Frequently Asked Questions: OE 14672001-00
You have selected Aftermarket, the aftermarket alternative to this part. Where an answer below names BYD as the maker or calls the part Original/Genuine, it describes the Original/Genuine version, not this one.
What is the difference between the two quality tiers?
Original or Genuine parts come from the vehicle maker, BYD in this case, while Aftermarket parts are made by an independent manufacturer to fit the same car. This tailgate is listed as coming from BYD. It is also listed under the reference EM2ECA-6301010/77, so if you are matching it against a quote or another listing, check that number as well as the OE number before you order.
What if the number on my old part is different?
Look at the number stamped on the tailgate you are removing before you order. This listing is built around OE number 14672001-00, and that is the figure to match against what is on the old part. If the two do not line up, do not fit this one. Take the number straight off the part in front of you rather than from a service book or an old invoice, since that is the only way to be sure you are ordering the right tailgate for your Dolphin.
How is a tailgate this big delivered?
This is a large panel, and the packaging details for it are shown on this page rather than given here. Delivery time is confirmed with your quote. With a part this size, take a moment to check the fitment table on this page and confirm the OE number 14672001-00 matches the number on your old tailgate before you place your order.
What is the tailgate made of and does that affect fitment?
It is a metal assembly, so it is not a like for like swap for a plastic tailgate skin and it will not flex the way a composite panel can. Confirm the model and the model year as written on your registration document before you order, since the OE number 14672001-00 is tied to a specific build. If those details match, the fitment table on this page will confirm it is the right one for your car.
Where does this tailgate fit on the car?
This is the rear tailgate, the full panel that opens at the back of the BYD Dolphin. Have a look at the photographs on this page to see the shape of the assembly and how it sits at the rear of the car before you order. It is a new metal panel with OE number 14672001-00, also known as EM2ECA-6301010/77. Check that number against the one on your old tailgate so you know it is the right part before you commit to buying.
