BYD Yuan EV Parts

The BYD Yuan EV is a subcompact electric crossover built from May 2018, sold as the EV360 and, from 2019, the higher-range EV535 with a larger battery, a stronger motor and seventeen-inch wheels against the EV360's sixteen. It runs an NCM battery, not the LFP Blade pack BYD later standardised on, so order any part wired to the pack by grade and by OE number rather than by year or by looks.

Symptom Finder: Known Weak Points

What you see or hearCheck first
Car will not wake or go to ready although the main battery is charged Test the 12 V lead-acid battery first. The DC-DC converter keeps it charged, but a weak 12 V battery can stop the high-voltage system coming up. Order a replacement by the OE number on the old battery.
Weak cabin heat in cold weather The cabin is heated by a PTC heater in a water-cooled circuit. Check the coolant level and look for leaks in that circuit before ordering the heater, and match it by OE number.
Air conditioning blows warm The car uses an electric compressor with an electronic expansion valve. Check for refrigerant leaks and a compressor fault before ordering, and match the compressor by OE number.
Car charges on a fast charger but not on a home or AC charger Check the charging socket and its wiring, then the integrated module that houses the 6.6 kW on-board charger and DC-DC converter. Order by the OE number on the module.
Knocking from the rear over bumps Check the rubber bushes on the torsion-beam rear axle and the rear dampers. The bushes usually wear before the metal parts do, so look at them first.
Parking sensor warning after a light knock Check the sensor brackets in the bumper before replacing a sensor. Rear sensors are standard, and front sensors only on some trims, so match each sensor by the OE number on the old unit.
A replacement wheel or tyre does not match the other three Most cars run 205/60 R16, and the top EV535 trim runs 215/55 R17. Read the sidewall on a road wheel and order the same size.

Most Replaced Parts on the Yuan EV

  1. Front and rear bumper coversCovers differ from the shorter sibling and the restyled successor, so match by colour code
  2. Door skins, hinges and check strapsHinges and check straps take daily wear on a city car, so order by side
  3. Shock absorbers and strutsMacpherson struts at the front, dampers on a torsion-beam axle at the rear
  4. Wheel bearings and knucklesThe front hubs carry the drive, so match each part by side and number
  5. 12 V feeds, earth points and connectorsA 12 v lead-acid battery wakes the car, so check feeds and earths first

About BYD Yuan EV Parts

This page covers BYD's small battery-electric SUV of 2018 to 2021, sold as the EV360 from May 2018 and as the longer-range EV535 from March 2019. It is a five-seat, front-wheel-drive car, 4,360 mm long on a 2,535 mm wheelbase. A single motor, reducer and controller sit in one front unit, and a ternary lithium battery sits under the floor. There is no engine, so the car needs the parts of a small electric car: the drive unit and its cooling, the battery and its control electronics, the charging hardware and the 12 V system. It also needs the brakes, MacPherson front struts and torsion-beam rear axle of any small SUV. A restyled successor with a Blade battery replaced it in March 2021. The two look alike but use different batteries. Every part on this page is listed by its OE number, and matching the number on the old part is the surest check that a part fits.

What to know before buying BYD Yuan EV parts

Start by making sure which car you have, because three close relatives share much of its shape. The 2021 restyle that replaced it has a new Dragon Face 3.0 front end and is 4,375 mm long against 4,360 mm, with a 50.1 kWh LFP Blade battery and a 100 kW motor. The BYD S2, launched in April 2019, shares the 2,535 mm wheelbase and the 1,785 mm width but is only 4,110 mm long. The older petrol and plug-in hybrid model, sold from 2016, is listed at 4,320 mm on a 2,520 mm wheelbase. If the badges have gone, measure the wheelbase and the overall length, and look at the front end.

Those differences decide what crosses over. Front bumpers, grilles and lamps from the 2021 restyle do not suit the earlier front end of this car. Bumpers and overhang parts from the shorter S2 are made to a different length. Nothing from the high-voltage side of the restyled car fits, because its battery chemistry, pack and motor are all different. The S2 uses a ternary battery and a 70 kW motor like the EV360, so some of its parts may match, but only a matching OE number proves it.

Next, settle the grade. The EV360 has a 70 kW, 180 Nm motor and a ternary lithium pack of 43.2 kWh, later listed at 40.62 kWh. The EV535 has a 53.22 kWh pack, and most trims keep the 70 kW motor. Only the top EV535 trim has the 120 kW, 280 Nm motor, and it is also the only trim on 215/55 R17 tyres. The rest run 205/60 R16. The grade badge does not tell you which motor is fitted, so order the drive unit and its controller by the OE number on the old part.

Some equipment varies from car to car. Most cars have LED headlights, but some lower trims have halogen units, and the two do not interchange. Rear parking sensors are standard. Front sensors and a 360-degree camera were fitted only on some trims, so a bumper repair may need sensors, brackets or a camera as well as the panel. Order painted panels by the colour code on the car rather than by colour name.

Finally, the battery changed during production, so read the build date on the identification plate before ordering battery or charging parts, then match the part by OE number.

Before You Order: 7 Checks

  1. If you are unsure of the model, measure the wheelbase. 2,535 mm means this car, its 2021 successor or the S2, and 2,520 mm means the older petrol or hybrid model. Then check the front end and badge to rule out the 2021 successor.
  2. Match the OE number on the part you are replacing to the OE number on the listing before you order.
  3. Read the tyre size on the sidewall before ordering tyres or rims. Most cars run 205/60 R16, and the top EV535 trim runs 215/55 R17.
  4. Order any motor, reducer or controller by the OE number on the old unit, since an EV535 badge can mean either the 70 kW or the 120 kW motor.
  5. Never order battery, charging or motor parts from listings for the 2021 successor, since that car uses an LFP Blade pack and a different motor. Use the listings on this page only.
  6. Check the build date on the identification plate before ordering battery parts, since the EV360 pack changed from 43.2 kWh to 40.62 kWh during production.
  7. Check whether the car has front parking sensors or a 360-degree camera before ordering a bumper, and order painted panels by colour code.

Generations and Facelifts

The car grew out of a small BYD SUV first sold as the BYD S1 in 2015 and renamed in 2016, with petrol and plug-in hybrid versions. That car is listed at 4,320 mm long on a 2,520 mm wheelbase.

The 2018 facelift brought BYD's Dragon Face styling and a longer body, 4,360 mm on a 2,535 mm wheelbase. With it came the battery-electric EV360, launched in May 2018. It paired a 70 kW front motor with a 43.2 kWh ternary lithium pack for a range of 305 km on the NEDC cycle. In March 2019 the EV535 joined it with a 53.22 kWh pack and a 410 km range, and its top trim added a 120 kW motor and 17-inch wheels. In April 2019 BYD launched the S2, a shorter sibling on the same wheelbase. Outside China it was also sold in small numbers, including as the EV400. Later EV360 cars were listed with a 40.62 kWh pack, so battery parts should be matched by OE number and build date rather than by grade.

On 21 March 2021 a restyled successor replaced the EV360 and EV535. It kept the 2,535 mm wheelbase but gained a Dragon Face 3.0 front end, grew to 4,375 mm and switched to a 50.1 kWh LFP Blade battery with a 100 kW motor. The EV360 and EV535 had no facelift of their own between the 2018 launch and the arrival of that successor. Their high-voltage parts do not cross to the successor in either direction, and neither do their front-end panels and lamps.

BYD Yuan EV Parts: Frequently Asked Questions

How do I make sure a part fits my BYD EV360 or EV535?

Match the OE number. Every part on this site is listed under the OE number printed on the original part. If the number on the part you are replacing matches the listing, the part fits. That check matters on this car because its 2021 successor and the BYD S2 look much like it, and many of their parts differ. For battery or charging parts, also read the build date on the identification plate. If the old part is missing or its number cannot be read, send a photo through the quote form and we will reply within 24 hours, usually sooner.

Is the 2021 restyle the same car as the EV360 and EV535?

No. The restyle replaced this car on 21 March 2021. It sits on the same 2,535 mm wheelbase, but a lot changed. It has a Dragon Face 3.0 front end, it is 4,375 mm long against 4,360 mm, and it uses a 50.1 kWh LFP Blade battery with a 100 kW motor. The EV360 and EV535 have a ternary lithium pack and a 70 kW or 120 kW motor. Front-end panels, lamps and every high-voltage part therefore differ. Check the badge and the front end, then order by OE number.

What kind of battery does this car use?

A ternary lithium pack, often called NCM, built by BYD itself, rather than the LFP Blade battery BYD uses today. The EV360 launched with 43.2 kWh, later listed at 40.62 kWh, and the EV535 has 53.22 kWh. The 43.2 kWh pack is made up of 100 cells in 11 modules. Its battery management is split between a central controller outside the pack and three local controllers inside it. Read the build date on the identification plate first, then order modules, controllers and pack wiring by the OE number on the old part.

What is the difference between the EV360 and the EV535?

They are range grades with different batteries. The EV360 has a 43.2 kWh pack, later 40.62 kWh, for 305 km on the NEDC cycle. The EV535, added in March 2019, has 53.22 kWh for 410 km. Most cars of both grades use a 70 kW, 180 Nm motor on 205/60 R16 tyres. Only the top EV535 trim has the 120 kW, 280 Nm motor and 215/55 R17 tyres. The grade tells you the battery but not always the motor or wheels, so check the tyre sidewall and order drive parts by OE number.

Will a Blade battery or motor from the 2021 restyle fit my car?

No. The restyle's Blade pack uses lithium iron phosphate cells, while the EV360 and EV535 use ternary lithium cells. The two packs differ in chemistry, capacity and construction, and each is controlled by its own electronics. The restyle's 100 kW motor is also a different unit from either motor on this car. A shared body shape does not mean shared high-voltage parts. Treat the battery, battery management, motor, controller and charging hardware as specific to the EV360 and EV535, and match each one by the OE number on the part you are removing.

How is this car related to the BYD S2?

The S2 is a shorter sibling, launched in April 2019. It shares this car's 2,535 mm wheelbase, 1,785 mm width and 1,680 mm height, but it is 4,110 mm long against 4,360 mm, so the difference is all in the overhangs. Bumpers and the parts around them do not cross between the two. The S2 uses a 70 kW motor and a 40.62 kWh ternary pack, so some drive and chassis parts may match an EV360, but treat that only as a lead. Confirm every S2 part against the OE number before ordering.

What wheel and tyre sizes does this car use?

Most cars run 205/60 R16 tyres, and the top EV535 trim runs 215/55 R17. Most EV535 cars share the 16-inch size with the EV360, so the grade badge is not a reliable guide. Read the size on the sidewall of a tyre already fitted before ordering tyres or rims. The spare is a space saver rather than a full-size wheel, so do not use it to judge the size. For brake parts, go by the OE number on the old part rather than by wheel size.

What motor outputs does this car have?

There are two. The EV360 and most EV535 trims have a 70 kW, 180 Nm permanent magnet motor, and the top EV535 trim has a 120 kW, 280 Nm motor. The motor, reducer and controller form one three-in-one unit. The on-board charger and DC-DC converter share a separate integrated module. The two motor outputs do not interchange. The 17-inch wheels are a useful sign of the 120 kW car, but order the drive unit, controller or reducer by the OE number on the old part.

Does the model name on the car tell me which parts fit?

Not on its own. The grade badge shows the battery but not always the motor or wheels, since an EV535 can have the 70 kW or the 120 kW motor. The car was also sold in small numbers outside China, where it could carry a different model name such as EV400, and trim and equipment can differ by market. In every case, go by the OE number on the old part rather than the model name. If the number is unclear, send a photo through the quote form and we will reply within 24 hours, usually sooner.

Does this car have LED or halogen headlights?

It depends on the trim. Most cars have LED dipped and main beams, but some lower trims have halogen headlamps, and the two designs do not interchange. The tail lamps are LED. Look at the lamp on the car, or the OE number on its housing, before ordering a headlamp, bulb or lamp control unit. The 2021 restyle's Dragon Face 3.0 front end uses its own lamps, so do not order front lighting from listings for the restyle, and match every lamp by side as well as number.

Are the Atto 3 and Atto 2 related to this car?

No. BYD has used this car's family name on several different models. The Atto 3 and the Atto 2, sold under other names in China, are newer models with Blade batteries. They share no body or high-voltage parts with the EV360 or EV535. The older petrol and plug-in hybrid model, sold from 2016, shares the name too but sits on a 2,520 mm wheelbase. Measure the wheelbase, which is 2,535 mm on this car, and then order by the OE number on the old part.

Does this car carry a spare wheel?

Yes, a space-saver spare rather than a full-size wheel. It is narrower than the road wheels and does not match a 205/60 R16 or 215/55 R17 tyre, so it is meant to get the car to a repair rather than to stay on. If you are replacing a lost spare, jack or tools, order by the OE number on the parts still in the car. Before ordering rims or tyres, read the size on a road wheel rather than the spare.

Safety Recalls Affecting This Model

No campaign has been identified for the Yuan EV itself. Two campaigns touch nearby cars but do not cover it: the SAMR steering-column campaign of 2024, which applies to the Yuan Plus and the Dolphin, and the traction-battery sealing campaign of 17 October 2025, which applies to the LFP Yuan Pro. Neither lists the NCM Yuan EV.

Recall history is verified per exact car. If you have been told this model is affected by either campaign, confirm the VIN against BYD's current campaign lookup before any battery-side work, since the Yuan Pro shares this shell but carries a different pack.
