Frequently Asked Questions: OE 13608002-00
How do I know this hinge is right for my car and not the left side?
This listing is the right hand bonnet hinge, OE 13608002-00, also listed as EQEA-8402619, for the BYD Seagull. Before you order, open the fitment table on this page and check the OE number stamped on the old hinge against it, since a bonnet has a hinge on each side and they are not interchangeable. It is a metal hinge fitted in the engine bay, new and made in China. Confirming the side first means the part bolts straight on without a second order.
The number on my old hinge does not match 13608002-00, what now?
Check the old hinge itself before ordering. Confirm it sits on the right side of the car, at the front, in the engine bay, and look at how it is fixed in place, since that tells you whether it matches this one. If the numbers still do not agree after that check, the fitment table on this page is the next place to look before you commit to this part.
What is this hinge made of and does it matter for fitting my Seagull?
It is metal. Match it to your car by the model and model year shown on your registration document, since the right hinge depends on getting that detail correct rather than on the material itself. The OE number 13608002-00 is also listed as EQEA-8402619, so check either against the marking on your old hinge if you can still read it. This is the right side hinge, fitted in the engine bay at the front of the car, so make sure that matches the side you are replacing before you order.
