Frequently Asked Questions: OE 13608001-00
How do I know this hinge is the left one and not the right?
This listing is for the left bonnet hinge, OE number 13608001-00, fitted in the engine bay at the front of the BYD Seagull. If you are not certain the broken hinge on your car matches this side, use the quote route on this page and someone can confirm it against your details before you order. That way you avoid ordering the wrong side and having to sort out a swap later.
The number on my old hinge does not match 13608001-00, what now?
Stop before fitting it and check the photographs on this page against the hinge you have removed. A bonnet hinge can look close to correct while being the wrong side or a slightly different mounting pattern, so matching by eye alone is not reliable. If the photographs still leave you unsure, note the number stamped or cast on your old part and compare it directly with 13608001-00 before you commit to the order. The delivery time is 8 to 25 days, from order to door.
What is the left bonnet hinge made of?
This is a metal hinge, made new rather than reconditioned. Being metal, it carries the weight of the bonnet without flexing, which is what the hinge point on a car needs to do reliably. It fits the engine bay on the left side. Confirm the OE number 13608001-00 against the fitment table on this page before you order, so you know it is the correct one for your Seagull.
