Frequently Asked Questions: OE 16599118-00
The number on my old cover does not match 16599118-00, what now?
Do not fit it on the strength of the name alone. Open the fitment table on this page and check your vehicle details against it, since the cover is also listed under SC3E-2803217A. If your old part carries neither number, that difference does not confirm the wrong item, but it does mean you should confirm against the table before ordering rather than assuming a match.
What is this tow hook cover made of and does that matter for fitting?
This cover is moulded in black plastic, made new by BYD, and finished ready to fit without any painting needed if you want it to match. Before ordering, take a look at the number on the old cover you are removing and set it against the OE number 16599118-00 listed here, so you can be sure you are ordering the correct replacement for your Yuan UP or Yuan PLUS.
Will this tow hook cover match my paintwork straight away?
No. It comes in black plastic and is not colour matched to your car. Have a look at the photographs on this page to see the finish before you order, then have it painted to match if you want a factory look. It fits the front only, on the BYD Yuan UP and Yuan PLUS, so check the OE number 16599118-00 against your old part before ordering.
Whereabouts does this tow hook cover go on the car?
This is the front cover, made of black plastic, that fits at the front of the BYD Yuan UP or Yuan PLUS where the tow hook sits behind the bumper. Check the OE number on your existing cover against 16599118-00 before you order, since that confirms you have the right one for your car. For the exact side and position on your model, use the fitment table on this page.
