Front Brake Disc for BYD Yuan UP & Seal 05, OE 15538157-00

Work from the fitment table on this page rather than from the model name in the title, because the table is where the build variants are set out. Find your variant there first. Then confirm against the car itself: the number on the disc coming off should correspond to 15538157-00, or to the alternative reference HA2EL-3501111BS, which is the same disc under another string. Front discs are usually replaced in pairs, so check both sides while the wheels are off. If your variant is missing from the table, put the numbers through the quote route before ordering.

Two tiers are priced on this page for the same fitment. The Original/Genuine tier is the BYD part carrying OE number 15538157-00. The Aftermarket tier is an alternative matched to that same fitment and supplied by a different maker, which is where the price difference comes from. There is no performance or material comparison between the two beyond what is shown here, so we will not offer one. Both are listed as new. If you want supplier detail on the Aftermarket option before you decide, ask through the quote route and we will pass on what we can find out.

It may well be. Alongside OE number 15538157-00, this front disc is also known under HA2EL-3501111BS as an alternative reference, and either can appear on the component itself. Discs carry their markings on the hat or the outer edge, and rust hides them quickly, so wire brush the area before reading it. Compare the full string against both numbers. If you come up with a third number, do not assume it is a variation on the same theme. Send it to us through the quote route and we will check it for you.

This is a safety critical part, and it is a braking component at the front of the car, so our answer is to have a workshop do it. The bedding-in procedure and the torque settings for it are not something we can supply and will not be published here. A garage working from the manufacturer data for your BYD has all of that. If you are buying in advance of a booking, give the fitter OE number 15538157-00 and let them confirm it against the car before the job starts.

The delivery time is 8 to 28 days, from order to door. If you are replacing both front discs, keep them on a single order so they arrive together and the car only goes up once. Let us know your garage booking date when you order and we will tell you whether it is realistic. The shipping cost for your country is shown on this page and confirmed at checkout before you pay.

The part is described simply as metal, without a grade or a coating detail, so that single word is as far as we can go. Nothing more specific than that is given, so we cannot say more here. If your fitter needs the material specification confirmed before ordering, raise it through the quote route on this page and we will ask the supplier.

It mounts underbody at the front of the car, behind the road wheel, as part of the front braking assembly. In practice that means the wheel has to come off to see it, and the disc has spent its life exposed to water and grit, so retaining screws and the hub face are usually the awkward part of the job rather than the disc itself. Have the car properly supported before anything is undone. Check your model against the fitment table on this page before you book the work in.
