Frequently Asked Questions: OE 13571588-00
You have selected Aftermarket, the aftermarket alternative to this part. Where an answer below names BYD as the maker or calls the part Original/Genuine, it describes the Original/Genuine version, not this one.
What is the difference between Original and Aftermarket for this compressor?
For this compressor only one quality tier is listed on this page, so there is no Original versus Aftermarket choice to weigh up here. What still matters is fitment. Check the fitment table on this page against your BYD Seagull before ordering, and match the OE number 13571588-00 or the alternative reference EQEA-8103020 against the old unit if you can. That confirms you are getting the right compressor for your car, whichever tier applies to other parts.
What do I do if the number on my old compressor is not 13571588-00?
If the number on your old compressor is not 13571588-00, this is not a straight swap for your car. This part is also listed as EQEA-8103020, so check both before you rule it out. Do not order from memory or from a photograph of the old unit. Have the old compressor in front of you, find the OE number stamped or printed on it, and match it character by character against 13571588-00 and EQEA-8103020 before you place the order.
Is this compressor metal, and does that change how I fit it?
Yes, the body is metal, so treat it as a heavy, rigid unit rather than something you can flex into place. Before ordering, look at the side of the engine bay where your old compressor sits, note its position and how many fixings hold it to the mounting bracket. Match those points against the fitment table on this page so you know the new unit will bolt straight up without forcing anything into alignment.
Where does this compressor sit on the Seagull?
It sits in the engine bay as part of the air conditioning circuit. Before ordering, check the model and the model year exactly as printed on your registration document, since these details confirm you are matching the right compressor to your car. The OE number is 13571588-00, also listed as EQEA-8103020, so keep that to hand if you need to compare it against the part currently fitted. The delivery time is 8 to 28 days, from order to door.
