Frequently Asked Questions: OE 16800266-00
Why can I not just add this to the basket and pay online?
This is a safety part fitted inside the car, so it goes through the quote route rather than a straight online purchase. Airbag modules vary by trim and build date, so we confirm the exact match before pricing it. Find the number stamped on the part you are removing and have it ready, since that is what lets us match it correctly. Once we have that number, we can put together a quote and get it moving without any confusion over specification.
How do I know this is the correct side for my car?
This module is listed for the left-hand side of the car, so check that against the side you are removing before ordering. Driver and passenger airbag modules are not interchangeable, since each one is built for its own side. Compare the shape and connector position with the photographs on this page to be sure you have matched it correctly. Getting the side wrong here means it will not sit or connect properly once you come to fit it.
What if the number on my old airbag module is not 16800266-00?
If the number on your old airbag module does not read 16800266-00, do not assume this is still the right one. This item is also listed under HA6HA-5820100, so check both references against what you have removed. Airbag modules are matched closely to the vehicle, so even a small difference in the number can mean a different specification. Where the numbers do not line up, use the quote route on this page and send over what is stamped on your part so it can be checked properly.
Can I fit this myself or does it need a garage?
Yes, an airbag module should be fitted by a professional rather than at home, since it is a safety system that has to be connected and reset correctly. It sits inside the interior and forms part of the car's restraint system, so getting this wrong is not something to risk on your own. Before booking anyone in, check the fitment table on this page to be certain this listing matches your car. That confirms you have the right part before any work begins.
