Frequently Asked Questions: OE 14012756-00
How do I know this hinge is the right side for my car?
This hinge is listed for the right side, fitted at the front, in the engine bay. Do not rely on memory when it comes to left and right. The old hinge you are removing carries its own stamped number, and that is what settles the matter. Find that number on the part in your hand and compare it with the OE number 14012756-00 on this page. If they match, this is the one you need.
What if the number on my old hinge does not match this one?
A mismatch means this is not the hinge for your car, whatever the description implies. Do not order on the strength of the vehicle name alone. Have the old hinge in front of you before you place an order, so you can read its stamped number directly rather than from memory or a photograph. Compare that number against the OE number 14012756-00 listed here. If the figures are not the same, hold off and look for the version that matches what is actually fitted to the car.
What is this hinge made of and is it strong enough for the job?
This hinge is metal and comes new, not reconditioned, listed under OE number 14012756-00. If you want to see the finish and shape before you order, the photographs on this page show the part as it is sent out. Compare them against the hinge you are removing, particularly the mounting points, so you can be confident it matches before you commit to fitting it.
