Frequently Asked Questions: OE 14042430-00
How do I know this is the right side step and not the left?
This listing is for the right side step, OE number 14042430-00. Left and right steps are not interchangeable, so fitting the wrong one means the fixing points and trim edge will not line up. Before ordering, check the fitment table on this page to confirm right side is what your Bao 5 needs. If you are unsure which side has failed, look at the step still fitted to the car and match it against the table rather than guessing from memory.
My old part shows a different number to 14042430-00, is that a problem?
It can happen when steps vary across the range. Do not fit by number alone. Check the model and the model year on your registration document, then compare that against the fitment table on this page before you order. If the table lists your model and year against this OE number, you are clear to buy. If it does not, hold off and check further rather than fitting a part that looks close but is not confirmed.
How will a step this size be delivered to me?
The packaging details are shown on this page. This step ships in one long, narrow box. Expect a parcel that suits a courier drop rather than a pallet delivery. Delivery time is confirmed with your quote. Have a look at the photographs on this page to see the shape and finish of the step before you order, so you know exactly what will arrive at your door.
What is this step made of and does that matter for fitting?
This is a metal step assembly, finished in black, listed for the right side of the Fangchengbao Bao 5 and fitted in the interior area. Metal parts like this are supplied as one complete unit rather than loose sections, so it needs to go on as it is listed. Before ordering, look at the step currently fitted to your car and confirm it sits on the right side, in the same position, with the same fixing points, so the replacement lines up correctly.
Does this need painting or finishing to match my car?
Finished in black and supplied new, this step needs no painting before it goes on the car. To confirm you have the correct part, it also carries the reference SFHA-5402880, and checking that alongside the OE number shows you are looking at the identical component. Once matched that way, it is ready to fit straight from the box, with no further finishing required.
