Frequently Asked Questions: OE 13235176-00
You have selected Aftermarket, the aftermarket alternative to this part. Where an answer below names BYD as the maker or calls the part Original/Genuine, it describes the Original/Genuine version, not this one.
Is this the right side for my Dolphin, and how do I check before I order?
This one is listed for the right rear door. Side can be read differently depending on where you are standing, so do not guess from memory. Use the quote route on this page and give the OE number from the old trim strip, 13235176-00, or send a photo of the door with the part still fitted. That way the side gets confirmed against your actual car rather than assumed from the wrong end.
What is the difference between Original/Genuine and Aftermarket for this trim strip?
Have a look at the photographs on this page, since the two tiers are shown side by side there rather than described in words. This listing is for the right rear door trim strip in piano black, OE 13235176-00, made of plastic and supplied new. Check the images against the old strip you are removing, particularly the finish and the fixing points, before you commit to an order. If anything on the part in your hand does not match what you see, hold off and check the OE number again first.
What if the number on my old part is different?
If the number on your old part is different from 13235176-00, do not order on looks alone. Check the model and the model year exactly as they are written on your registration document, then compare those details against the fitment for this OE number before you order. That comparison is more reliable than matching by eye, and it is the quickest way to confirm whether this is the correct trim for your BYD Dolphin.
How will this be delivered?
The packaging details for this strip are shown on this page, since it runs the length of the door. The delivery time is 8 to 28 days, from order to door. Have the old part in front of you while you wait, since checking it against the details on this page before it arrives can catch a mismatch before you fit anything.
What is this trim strip made from?
This trim is made of plastic and finished in piano black, so it will not rust the way a metal fitting might. That colour is part of the piece itself, not a black coating you would need to paint. Because plastic trims can vary between similar models, check the fitment table on this page to confirm this one matches your BYD Dolphin before you order, rather than assuming any black trim strip will fit your car.
Does this need painting to match my car?
No painting is needed, since this trim comes finished in piano black rather than as a primed blank. What decides whether it fits properly is not colour but position, being made specifically for the right rear door. Before you order, check the side, the position and the fixings on your own car against this listing, since a trim that looks right in a photograph can still be for the wrong door or the wrong side of the car.
