parts will not match the first-generation car. The same name on either side of a change like this can mean different parts underneath.

The wider group needs care as well. The Denza B5 and B8 sold abroad are the Fangchengbao Bao 5 and Bao 8, and Denza and Yangwang cars have their own parts. If you drive one of these, start from that brand rather than a BYD model.

If your car was imported, expect differences between the China-market and export versions of the same model. The European Dolphin Surf is longer and taller than the China-market Seagull and has more powerful motors and faster charging. The export Dolphin was lengthened by about 20 cm to take a new front crash structure designed for a five-star ANCAP rating, and the China-market car's March 2025 facelift brought it to 4,280 mm against the export car's 4,290 mm. Left and right hand drive cars also differ in some parts, but you do not have to work that out yourself. The OE number on the old part settles it, so take the number from the part you are replacing rather than matching a catalogue picture.

BYD Platforms and Shared Parts

Most current battery-electric BYDs are built on e-Platform 3.0, launched in 2021, which underpins the Dolphin, the first-generation Seagull, the front-wheel-drive Atto 3 built from 2022, the Seal and the Atto 2. The Atto 3 Evo, launched in Europe in early 2026, uses a revised 800-volt version of e-Platform 3.0 with rear or all-wheel drive in place of front-wheel drive. An updated version, e-Platform 3.0 Evo, is used on the China-market Sealion 07 EV, the top European Sealion 7 with the 91.3 kWh battery, the second-generation Yuan Plus and China-market Seals from 2024. Other export Sealion 7s stay on e-Platform 3.0. The first Han EV uses the older e-Platform 2.0. In 2025 BYD launched the Super e-Platform, with a 1,000-volt architecture, on the Han L and Tang L.

The plug-in hybrids use BYD's DM systems. The original DM powered the first Qin and Tang and the Han DM. From 2021 the fourth generation came in two versions, DM-i for economy and DM-p for performance. The fifth generation, DM-i 5.0, arrived in 2024 on the Qin L and Seal 06 DM-i. The Shark 6 pickup is different again, with a body-on-frame design and the DMO off-road hybrid drivetrain. BYD's LFP Blade battery is used across the electric range, and on the Seal it forms part of the body structure, a design known as cell-to-body. The DiSus body control systems can be fitted to some Han and Tang models and appear on Denza and Yangwang cars.

For parts, cars on the same platform generation can share hidden hardware, while a new generation usually brings new numbers, even on a familiar nameplate. The OE number on the old part settles it.

Finding the OE Number on a BYD Part

The OE number is the reference BYD gives each part. On most parts it is printed on a label or moulded into the plastic or metal, usually on a face you cannot see once the part is fitted, such as the back of a bumper or a lamp housing. Labels often carry other codes as well, including supplier numbers and barcodes, so if you are unsure which line is the OE number, photograph the whole label. Copy the number exactly, including any letters. A part that has been replaced before may carry an older or newer number than the one fitted at the factory. BYD can also supersede a number with a revised part, so a listing may show a different number from the one on your part. Type your number into the search. If nothing comes up, send the photo through the quote form and we reply within 24 hours, usually sooner.

Before You Order: 8 Checks

  1. Find out the China-market name behind your export badge, since BYD names vary by country, and note both names down.
  2. Check the badge for EV, DM-i or DM-p, then choose listings for that powertrain only.
  3. Find the OE number printed or moulded on the old part and type it into the search.
  4. Find out whether the car was built before or after a facelift, then compare the build date on the identification plate with the listing.
  5. If the car was imported privately, find out which market it was first sold in, then match the OE number from the old part.
  6. If your number has been superseded, follow the listing to the newer number and order that part.
  7. For a Denza, Fangchengbao or Yangwang car, go to that brand's hub page first.
  8. For high-voltage battery, motor or inverter work, book an electrically qualified workshop before you order.

Why BYD Parts Supply Is Different

Outside China, BYD cars sold through official dealers are supported by local parts stock. In Europe, BYD runs parts warehouses in the Netherlands, Sweden and the UK to supply its dealer workshops. That stock is built around the versions each market sells. A privately imported China-market car, a model never offered locally or a variant with a different body length may not be covered by it, even when a close relative is on sale nearby.

Part numbers change because BYD keeps revising its cars during production. Facelifts, the move from the fourth-generation DM-i to DM-i 5.0 and the switch to e-Platform 3.0 Evo on some models all bring new parts. When a revised part replaces an older one on the same cars, it gets a new OE number that supersedes the earlier one. If you search the old number, you should still reach the current part.

Sharing depends on the hardware. The same e-Platform 3.0 sits under the Dolphin, the first-generation Seagull, the front-wheel-drive Atto 3 and the Seal, and the plug-in hybrids share the DM-i system. As a result, some parts you cannot see can carry the same number across several models. The Atto 3 Evo is a different case, with an 800-volt version of the platform and rear or all-wheel drive. Bumpers, lamps, glass, trim and interior panels are designed for one model, and often for one market, so they rarely cross over. A part that looks identical on two BYDs can still carry a different number.

For a buyer, this means the OE number on the old part is the one reference that stays reliable across markets and model years. Search that number first. If it does not come up, or comes up with a different number next to it, send it through the quote form and we reply within 24 hours, usually sooner.

BYD Parts: Frequently Asked Questions

Are these genuine BYD parts?

Each listing says whether the part is Original/Genuine, meaning it was made for BYD under the BYD OE number, or Aftermarket, meaning another manufacturer made it to fit the same OE number. You can see which it is before you order. EVParto is an independent parts seller covering several marques and is not affiliated with or endorsed by BYD Company Limited. The BYD name appears only to show which cars a part fits. Check the label on each listing, then choose the type that suits the job.

Why does my BYD have a different name from the one in the parts catalogue?

BYD sells most models under one name in China and another abroad, and the export name can vary between countries. The Yuan Plus is the Atto 3. The Song Plus is the Seal U in Europe and the Sealion 6 in Australia, and the Sealion 07 EV is the Sealion 7. The Seagull is sold as the Dolphin Surf in Europe, the Atto 1 in Australia and the Dolphin Mini in Latin America. Check the aliases on each model hub, then confirm the part by its OE number.

I have a BYD Seal 6. Which car is that?

That depends on where the car was first sold. In Europe, Australia and New Zealand, the Seal 6 DM-i is the plug-in hybrid sold in China as the Seal 06 DM-i. It comes as a saloon and as an estate called the Seal 6 DM-i Touring. In Malaysia, Singapore and Thailand, the Seal 6 badge is used on the Qin L EV, a battery-electric saloon. The two cars share a name and little else. Look for DM-i on the badge, then take the OE number from the old part before you order.

How do I find the OE number on a BYD part?

Look for a printed label or a number moulded into the part, usually on a face you cannot see once it is fitted. Clean the area gently if it is dirty, and copy every character exactly, letters included. Labels can also carry supplier codes and barcodes, so if you are not sure which line is the OE number, photograph the whole label. Type the number into the search at the top of the page. If nothing comes up, send the photo through the quote form.

What does it mean when my OE number has been superseded?

BYD sometimes replaces a part with a revised version during production or at a facelift. The revised part gets a new OE number, which takes over from the old one for the same cars. When you search your old number, the listing may show the newer number instead, and that is the part to order. If a newer part suits only later cars, the listing says so. If the numbers look unrelated or you are not sure, send both through the quote form and we will confirm which one fits.

Do BYD parts interchange between models?

Some do. Models on the same platform, such as the Dolphin, first-generation Seagull, front-wheel-drive Atto 3 and Seal on e-Platform 3.0, can share hidden parts such as suspension components. The Atto 3 Evo from 2026 uses an 800-volt version with rear or all-wheel drive, so do not expect its drivetrain parts to match earlier cars. DM-i hybrids share parts of the hybrid system. Visible parts such as bumpers, lamps, glass and trim are designed for one model and often for one market. Search your OE number and read the fitment list before you order.

Is a China-market BYD the same as the export version?

Often not in the details. The European Dolphin Surf is longer and taller than the China-market Seagull and has more powerful motors and faster charging. The export Dolphin gained about 20 cm for a front crash structure aimed at a five-star ANCAP rating. The China-market Sealion 07 EV uses e-Platform 3.0 Evo. Export Sealion 7s mostly use e-Platform 3.0, but the top European version with the 91.3 kWh battery uses the Evo platform. Bumpers, lamps and charging parts are where the differences usually show. Take the OE number from the part on your car and order by that number.

My BYD is a private or grey import. Can I still get parts?

Yes, and the OE number matters even more for an imported car. A car brought over privately from China is often a China-market version, and a local dealer may not stock its parts even if a similar model is sold locally. Its body, lighting and charging parts can differ from the local version. Take the OE number from the old part and search it here. If the part is not listed, send the number and a photo of the label through the quote form.

Does left or right hand drive change the part I need?

For some parts it does. Dashboards, steering parts, wiper systems, headlamps and some trim can differ between left and right hand drive cars, while many mechanical and service parts are the same. You do not have to work out which is which. The OE number on the part from your car already reflects how the car was built, and where the right hand drive part differs it carries its own number. Read the number off the old part and search for that.

Which parts do BYD owners replace most often?

Service items come first: cabin filters, wiper blades, brake pads and discs, and the 12-volt battery that powers the car's electronics. DM-i plug-in hybrids add oil filters, spark plugs and engine cooling parts. After minor accidents, owners usually need bumpers, grilles, lamps, parking sensors and cameras. Suspension arms and bushes need replacing with age and mileage. Whatever the part, identify it by the OE number on the old one and search for that number.

How do Denza, Fangchengbao and Yangwang relate to BYD?

They are separate brands within the BYD group. Denza began in 2010 as a joint venture between BYD and Daimler and is now under BYD's control. Fangchengbao makes off-road models, and Yangwang makes the group's flagship cars. Some Fangchengbao models are sold abroad under the Denza name, for example the Denza B5 and B8, which are the Bao 5 and Bao 8. Each brand has its own parts, so start from that brand's hub page and search by OE number.

Do you cover BYD DM-i plug-in hybrids as well as electric models?

Yes. BYD sells many nameplates as both a battery-electric car and a DM-i plug-in hybrid, and the Han and Tang have also come as DM-p performance hybrids. The hybrids have an engine, fuel system, exhaust and engine cooling, and their underbody and thermal parts can differ from the electric version with the same name. Treat each powertrain as its own car when you search. Check the badge for DM-i or DM-p, then confirm the part by its OE number.

My BYD part is not listed. What should I do?

A part that is missing from the listings can often still be sourced. Send the OE number, a clear photo of the part label and the model name through the quote form. If the part changed during production, include the build date from the car's identification plate. We check the number, confirm whether a newer number has superseded it and send back an offer before you commit to anything. We reply within 24 hours, usually sooner.

Can my local garage fit BYD parts ordered here?

For most jobs, yes. Any competent workshop can handle brakes, suspension, body panels, lamps, filters and 12-volt electrical work, and each listing shows its OE number so the fitter can compare it with the part on the car. Work on the high-voltage battery, drive motor or power electronics needs a workshop qualified for high-voltage systems. Camera and radar parts may need calibrating after fitting, so ask the garage to allow time for that, and book the job before the part arrives.
