Frequently Asked Questions: OE 13330553-00
You have selected Aftermarket, the aftermarket alternative to this part. Where an answer below names BYD as the maker or calls the part Original/Genuine, it describes the Original/Genuine version, not this one.
How do I know this is the left side and not the right one for my Destroyer 05?
This listing is for the left front grille trim strip only. Rather than guess from the word left, check the fitment table on this page, since orientation is usually given from the driver seat looking forward and it is easy to mix up when a part is off the car. If you still have the old trim strip in hand, compare its shape and mounting points against the entry before ordering, so you are not stuck with one on the wrong side.
How do I know which quality tier this trim strip is?
Have a look at the photographs on this page, since they show the Original and Aftermarket options side by side so you can see the finish and detail on each before you order. This listing gives the OE number 13330553-00, which you can check against the number on your old trim strip to confirm it is the right one. If you are still unsure which tier suits your BYD Destroyer 05, the images will make the difference clear at a glance.
The number on my old part does not match 13330553-00, what now?
Do not fit it on the strength of the description alone. Check the model and the model year as shown on your registration document, then compare that against the fitment table on this page before ordering. If the details line up there, the trim is right for your car even if the old part carries a different reference. If they do not line up, hold off and use the quote route on this page so the correct strip can be confirmed for you.
What material is this trim strip made from and will it hold up on the car?
This strip is made of plastic, coloured grey rather than left to be painted, which suits a part that sits in this exterior position without extra finishing. What matters most for a good fit is not the material but how well it lines up with the mounting points already on your car. Check the side, the position and the fixings on your own vehicle before you fit it, so the new strip seats the same way the old one did.
Do I need to get this trim strip painted before fitting it?
No, it comes finished in grey and there is no mention of it needing paint or further finishing before fitting. If your car has a different exterior shade and you want the strip to blend in rather than stand out as a separate colour, that is a job for a bodyshop once it is fitted. If you are unsure whether the grey shown matches your trim, use the quote route on this page to ask before you commit to the order.
