Frequently Asked Questions: OE 12580949-00
Is this the left or the right rear fog lamp?
This is the left rear fog lamp, so it belongs at the rear of the car on the left side as you sit in the driver's seat facing forward. Standing behind the car at the boot, that puts it on your right, which is exactly where buyers get caught out. Check the lamp on the car itself before ordering instead of working from a photograph. The right side version is a separate listing with its own OE number, so it is worth the two minutes to be certain.
There are two prices here. What am I choosing between?
Both tiers are priced on this page. Original/Genuine means the BYD fog lamp, the one specified for the car when it was built. Aftermarket means a unit from another manufacturer, sharing the same OE number and offered as the second option. Condition is new on either line. The choice usually comes down to whether the car is being kept to original specification or simply put back on the road properly. If you are unsure which one you are looking at, the tier name sits beside each price shown on this page.
My old fog lamp carries another reference. Does that matter?
Our listing carries OE number 12580949-00, and the same fog lamp is also catalogued as EL-4116300. If the number on your old lamp reads as either of those, you are in the right place. Numbers get worn or hidden behind the mounting flange, so wipe the housing and read it in good light before drawing a conclusion. Where the reference on your part matches neither of ours, use the quote route on this page and give us what you can read along with the car it came off.
How long does this fog lamp take to reach me?
Allow 8 to 28 days for delivery, counted from your order to your door. Treat the far end of the range as the realistic date rather than the earlier end. If the timing does not suit the job in hand, ask through the quote route before you place the order. The shipping cost for your country is shown on this page and confirmed at checkout before you pay.
What material is this fog lamp made of?
This fog lamp is made of plastic, meaning the housing and the lens are moulded rather than pressed from metal. Keep it wrapped until you are ready to fit it, and handle the lens by its edges so it is not scratched. If a courier may hand the parcel to a neighbour, ask for it to be kept dry and in its box, and leave room for it until you collect it.
