Frequently Asked Questions: OE 15973857-00
The fan I took out is labelled TA3-1308020B. Does that match?
It does. This fan assembly carries the OE number 15973857-00 and the alternative reference TA3-1308020B, and the two describe the same unit. Labels on a moulded housing wear with time, so look over the whole unit before deciding the number is missing altogether. If what you can read matches either reference, this is the right page. If it does not, send us the reading through the quote route and we will check it before you order anything.
When will this fan arrive?
Delivery time is confirmed with your quote. Read them in that order and you have a realistic window to plan against. Both are estimates and neither is a fixed date. If the car is booked in somewhere, tell us when you order and we will confirm the current position against 15973857-00. The shipping cost is confirmed with your quote.
What is the fan assembly made of?
This fan assembly is made of plastic, finished in black. The housing is the part which takes any knocks, so keep the assembly in its box until the car is ready and do not stand anything on top of it. Keep the old electric cooling fan ii until the new one is fitted, in case the two need comparing.
Where does this fan sit?
This fan sits in the engine bay. It is described as Electric Cooling Fan II, which is the manufacturer's designation for one specific unit rather than a generic name. Where a car has more than one fan assembly, that designation is what separates them, so match it against the workshop diagram for your Yuan UP before ordering. We publish no mounting detail and no wiring information here. Read the OE number on the unit you take out and check it against 15973857-00 shown on this page.
Is there a second version of this fan on the site?
Not against this number. This page shows the Original/Genuine assembly from BYD and no aftermarket manufacturer, so one version is listed here. Where we offer both tiers we show them together and let you decide for yourself, and here there is nothing to decide between. If you would like us to look for an alternative that suits a Yuan UP, send 15973857-00 through the quote route and we will tell you what a supplier confirms rather than what we hope for.
