Frequently Asked Questions: OE 16088670-00
Which side of the car does this one fit?
This is the right hand panel. It fits the lower rear bumper on the opposite side from the left hand version, and the two are mirror images that will not swap over. Sides are stated from the seated driver's point of view facing forward. The safest check is to pull the broken panel and lay it against the images on this page, watching where the fixing points fall. If the shape reads back to front against the photographs, you want the left hand panel, which is listed on its own page under a separate OE number.
My old panel carries a different number. Does that rule this one out?
No. This panel carries the alternative reference UGE-2804136 alongside the OE number 16088670-00, so a different string moulded into the old part does not on its own mean a mismatch. Moulded text is easy to misread once the panel has been on the road for a few years. Compare what you can make out against both references above, then check your own car against the fitment table on this page. If nothing lines up, send the number you have to us through the quote route and we will look it up.
When would this panel arrive if I ordered today?
Delivery time is confirmed with your quote. If the timing matters for a bodyshop slot, ask us to confirm where this OE number stands before you place the order. The shipping cost is confirmed with your quote. Before you order, check the number on your old part against OE 16088670-00. Keep the old rear bumper lower trim panel (right) until the new one is fitted, in case the two need comparing.
What should I expect on delivery for something this size?
The packaging details are shown on this page. Choose an address where a long box can be brought inside and laid flat, and where somebody will be in to take it. Do not have it left standing on end against a wall. Keep the panel in its box until the fitter is ready for it, because it is easy to knock while it is loose and out of its packaging.
Is this a plastic panel or a metal one?
Plastic. The panel is a moulding, and the way it holds its line depends on the clips and brackets it hangs from. Before the new one goes on, look over every fixing point on the car and deal with anything that broke away with the old panel. If it is going to be finished, tell the bodyshop what the panel is made from, because preparation for plastic differs from metal.
Will it need finishing before it goes on?
Whether it needs finishing depends on how your car is trimmed at the rear. Where the lower section is left black, the panel goes on as delivered. Where the car carries paint across that area, the panel has to be prepared and sprayed to match first, which is bodyshop work rather than a driveway job. Check the old panel before ordering. We do not paint parts to order, so what is described on this page is what arrives.
Can I get a cheaper version of this panel?
One version is listed, the Original/Genuine BYD panel. No Aftermarket version of this panel exists, so the page carries a single option and the price shown on this page applies to it. Where an Aftermarket alternative does exist for a part, both tiers appear together and the choice is yours. That is not the case here. If you would rather we searched for another source for this panel, use the quote route and include the OE number along with your car details so we can check what else is available.
