Frequently Asked Questions: OE 17144495-00
Why can I not just buy this curtain airbag module online, do I need a quote first?
This left side curtain airbag module is handled through the quote route on this page rather than a straight online purchase. Only one version is listed here, for the Fangchengbao Bao 5 and Dolphin, under OE number 17144495-00. Before requesting a quote, check the fitment table on this page to confirm it matches your vehicle. Once confirmed, submit your details through the quote route so the correct OE number is passed through with your order.
Which side is this airbag for and how do I check?
This one is the left curtain airbag module, fitted inside the interior of the car. Left and right curtain airbags are different parts, so the side matters as much as anything else on this listing. Rather than work from memory, take the number stamped on the part you are removing and match it against 17144495-00 or the alternative SFH-5820700-D1. Matching numbers confirm you have the correct left side module for your Bao 5 or Dolphin, and doing this check before the part leaves its packaging is the safest way to be sure.
What if the number on my old part is different from this one?
If the number on your old part does not match 17144495-00 or SFH-5820700-D1, stop before fitting this one. Nothing here explains why the numbers might differ, so guessing is not sensible with a safety part like this. Instead, check the side, the position and the fixings on your own car against the part you have removed. If those line up along with everything else you can see, that gives you far more confidence than trying to match numbers that already disagree. If in doubt, hold off ordering.
Can I fit this myself or does it need a professional?
Nothing here says whether this part needs a specialist to fit it, so this answer sticks to what you can control yourself. Before you order, get the old part out of the car and hold it next to the new one, checking the OE number 17144495-00 or the alternative SFH-5820700-D1 against it. This is an airbag and SRS part, so getting the match right before fitting matters more than usual. Doing that comparison with the old part in front of you is the most useful step you can take.
How will a part this size be delivered to me?
It travels in its own packaging, and the packaging details are shown on this page. Take a look at the photographs on this page before ordering, so you know what shape to expect on your doorstep. Once it arrives, check the OE number on the packaging against 17144495-00 or the alternative reference SFH-5820700-D1 before fitting, to be sure it matches the part you are replacing.
