Frequently Asked Questions: OE 17724497-00
You have selected Aftermarket, the aftermarket alternative to this part. Where an answer below names BYD as the maker or calls the part Original/Genuine, it describes the Original/Genuine version, not this one.
How do I know this is the left side duct and not the right one?
This listing is for the left front bumper air intake duct, OE number 17724497-00, also listed as SC3E-2803213A/92. Left and right refer to the car as you sit in the driver seat facing forward. Before ordering, check the fitment table on this page to confirm this side and OE number match your BYD Yuan UP. Delivery takes 8 to 28 days from your order to your door.
Will this duct fit my car if it is not exactly a Yuan UP?
Only the BYD Yuan UP appears against this duct, with no other model listed here. Do not order on the assumption that a similar looking car will take the same duct. Open the photographs on this page and check the shape and the mounting points against what is fitted on your own bumper before you place the order. Keep the old front bumper air intake duct i (left) until the new one is fitted, in case the two need comparing.
What is the difference between Original/Genuine and Aftermarket here?
Original/Genuine parts come from BYD and match the fit and finish of the duct on the car now. Aftermarket versions are made to the same OE number, 17724497-00, but by another manufacturer, so small differences in fit are possible. Before choosing, check the side and position against your own car, since this is listed as the left front duct only. Also check the fixings on the old part still hold the shape needed, as a duct that has cracked around its clips will not seat the same way even in a correct replacement.
The OE number on my old duct is not 17724497-00, what now?
Do not assume this duct is wrong just because the number does not match 17724497-00. Check it against the alternative reference SC3E-2803213A/92, which this part is also listed under, since your old part may be marked with either code. If neither number matches what is stamped or printed on your old part, hold off ordering until you have confirmed which reference applies to your car.
What is this duct made of and does that matter for fitting it?
It is a black plastic duct, new and not a repaired original. Confirm the model and model year for your BYD Yuan UP against your registration document before ordering, since the OE number 17724497-00 is what ties this duct to your exact car. If it does not match, the fitment table on this page is the place to check further.
Will I need to get this duct painted before fitting it?
No painting is needed, since this duct is supplied finished in black. No other colour is available for it, so black is what you will receive. Have the old part in front of you before you order, and check its colour and finish match, since that tells you straight away whether this is the correct duct for the bumper you are replacing it on.
