Frequently Asked Questions: OE 16903912-00
Does this fit my BYD if it is not exactly a Qin PLUS DM-i?
Only the BYD Qin PLUS DM-i is confirmed for OE number 16903912-00, and no other model is confirmed to fit. If your car is a different BYD model or a different build, the shutter assembly can vary even where the body looks alike, so fitting the wrong one wastes the trip to remove and refit it. If you are not certain your car matches, use the quote route on this page and send a photograph of the old part and its label, so the fitment can be checked against the OE number before you order.
What if the number on my old shutter does not match 16903912-00?
Do not fit it on the strength of the shutter alone. Look at where it sits on the front of the car, which side it is mounted, and how it fixes in place, then compare that to the listing before you order. This is a front-fitted exterior part, and getting the position and fixings right matters more than the number on its own. If you are still unsure once you have checked the car, use the quote route on this page and give the details from the old part.
How is a part this size delivered?
Packaging details for this active grille shutter are shown on this page. Delivery time is confirmed with your quote. Before it arrives, take the number stamped on the part you are taking off and check it against 16903912-00, because that comparison is worth doing while the old part is still in your hands rather than after the new one is unpacked.
What is the grille shutter made of?
Plastic, not metal, is what this shutter is moulded from, which keeps it light for a part fitted at the front of the car. Being a moulded assembly, it is shaped for one specific application, so check the model and the model year as written on your registration document before you order, to be sure your car matches OE number 16903912-00.
Will this shutter need painting to match my car?
No painting is needed. This shutter comes finished in black, so there is no separate step to colour match it once it arrives. What is worth doing first is having the old part in front of you before you order, since comparing it directly to this listing tells you straight away whether the shade and finish are the same as what is currently fitted to your car.
Where on the car does this active grille shutter fit?
Fitted at the front of the car, this shutter sits on the exterior of the body within the bumpers and trim area, and it is listed under OE number 16903912-00. If you find it referenced anywhere under a different code, check whether that code is HA5H-2803500, because that is the same part listed under an alternative reference, and matching it confirms you are looking at the right one.
