BYD Yuan Pro Parts

The BYD Yuan Pro is the 2021 restyle of the Yuan EV, a five-door electric crossover on the same 4,375 mm Dynasty-subcompact shell, built for the Chinese market only. Its bodywork and chassis parts largely carry over from the Yuan EV, but the battery does not: it swaps that car's NCM pack for an LFP Blade pack. Always order any high-voltage battery, module or management part against the exact car in front of you, never against the Yuan EV it visually resembles.

Symptom Finder: Known Weak Points

What you see or hearCheck first
Weak cabin heat in cold weather, with range falling at the same time The electric heater, its fuse and its wiring. The Pro has no heat pump, so the heater is the only heat source to check. Match the replacement by OE number.
Front discs rusty or pitted while the pads look almost new The front discs. Regenerative braking leaves the friction brakes lightly used, so corroded discs are common. Replace them in axle pairs with fresh pads.
Knocking or clunking from the rear over bumps The torsion beam bushes and the rear dampers. Inspect the bushes for splits first, then order by side and OE number.
Parking brake warning, or a rear brake that will not release The rear caliper, the electric parking brake actuator and its wiring. Order the caliper by side and by the OE number on the old unit.
Parking sensor warning after a light knock at the rear The four rear sensors in the bumper and their brackets. A bent bracket can cause the warning on its own, so check it before replacing the sensor.
Car will not wake, or shows scattered warnings after standing The 12 V battery, its earth points and connectors. Test the 12 V side first, since it powers up the rest of the car.
A battery or charging part offered from the older EV360 or EV535 Do not fit it. The older car used a ternary battery and the Pro a Blade pack. Order battery parts by the OE number on the old part.

About BYD Yuan Pro Parts

The Pro is BYD's five-seat subcompact electric crossover. It is the 2021 update of the older EV, the small electric crossover BYD sold from 2018 as the EV360 and EV535. The update brought a new front end in the style of the BYD Han and a lithium iron phosphate Blade battery in place of the earlier ternary pack. It measures 4,375 mm long, 1,785 mm wide and 1,680 mm high on a 2,535 mm wheelbase, and a single motor drives the front wheels. There is no engine, so it needs the parts of a small electric car: brakes, suspension, heating and cooling hardware, the 12 V wiring that wakes everything else, and the body panels and trim that city driving wears out. There are two runs, the 100 kW cars of 2021 and the 70 kW cars relaunched in 2023, and their drive and battery parts differ. Match the OE number on the old part to the listing before you order.

What to know before buying BYD Yuan Pro parts

Start by making sure the car is the one on this page. BYD has used the Pro name twice. This page covers the China-market car built from 2021, a restyle of the older EV. Its successor, the Yuan Up, launched in China on 26 March 2024. That is a different, newer car, and its parts do not suit this one. A 2,535 mm wheelbase and 205/60 R16 tyres are a quick sign that you have the car on this page.

The older EV is the car most often confused with it. The two share the 2,535 mm wheelbase, the 1,785 mm width and the 1,680 mm height, but the Pro's Han-style front end makes it 4,375 mm long against 4,360 mm. Treat front bumpers, grilles, headlamps and their brackets as different parts. The bigger change is underneath. Every older EV used a ternary lithium battery, while every Pro uses an LFP Blade pack, so battery packs, battery management parts and the high-voltage hardware around them do not cross between the two cars, even where the panels look alike.

The Pro itself comes in two runs, and they split the drive and battery parts. Cars from 2021 have a 100 kW motor with a 38.9 kWh or 50.1 kWh pack. After a pause in production, the car was relaunched on 31 May 2023 with a 70 kW motor and a 38 kWh or 47.04 kWh pack, along with DiLink 4.0 and an 8-inch instrument display. The body did not change size. Read the build date on the identification plate before ordering motor, battery, charging or cabin electronics parts, since it tells you which run you have.

Much of the running gear is simple and common to both runs. All cars use MacPherson struts at the front and a torsion beam axle at the rear, with an electric parking brake and 205/60 R16 tyres on both axles. Brakes are discs all round, ventilated at the front and solid at the rear on the 2023 cars. The car carries a space-saver spare rather than a full-size wheel. Four parking sensors sit in the rear bumper, so a rear bumper repair may need sensors and brackets as well as the cover. For painted panels, order by the colour code on the car rather than by the colour name.

Before You Order: 7 Checks

  1. Before you order anything, confirm the car is the China-market Pro built from 2021, not its successor, the Yuan Up, launched in China in March 2024.
  2. Match the OE number on the part you are replacing to the OE number on the listing, and order only when the two agree.
  3. Read the build date on the identification plate before ordering motor, battery or charging parts, since the 2023 relaunch changed all three.
  4. Treat front bumpers, grilles and headlamps from the older EV360 or EV535 as different parts, and order the Pro's own by OE number.
  5. Leave battery and battery management parts from the older EV off the order, since it used a ternary battery and the Pro uses a Blade pack.
  6. Read the size on the tyre sidewall before ordering tyres or rims, and expect 205/60 R16 on both axles.
  7. Order painted panels by the colour code on the car rather than by colour name.

Generations and Facelifts

The line goes back to March 2016, when BYD launched its small crossover with petrol, plug-in hybrid and electric versions. The electric car was reworked in 2018 as the EV360, with a 43.2 kWh battery and up to 305 km of range, and the EV535 followed with a 53.2 kWh battery. All of these older EV versions used ternary lithium cells, and the 2020 cars offered 40.62 kWh and 53.22 kWh packs.

The Pro arrived in 2021 as the restyled successor to the older EV. It took a new front end in the style of the BYD Han, which added 15 mm to the length, and it switched to a lithium iron phosphate Blade battery of 38.9 kWh or 50.1 kWh, rated at 301 km and 401 km on the NEDC cycle. A 100 kW motor drove the front wheels. For parts, the front end and the whole battery system are the break from the older EV.

Production stopped for a time as raw material costs rose, and the car was relaunched on 31 May 2023. The body stayed at 4,375 mm by 1,785 mm by 1,680 mm, but the motor dropped to 70 kW, the packs changed to 38 kWh and 47.04 kWh with CLTC ranges of 320 km and 401 km, and the cabin gained DiLink 4.0 with an 8-inch instrument display. Motor, battery, charging and some cabin electronics parts split at this point, so read the build date on the identification plate before ordering them.

The Pro had no further facelift. A new model, the Yuan Up, replaced it in the range when it launched in China on 26 March 2024. That is a different car, and its parts do not fit the Pro on this page.

BYD Yuan Pro Parts: Frequently Asked Questions

How do I make sure a part fits my car?

Match the OE number. Every part on this site is listed under the OE number printed on the original part, and if the number on the part you are replacing matches the listing, the part fits. That check matters on the Pro because it looks close to the older EV, and the 2021 and 2023 cars differ in motor and battery. If the old part is missing or its number cannot be read, send a photo through the quote form and we will reply within 24 hours, usually sooner.

Is the Pro the same car as the older EV360 and EV535?

Close, but not the same. The Pro is the 2021 restyle of the older EV and keeps its 2,535 mm wheelbase, 1,785 mm width and 1,680 mm height. It gained a new front end in the style of the BYD Han, which makes it 4,375 mm long against 4,360 mm, and it swapped the older car's ternary lithium battery for an LFP Blade pack. Match front bumpers, grilles, lamps and every battery part by OE number rather than assuming they cross over.

Will a battery part from the older EV fit my Pro?

No. The battery is the biggest change between the two cars. Every older EV used a ternary lithium battery, while every Pro uses a lithium iron phosphate Blade pack, so the pack, its management hardware and the high-voltage parts around it belong to one car or the other. Similar bodywork does not make them compatible. Order any battery, battery management or charging part by the OE number on the part you are replacing. Read the build date on the identification plate as well, since the Pro's own packs changed in 2023.

Is the Pro the same car as its successor, the Yuan Up?

No. BYD has used the Pro name twice. This page covers the China-market car built from 2021, a restyle of the older EV. Its successor, the Yuan Up, launched in China on 26 March 2024. That is a different, newer car, and its parts do not suit the older one. A 2,535 mm wheelbase and 205/60 R16 tyres point to the car on this page. Confirm each part by its OE number before ordering.

What changed when the Pro was relaunched in 2023?

Production paused as raw material costs rose, and the car returned on 31 May 2023. The body stayed the same size, but the drive and battery changed. The 2021 cars have a 100 kW motor with a 38.9 kWh or 50.1 kWh pack, while the 2023 cars have a 70 kW motor with a 38 kWh or 47.04 kWh pack. The cabin also moved to DiLink 4.0 with an 8-inch instrument display. Read the build date on the identification plate before ordering motor, battery, charging or cabin electronics parts.

How do I tell which battery my Pro has?

Start with the build date. The 2021 cars were sold with 38.9 kWh or 50.1 kWh packs, rated at 301 km and 401 km on the NEDC cycle. The 2023 cars came with 38 kWh or 47.04 kWh packs, rated at 320 km and 401 km on the CLTC cycle. Because 401 km appears in both runs, the range figure alone will not settle it. Read the build date on the identification plate, then order any battery part by the OE number on the part you are replacing.

What suspension and brakes does the Pro use?

It has MacPherson struts at the front and a torsion beam axle at the rear, the same layout as the older EV. Brakes are discs all round, ventilated at the front and solid at the rear on the 2023 cars, and the parking brake is electric. The rear calipers work with the parking brake, so they come as left and right parts. Order calipers by side and by OE number, and check the disc on the car against the listing before ordering pads.

What tyre size does the Pro use, and does it carry a spare?

Every Pro trim, in both the 2021 and 2023 runs, uses 205/60 R16 on both axles. One version of the older EV ran 215/55 R17, so wheels and tyres from that car are not always a match. The Pro carries a space-saver spare rather than a full-size wheel. Read the size on the sidewall of the tyres already fitted before ordering tyres or rims, and match the spare separately.

Why is the Pro's heater weak in cold weather?

The Pro has no heat pump. It heats the cabin with an electric heater that draws on the traction battery, so cold weather costs range as well as comfort. When the heat is weak, check the heater element, its fuse and wiring, and the air or coolant path it feeds, before suspecting the controls. Order the heater and any sensor or valve around it by the OE number on the old unit.

Why are the front discs rusty when the pads still look new?

Regenerative braking does much of the slowing on an electric car, so the friction brakes get less use than on a petrol car. In damp weather the discs can corrode and pit long before the pads wear out. Check the disc faces for scoring, pitting or a lip at the outer edge, and replace discs in axle pairs if they are past cleaning up. Order pads at the same time, matched by OE number, since fresh pads bed in better on fresh discs.

What else might I need after a rear bumper repair?

The Pro has four parking sensors in the rear bumper. A light knock can crack a sensor or bend its bracket even when the cover itself looks repairable, and a bent bracket alone can set off a warning. Check each sensor and bracket before refitting, and order replacements by the OE number on the old unit. For the cover, order by the colour code on the car rather than the colour name, so the paint matches.

Do body panels from the older EV fit the Pro?

Some may, but check before you order. The two cars share the 2,535 mm wheelbase, 1,785 mm width and 1,680 mm height, so much of the structure is common. The front end was redesigned for the Pro and the car is 15 mm longer, so front bumpers, grilles, headlamps and their brackets should be treated as different parts. For doors and rear panels, compare the OE number on your old part with the listing, and order only when they match.

Safety Recalls Affecting This Model

On 17 October 2025, BYD recalled 71,248 Yuan Pro battery-electric cars built between 6 February 2021 and 5 August 2022 under campaign S2025M0166I. The traction battery's sealing gasket could be fitted improperly, weakening the pack's waterproofing, so prolonged high-speed driving through water could let water in, dropping insulation and in extreme cases cutting output power. On a car in this build window, do not assume the fix has been done. Dealers applied a sealant to reinforce the pack housing free of charge, and did not fit a new pack, so ask for confirmation that the work was carried out and inspect the underfloor pack area for water history before ordering any battery, module or management part.

If a car falls outside those build dates, or the paperwork shows the remedy already applied, there is no open recall to act on. Anyone told otherwise about a car built after 5 August 2022 should ask for the campaign number and build date rather than take the claim at face value.
