Frequently Asked Questions: OE 12990811-00
If the number on my old part is different to this one, what should I do?
If the number on your old cover does not match 12990811-00, do not fit this part from the description alone. Open the fitment table on this page and check your car against it directly, using your model and year. This part is also listed under the reference SA3HA-5302220A, so check that too before you rule it out. Confirming against the table is the surest way to be certain this is the right cover for your BYD before you order.
How long will it take to get my engine cover?
Delivery time is confirmed with your quote. This engine cover is the only one listed for the BYD Song PLUS EV, so before it arrives take a look under the bonnet at how the old cover sits, which edge it fixes to and what holds it in place. That way, when the new one turns up, you can go straight in without stopping to work it out. The packaging details are shown on this page.
What is the engine cover made of and does that matter for fitment?
This cover is moulded in black plastic, matched to the original BYD design under OE number 12990811-00. Material will not tell you if it fits your car, since Song PLUS EV models can differ between years. Check the model and model year exactly as printed on your registration document before ordering, and match that against the fitment table on this page. Delivery time is confirmed with your quote.
Will this need painting or finishing to match my car?
Painting or extra finishing is not something listed for this cover, only that it comes finished in black. Rather than guess whether that finish matches your car, use the quote route on this page and ask before you order. That way you get a clear answer for your exact vehicle rather than relying on assumption, and you can decide whether any extra finishing work is needed on your side once the cover is in hand.
Where on the car does this fit?
The engine bay is where this cover fits, as part of the body panels and structure around the engine. If you are not certain you are looking at the right listing, check the alternative reference this part is also listed under, SA3HA-5302220A, against any paperwork or old part markings you have. Matching that reference alongside the fitting position is a quick way to confirm you have found the correct cover before you commit to an order.
Is this engine cover the only version listed for my BYD Song PLUS EV?
If you would rather compare pricing on another option, use the quote route on this page and we can look one up and price it for you. At present only the original BYD version is listed here, OE number 12990811-00. Before you order, check the marking on the cover currently fitted to the car and compare it against that OE number.
