Frequently Asked Questions: OE 14051385-00
Can I just buy this shock absorber online without talking to anyone?
A left front shock absorber like this only goes right when it matches the car under it, so it is not something to add to a basket on trust. Check the fitment table on this page against your BYD Yuan PLUS before ordering. If your car is listed there against OE 14051385-00, you are looking at the right assembly. Delivery time is confirmed with your quote.
Is this shock absorber for the left or right side of the BYD Yuan PLUS?
This one is the left front, OE number 14051385-00, also listed as SC2EE-2905100-D1. Both numbers point to the same left side fitment, so if the part you are taking off carries either one, this is the correct replacement. Delivery time is confirmed with your quote. Order it as the left front and it will go on where the old unit came off.
What is the difference between the Original and Aftermarket versions of this part?
For this shock absorber, only the version made by BYD is listed here, so there is no Aftermarket option to compare it against on this page. What you see is what ships, an Original part carrying OE 14051385-00. If you want to check that against what came off your car, look at the photographs on this page before ordering. That way you know the shape and fittings match your Yuan PLUS.
The number on my old part is not 14051385-00, can I still use this one?
Match the part by side, position and fixings before you order on number alone. This is the left front shock absorber, fitted underbody, with OE number 14051385-00. If your old part carries a different number, use the fitment table on this page to see whether your vehicle is shown against this OE number. That table checks the car itself, not just the printed digits, so it is the more reliable route when the numbers do not line up.
Can I fit this shock absorber myself or does it need a garage?
Fitting a front shock absorber means working underbody with the suspension under load, so most owners leave this to a professional rather than tackling it on a drive. Before booking the work, check the model and model year on your registration document against the fitment table on this page, since the OE number 14051385-00 is listed for the left front position on the BYD Yuan PLUS. Getting that confirmed first means the garage receives the right part and is not left waiting on a second delivery.
What is this shock absorber actually made of?
This shock absorber is made of metal, which is what you would expect for a load-bearing suspension part carrying the weight of the car. If you are cross-checking parts lists or a different supplier's catalogue, this same assembly is also listed under SC2EE-2905100-D1, so use that reference to confirm you are comparing like for like. Either number should point you back to OE 14051385-00.
