About This Part
Oil cooler assembly for BYD, OE 12978696-00 (SA3HE-1310010). The finned aluminium core with integrated inlet and outlet lines transfers heat from the transmission fluid, sitting in the engine bay cooling circuit. It fits the BYD Destroyer 05 Glory 2022-2025, Destroyer 05 2022-2025 and Qin PLUS DM-i Glory 2020-2025, and more BYD models. Install this oil cooler radiator when the original heat exchanger leaks or a fin block restricts flow.

Frequently Asked Questions: OE 12978696-00
What is the difference between the two quality tiers?
A single quality tier is listed for this cooler here, against BYD as the genuine maker, with no Aftermarket option beside it. That leaves nothing to compare the price shown on this page against for this OE number. If your fitment differs, or you would like a second option checked, use the quote route on this page to ask before ordering, since that is where any alternative tier would be confirmed, rather than here.
The number on my old cooler does not match 12978696-00, what now?
Do not fit it on the strength of memory. Have the old assembly out and in front of you, and match its OE number against 12978696-00, or the cross reference SA3HE-1310010, before you commit to the order. Cooling parts on similar looking models can differ in ways that are not obvious from across the engine bay. If neither number matches what is stamped or printed on the part you are replacing, hold off ordering and check the fitment table on this page instead of guessing from the vehicle name alone.
When will this oil cooler arrive after I order it?
Delivery time is confirmed with your quote. When it arrives, check the parcel over before you sign for it, and take a moment to compare it against the old cooler you are removing rather than fitting it straight away. If anything about the parcel looks wrong when it lands, hold off opening it further. For anything about fitting, use the quote route on this page before you go ahead.
What is the oil cooler assembly made of and does that matter for fitment?
This assembly is made of metal, not plastic, so it is built to sit in the engine bay and take the heat and vibration that come with that position. It is supplied new, complete and ready to fit, matched to OE number 12978696-00 for the Destroyer 05 and Qin PLUS. Before ordering, have a look at the photographs on this page so you know exactly what you are getting and can compare it against the part currently fitted.
Where on the car does this oil cooler fit?
The engine bay is where this cooler sits, as part of the vehicle's oil cooling circuit rather than elsewhere on the car. Check the fitment table on this page against your Destroyer 05 or Qin PLUS, then look at the side, the position and the fixings of the cooler on your own car to confirm the layout matches before you order. That direct check under the bonnet, not the vehicle name alone, is what confirms fit.
