Frequently Asked Questions: OE 14258394-00
How do I know this is the left belt and not the right?
Left and right seat belts are not interchangeable, so check the fitment table on this page before ordering. It lists which side each listing covers so you can match it against the belt you are removing rather than guessing from memory. If you are still unsure once the buckle is out, compare the mounting point on the car itself against the table, since that confirms the side more reliably than trying to recall which one snapped or locked up.
Will this seat belt fit my car if it is close to the Sealion 05 EV but not exactly the same?
This belt is listed only for the BYD Sealion 05 EV, against OE number 14258394-00, and no other model is listed alongside it. If your car is a similar model rather than this exact one, do not assume the fit carries over. Have a look at the photographs on this page and compare them with the belt currently fitted in your car before ordering, since a belt that looks alike is not the same as a match confirmed against the OE number.
The number on my old belt does not match 14258394-00, is this still right?
Check it against the alternative reference UNE-5811010 as well, since this part is also listed under that number. If your old belt shows either code, you have the correct part. If it matches neither, do not fit it. Use the quote route on this page and give both numbers from your old part, so the fitment can be checked properly before you order.
Can I fit a seat belt assembly myself?
A seat belt is a safety restraint, so how it is fitted matters as much as the part itself. If you are not confident setting the anchor points and pretensioner connection correctly, use the quote route on this page to get a professional fitting priced alongside the part. That way the belt goes in properly the first time, rather than being left loose or wrongly seated, which is not something you want to discover after the fact.
