Frequently Asked Questions: OE 13533438-00
You have selected Aftermarket, the aftermarket alternative to this part. Where an answer below names BYD as the maker or calls the part Original/Genuine, it describes the Original/Genuine version, not this one.
How do I know this is the right side for my BYD Seagull?
This one is listed for the right side only, rear door, in black rubber. Before ordering, check the fitment table on this page to confirm your BYD Seagull model and generation take this listed side, since a left and right door strip are not interchangeable. If you are not certain which door yours came from, look at the strip currently fitted and note which side of the car it sits on. That comparison against the fitment table will confirm it is the correct one for your car.
What is the difference between the Original/Genuine and Aftermarket versions of this strip?
Only one version is listed on this page, so there is no tier choice to make here. What decides whether it is right for your car is the side, the position and the fixings, since this is the right rear door outer belt weatherstrip and will only sit correctly if your door matches on all three points. Check the old strip you are removing against the listing before you order, and use the OE number 13533438-00 to confirm it against the number on your car if you have any doubt.
My old strip has a different number on it, what do I do?
If the OE number on your old part does not match 13533438-00, do not assume it is a straight swap. Have the old part in front of you before you order, and check that number carefully against this one. This part is also listed under EQEA-6207116, so check for that too before deciding it is not a match. Confirming the number this way, rather than guessing from a description, is the reliable way to know you are ordering the right strip.
How will a strip this size actually turn up?
The packaging details for this strip are shown on this page. Delivery time is confirmed with your quote. Because it is a single moulded assembly, it cannot be cut down or joined from shorter offcuts if it arrives slightly long. Use the fitment table on this page to confirm it is the right one before you order.
Will I need to get this painted to match my car?
No finishing is needed here. It is supplied in black rubber, ready to fit as it is, rather than a component you would paint to match bodywork. If you are unsure whether this exact listing is right for your car before committing, use the quote route on this page and send a photograph of the old part and its label so the OE number can be checked. That is a quicker way to settle any doubt than ordering and hoping it lines up.
