Frequently Asked Questions: OE 17788366-00
Will this fit my car if it is close to a Tai 3 but not exactly the same?
This box matches the Fangchengbao Tai 3 only, and the fitment table on this page shows no alternative models. That means it is not confirmed for any other model, however close the range. If your car is close to this one but not an exact match, do not assume the box will fit or align correctly. Check the side, the position and the fixings on your own car against what is described here, and treat anything outside the exact model as unconfirmed until you have checked it yourself.
What if the number on my old storage box does not match 17788366-00?
If the number on your old part does not match 17788366-00, stop before you place the order. Take the storage box out of the tailgate, if you can, and read the number stamped or moulded onto it directly, rather than relying on memory. Do not assume your old part matches simply because the car looks right, since this listing is tied to one specific OE number for one specific model. Confirm what is actually in front of you before you compare it against the OE number listed here.
Does this tailgate storage box need painting to match the car?
No, this part needs no painting or finishing. It is moulded in black plastic, an interior fitting rather than a visible bodywork or exterior trim piece, so there is no paint code to match and no exterior finish to worry about. It arrives ready to fit in the colour shown. Before you order, look at the number stamped on the part you are taking off the tailgate, since matching that against the OE number listed here is the surest way to be sure you are ordering the right storage box for your car.
Where on the car does this storage box sit?
This box sits at the rear of the interior, toward the back of the cabin rather than the front. It does not say exactly where within the interior it mounts, so do not fit it by direction alone. Confirm the model and the model year exactly as written on your registration document, since even within one range a small difference in specification can change what fits in this position. Getting the year right matters as much as the model itself when a part like this fits only one model.
