Frequently Asked Questions: OE 18288971-00
You have selected Aftermarket, the aftermarket alternative to this part. Where an answer below names BYD as the maker or calls the part Original/Genuine, it describes the Original/Genuine version, not this one.
Which side is this fender for, and how do I know I have picked the right one?
This fender is listed for the right side only. To check, stand at the front of the car facing it, the right side is the one nearest your right hand from that position. If the damaged panel in front of you sits on the left, this is not the one to order. Rather than guess from memory, use the quote route on this page and describe which panel is damaged, so the side gets confirmed before the order goes through.
What is the difference between Original/Genuine and Aftermarket for this fender?
Only one version is listed for this OE number, so that choice does not apply here and there is nothing further to weigh up on quality. What does matter is getting the part itself right. Check the side against your own car, since this one is listed for the right, and look at where it bolts to the wing, headlamp surround and sill on your BYD Song PLUS before ordering. If the fixing points do not line up with the old panel, this is not the one to buy.
What do I do if the number on my old part is different from this one?
The OE number for this fender is 18288971-00, also listed as SA3HK-8403019A/70. If the number on your old panel does not match either of these, stop before you order. Have the old part in front of you, not just a memory of it, and read the number directly from the metal. A mismatch here means this listing may not be the part fitted to your car, so checking the number first is the only way to be sure before you commit to buying it.
How will a fender this size actually turn up at my door?
Delivery time is confirmed with your quote. The packaging details are shown on this page. Before it ships, match this to the model and the model year shown on your registration document, since that is what confirms it is the right one for your BYD Song PLUS. The shipping cost is confirmed with your quote.
What is this fender made of and does it matter?
This is a metal fender, not a plastic moulding, so it takes weld or bolt fitment the same way as the panel it replaces. Have a look at the photographs on this page before you order, so you can see the panel shape and finish for yourself. It is listed for the BYD Song PLUS against OE number 18288971-00, so check that number against the old part first. Delivery time is confirmed with your quote.
