Frequently Asked Questions: OE 12823829-00
Which side does this trim panel fit?
This is the left rear trim panel, fitted to the rear left corner of the bumper on the exterior of the car. To be sure it is the correct side, stand at the back of the car facing forward and look at the left corner, then check the position and fixings holding the damaged or missing panel in place. Comparing this to your own car before ordering avoids picking the mirrored piece from the right side by mistake.
Whats the difference between the original and aftermarket versions of this trim panel?
This listing shows one version only, a new panel supplied by BYD, so there is no second tier to weigh up here. What matters more is making sure it is the right one for your car. Take the model and the model year exactly as printed on your registration document and set them against the fitment table on this page before you order, since bumper trim can change between versions of the e2 even when the shape looks similar.
What if the number on my old part is different?
Match it against the OE number 12823829-00 before you order, since that number is what confirms this is the correct trim panel for your car. If yours does not match, use the photographs on this page to compare the shape and fittings of your old panel against the one shown, as this is your best check of fit. This is listed as a new left rear trim panel in black plastic, made in China, also known as EL-2804113.
What is the trim panel made from and does that matter for fitting it?
This trim panel is moulded in black plastic and is supplied new. It is made for the left side of the rear bumper on the BYD e2. Before you order, take the old panel off the car and check the OE number printed or stamped on it against 12823829-00, also listed as EL-2804113. Matching the number on your old part to this one is the surest way to be certain you are ordering the right panel.
Will this trim panel need painting to match the rest of the car?
No colour or finish beyond black is mentioned for this trim panel, so treat it as supplied ready to fit rather than needing further work. It is listed only for the BYD e2, left side, rear position, so before ordering check the fitment table on this page against the position and side of the part you are removing. Confirm the OE number on the old trim, 12823829-00, matches what is shown there. Getting the side and position right matters more here than anything to do with finish.
