Frequently Asked Questions: OE 14779246-00
You have selected Aftermarket, the aftermarket alternative to this part. Where an answer below names BYD as the maker or calls the part Original/Genuine, it describes the Original/Genuine version, not this one.
How do I know this bonnet will fit my Song PLUS?
Match the OE number on your old bonnet, 14779246-00, against the fitment table on this page before you order, since it may also be listed under SA3HK-8402010/70. If the numbers agree with your car, the panel is the right one. This is a metal panel for the front engine bay, made new in China to the BYD specification, so getting the number right matters more than the model name alone. Check it against the panel you are removing, not just the badge on the car.
What is the difference between the Original/Genuine and Aftermarket versions of this bonnet?
This page lists a single option, an Original/Genuine bonnet made by BYD in China, so there is no Aftermarket alternative to weigh it against here. Have a look at the photographs on this page to see the panel shape, the mounting points and the finish before you order, since that is the clearest way to confirm it matches the bonnet you are replacing. Check the OE number 14779246-00 against the marking on your old bonnet as a final check.
The number on my old bonnet does not match 14779246-00, what now?
Do not rely on the old part alone. Find the model and the model year exactly as printed on your registration document and check them against the fitment table on this page before you order. A bonnet is bolted straight into the front engine bay, so getting this step right matters more than matching the number by eye. Delivery time is confirmed with your quote.
How will a bonnet this big actually turn up at my door?
Delivery time is confirmed with your quote. While you wait, check which side your current bonnet hinges from, how it sits against the wings, and the condition of the bolts and clips holding it in place. Getting that noted down now means you are ready to fit the new panel as soon as it lands, rather than working it out with the box already open on the drive.
What is this bonnet made of?
Metal is what this bonnet is made of, listed as new and fitted at the front of the car in the engine bay. To confirm you have the right one before ordering, this part is also listed under the alternative reference SA3HK-8402010/70, and checking that against other listings or paperwork you already hold for the car is a useful way to be sure.
Whereabouts on the car does this bonnet fit?
Over the engine bay is where this panel sits, at the front of the car rather than the rear. Before you buy, take the number stamped on the part you are taking off and check it against 14779246-00 or the alternative reference SA3HK-8402010/70, since that stamped number is the most reliable way to confirm you are ordering the correct bonnet for your car.
