About This Part
Genuine BYD tailgate grab handle, OE 13712042-00 (reference EQEA-6302151). This moulded black plastic recessed pull handle fits into the inner tailgate trim and gives a firm grip to pull the boot lid down when closing it, spreading the load so the trim panel is not stressed. A clean, direct replacement for a cracked or discoloured boot pull handle.
Fits the BYD Seagull, Seagull Smart Driving and Seagull Glory (2023 to 2026). Clips into the existing aperture in the tailgate trim.

Frequently Asked Questions: OE 13712042-00
The number on my old handle does not match, what now?
If the figure stamped on your old handle does not match 13712042-00, check it against EQEA-6302151, since this handle is also listed under that reference. A match there confirms you have found the right part. If neither number lines up, do not fit it on the strength of the description alone. Use the fitment table on this page to confirm the handle against your BYD Seagull before ordering, so you are working from the vehicle rather than guesswork on a plastic trim piece.
Will this handle need painting to match the interior?
This handle comes in black plastic and no other finish is listed for it. There is nothing to paint or match, since black is the only version available. Before you place your order, take the old handle off the tailgate and hold it up against this one, checking the shape and finish line up with what you have removed. That comparison, made while the broken part is still in your hand, is the surest way to confirm this is the right piece before you commit to buying it.
Where does this handle fit on the tailgate?
It is fitted at the rear, on the inside of the tailgate, as the grab handle used to pull it shut. The photographs on this page show its shape and mounting points, so hold your old one against them before ordering. It is made of black plastic. The OE number is 13712042-00, also listed as EQEA-6302151, so check that against the marking on the part you are removing.
