Frequently Asked Questions: OE 13992484-00
Which side is this for and how do I know which one I need?
This one is listed for the left side, fitted in the engine bay. Left and right on a car are worked out as you sit in the driver's seat facing forward, not as you look at the car from outside. Before ordering, check the fitment table on this page, which confirms the side against your model, so you order the left hand extension and not its mirror image for the other side.
How do I know this will actually fit my car?
Only BYD Song PLUS is shown for this OE number, so fit is not something to guess at from the model name alone. Take the model and the model year as written on your registration document, and check both against the fitment table on this page before you order. That table is the only way to confirm this extension is correct for your specific car.
The number on my old part is different, does that mean this is wrong?
A different number on your old part does not settle the question on its own. What decides it is the side, the position and the fixings on your own car. Compare those against your old part before ordering, checking that the extension sits on the left of the engine bay and lines up with the same fixing points. If the side, position and fixings match, that is a stronger indicator than the number alone.
What is this part made of and does that matter?
This extension is made of plastic and finished in black. That colour and material are fixed as listed, not something you choose at checkout. Have the old part in front of you before you order, and compare its shape and fixing points against this one, so any difference is caught before it arrives rather than after you have started fitting it.
Will I need to get this painted to match my car?
Painting is not needed here if black already matches the surrounding trim in your engine bay. The colour listed for this part is black, with no other option given for this OE number. Before you order, check the photographs on this page to see the exact shade and finish for yourself. If what you see there matches your car, this part is ready to fit as it is.
