Frequently Asked Questions: OE 14779247-00
What is the actual difference between Original and Aftermarket here?
On this tailgate the difference comes down to who made it and where it sits against the BYD original. Check the fitment table on this page, which sets out what is listed for this reference so you can see exactly what you would be ordering. If only one option is shown there, that is the only version listed for this OE number, so order against that rather than guessing at an alternative tier that is not offered.
What if the number on my old tailgate is different from this one?
If the number on your old tailgate does not match 14779247-00, do not order from memory alone. Open the photographs on this page and hold your old tailgate up against what is shown, checking it looks the same before you commit. A mismatched number is worth a second look rather than a guess, since this is the rear tailgate for the BYD Song PLUS EV and DM-i and getting it wrong means starting the search again.
How will a tailgate this size be delivered?
This bulky panel comes on a pallet or large parcel service rather than a standard courier, and the packaging details are shown on this page. Delivery time is confirmed with your quote. Before you order, check the model and the model year exactly as written on your registration document, and match that against the fitment table on this page.
What is this tailgate made of?
This tailgate is made of metal. It carries OE number 14779247-00, also listed as SA3HK-6301010/70. Before you order, take the old tailgate off the car, or read the number stamped on it, and compare it against these two references. A metal panel is not something you want to order twice for the wrong car, so matching the number on the part in front of you is the surest way to get it right the first time.
Where on the car does this tailgate sit?
Fitted to the rear of the car, on the exterior, this is the panel at the back of the Song PLUS EV or DM-i, not a bonnet or a door. It is also listed under the reference SA3HK-6301010/70, so if that number turns up on an old part or a previous quote, it points to this same rear tailgate rather than a different component altogether.
