Frequently Asked Questions: OE 16081689-00
The tag on my compressor shows another number. Am I in the right place?
Check it against both references before deciding. Which of the two appears on the item itself varies, so a number that does not match the title is not a reason to walk away. Engine bay grime hides characters easily, so wipe the label down and read it in good light against each reference. A match with either puts you on the right listing. No match at all means it should be checked, so send what you can read through the quote route on this page.
How soon can this be with me?
Delivery takes 8 to 28 days from your order to your door. If you want the position on this unit confirmed before you commit, ask through the quote route on this page and quote OE 16081689-00. The shipping cost for your country is shown on this page and confirmed at checkout before you pay. Before you order, check the number on your old part against OE 16081689-00.
What is the body of this compressor made from?
Metal. Handle it with care when it turns up, because a metal housing that has been dropped on a workshop floor may not show what has happened to it from the outside. Keep it in its packing until the old unit is off the car, and lift it out carefully when you are ready to fit it. Compare the housing with the old compressor before you go any further with the job.
Where is this unit fitted on the vehicle?
In the engine bay. That is where this unit is fitted, and there is no left or right version to choose between. Exactly where in the bay it sits will depend on how your own vehicle is laid out, which is not something this page carries. Work from the unit already on the car for that. Before ordering, check the vehicle against the fitment table on this page and confirm the number on the compressor you are replacing.
Is there an aftermarket option for this compressor?
Not on this line. Only the Original/Genuine tier is offered, meaning the unit as made by BYD, and that is what the price on this page refers to. There is no aftermarket entry sitting behind it to compare against. If you would like an alternative source looked into, use the quote route on this page and give OE 16081689-00 together with your vehicle details. Until an aftermarket option is added, the genuine unit is what can be ordered here.
