Symptom Finder: Known Weak Points
| What you see or hear | Check first |
|---|---|
| Ride height wrong or a suspension warning | The DiSus-P hydraulic body control. Check the build date first, since Flash Charge cars from May 2026 use DiSus-P Ultra, then order dampers and circuit parts by OE number. |
| Brake judder, squeal or uneven pad wear | Pads and ventilated discs at both ends. The car weighs about 3,300 kg, so check the rear as closely as the front, and order pads to suit the caliper fitted. |
| Engine warning light while the petrol engine is running | Start with the lambda and emission sensors on the 2.0-litre turbo engine, the usual first suspects on any petrol engine. Order by the OE number on the old sensor. |
| Knocks or clunks from underneath over rough ground | Control arm bushes, frame and crossmember fixings, and powertrain mounts. Find which end and side the noise comes from before ordering, since the parts are not the same at each corner. |
| Rattle from the tailgate | The full-size spare wheel carrier, its fixings and the tailgate hinges, which carry the spare's weight on every journey. Tighten or replace the fixings before replacing larger parts. |
| Driver-assistance warning after a light knock | The lidar or camera and its mounting bracket. A bent bracket can trigger the warning on its own, so check it first, and remember the rear lidar is only fitted to some 2026 cars. |
| Cabin slow to heat or cool | The blower, evaporator and heater core circuit. Check the blower motor and its resistor or controller before ordering a core, and match every part by OE number. |

About Fangchengbao Bao 8 (Denza B8) Parts
The Fangchengbao Bao 8 is a large plug-in hybrid SUV from BYD. It went on sale in China on 12 November 2024 and is sold outside China as the Denza B8. It is built body-on-frame, measures 5,195 mm long on a 2,920 mm wheelbase, and seats five, six or seven. All four wheels are driven by a 200 kW front motor and a 300 kW rear motor, working with a 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine. A Blade battery powers the motors: 36.8 kWh on earlier cars and 46.7 kWh on the Flash Charge edition. That mix means the car needs two kinds of parts: the motors, battery and DiSus-P body control of an electric car, and the oil, filters and emission sensors of a petrol engine. The frame, double-wishbone suspension and full-size tailgate spare add heavy chassis parts to the list. Every part here is listed by its OE number, and matching that number to the old part is the surest way to confirm fit.
What to know before buying Fangchengbao Bao 8 (Denza B8) parts
Start with the badge. The Denza B8 is the Fangchengbao Bao 8 under the name used outside China. The body is the same size under either badge: 5,195 mm long, 1,994 mm wide and 1,905 mm high on a 2,920 mm wheelbase. Search under either name, then confirm engine and electrical parts by OE number.
Do not confuse it with the Bao 5, its smaller sibling on the same DMO hybrid platform. The Bao 8 is 305 mm longer and its wheelbase is 120 mm longer. Body panels, glass, the frame and anything sized to the length of the car therefore do not cross between the two. Where a smaller part might be shared, the OE number is the only safe test.
Several things vary from car to car. The six-seater has captain's chairs in the middle row, the seven-seater uses a 2+3+2 layout, and a five-seater arrived in October 2025. The middle row is different in each. Chinese tables for the 2026 cars list differential locks at both ends, but not every car has a front one, so look at the front axle before ordering locker parts. Towing hardware also varies, and Chinese figures give three departure angles, 29, 23 and 18 degrees, depending on version. Roof height varies as well: the five-seater stands 1,875 mm without its roof rack and 1,905 mm with it.
Wheels are simpler. The standard tyre is 275/55 R20 at every corner, and a full-size spare rides on the tailgate. Order a spare rim or carrier part by the OE number on the old one rather than assuming it matches the road wheels.
Finally, read the build date on the identification plate before ordering battery, charging, suspension or driver-assistance parts. The Flash Charge edition, on sale from 13 May 2026, moved from a 36.8 kWh battery to a 46.7 kWh second-generation Blade battery. It also gained DiSus-P Ultra body control and a rear lidar alongside the front one. The bodywork did not change.
Before You Order: 8 Checks
- Treat a Denza B8 as the export Bao 8. Search under either name, then confirm engine and electrical parts by OE number.
- Match the OE number on the part you are replacing to the OE number on the listing before you order.
- Count the seats and look at the middle row before ordering seat or trim parts, since five, six and seven-seat cars differ.
- Look at the front axle for a differential lock before ordering front locker parts, since not every car has one.
- Read the build date on the identification plate before ordering battery, charging, suspension or lidar parts, since the Flash Charge edition of May 2026 changed all four.
- Read the tyre size on the sidewall, 275/55 R20 as standard, and order any spare rim by its own OE number.
- Check which towing hardware is fitted before ordering a hitch, receiver or trailer wiring.
- Order painted panels by the colour code on the car rather than by colour name, especially on cars with a two-tone roof.
Generations and Facelifts
The Bao 8 is the larger sibling of the Bao 5, which came first on BYD's DMO hybrid platform for body-on-frame off-roaders. The Bao 8 uses the same layout but sits higher in the range. It is 305 mm longer, its wheelbase is 120 mm longer, and it has room for up to seven seats.
It went on sale in China on 12 November 2024 in four versions, two with six seats and two with seven. Launch cars use a 36.8 kWh Blade battery giving 100 km of electric range on the WLTC cycle, a 2.0-litre turbocharged engine, and front and rear motors of 200 kW and 300 kW. They also have DiSus-P body control and Huawei driver assistance with a front lidar.
A five-seat version followed on 20 October 2025. It drops the third row, which gives the middle row 100 mm more legroom and makes the boot larger, so its rear seats and cabin trim are specific to it. Outside China the car is also sold as the Denza B8 in some markets.
The Flash Charge edition went on sale in China on 13 May 2026, with deliveries from mid-June. It carries a second-generation Blade battery of 46.7 kWh, which raises electric range to 150 km on the WLTC cycle, and it adds 1,000 V fast charging. Body control moved to DiSus-P Ultra, which can hold one wheel clear of the ground. Lidar is fitted front and rear, and the car gained infrared night vision and new two-tone roof colours.
The body and its dimensions have not changed since launch, and the Bao 8 has had no facelift. For battery, charging, suspension and sensor parts, check the build date on the identification plate.
Fangchengbao Bao 8 (Denza B8) Parts: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I make sure a part fits my Bao 8 or Denza B8?
Match the OE number. Every part on this site is listed under the OE number printed on the original part, and if the number on the part you are replacing matches the listing, the part fits. This matters on the Bao 8 because seat layout, differential locks, towing hardware, battery and suspension all vary from car to car, and the badge alone does not tell you which version you have. If the old part is missing or its number cannot be read, send a photo of it through the quote form and we will reply within 24 hours, usually sooner.
Is the Denza B8 the same car as the Fangchengbao Bao 8?
Yes. Denza B8 is the name used outside China for the Fangchengbao Bao 8. The body is the same size under both badges: 5,195 mm long, 1,994 mm wide and 1,905 mm high on a 2,920 mm wheelbase. The badge alone does not tell you which version you have, so check the seats, axles and build date as you would on any Bao 8. Search under either name, then confirm each part by the OE number on the old one.
Do parts from the Bao 5 fit the Bao 8?
Rarely, and never by assumption. The two cars share BYD's DMO hybrid platform and are both built body-on-frame, but the Bao 8 is 305 mm longer and its wheelbase is 120 mm longer. It also offers six and seven seats, where the Bao 5 is a five-seater. Body panels, glass, the frame and anything sized to the length of the car are therefore specific to each. Some smaller parts may share a number. Check the OE number on the old part against the listing before ordering anything from a Bao 5 page.
Does the Bao 8 use air suspension?
The Bao 8 uses DiSus-P, BYD's hydraulic body control, working with double-wishbone suspension at both ends. It raises and lowers the body by up to 200 mm, which is why ground clearance is quoted anywhere from 220 mm to 310 mm. Parts for a conventional air-spring system will not suit it, so do not order compressors or air springs for this car. Flash Charge cars from May 2026 use a newer version, DiSus-P Ultra, which can lift a wheel clear for a tyre change. Check the build date, then order dampers and circuit parts by OE number.
Does every Bao 8 have a front differential lock?
Not always. Chinese tables for the 2026 cars list locks at both ends on the versions shown, but not every Bao 8 has a locking front differential. The answer therefore depends on the version, and the badge alone will not tell you. Look at the front axle for a locker before ordering front locker parts or an axle part that works with it, and confirm each part by the OE number on the old one.
What tyre size does the Bao 8 use, and where is the spare?
The standard size is 275/55 R20 at every corner. The spare is full size and rides on the tailgate rather than under the car, so the tailgate carrier and hinges take its weight on every journey. Read the size on the sidewall before ordering tyres. Order a spare rim or carrier part by the OE number on the old one rather than assuming it matches the road wheels. If the tailgate has started to rattle, check the carrier fixings first.
It is a plug-in hybrid. Does the Bao 8 still need oil and filters?
Yes. Alongside its two electric motors, the Bao 8 carries a 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine, the BYD487ZQD. It needs engine oil, an oil filter and an air filter on the engine's own schedule, and it has the lambda and emission sensors of any petrol engine. The battery is small for a car of this size, 36.8 kWh on earlier cars, so the engine does much of the work on long trips. Plan services around the engine, and order filters and sensors by the OE number on the old part.
What changed with the Flash Charge edition?
The Flash Charge edition went on sale in China on 13 May 2026, with deliveries from mid-June. It uses a second-generation Blade battery of 46.7 kWh, up from 36.8 kWh, with 1,000 V charging and 150 km of electric range on the WLTC cycle. It also brought DiSus-P Ultra body control, lidar front and rear, and infrared night vision. The body did not change. Battery, charging, suspension and driver-assistance parts are the ones to watch, so read the build date on the identification plate and match each part by OE number.
How do I tell the five, six and seven-seat cars apart?
The six-seater has a 2+2+2 layout with captain's chairs in the middle row, and the seven-seater has a 2+3+2 layout. The five-seater followed on 20 October 2025. It drops the third row, which gives the middle row 100 mm more legroom and makes the boot larger. The middle row is different in each layout, and only six and seven-seat cars carry third-row hardware. Count the seats and look at the middle row before ordering seat frames, runners, belts or trim, then confirm the part by OE number.
Is the towing hardware the same on every Bao 8?
No. Chinese figures give three different departure angles for the car, 29, 23 and 18 degrees, depending on version, which shows the rear of the car is not the same on every example. Before ordering a hitch, receiver, trailer wiring or rear trim, check what is fitted to the car now, and match each part by the OE number on the old one.
What brakes does the Bao 8 use?
The Bao 8 has ventilated discs front and rear, and it weighs about 3,300 kg at the kerb, so its brakes work hard, above all when the car is towing or fully loaded. Wear is not always even between the axles, so check the rear pads and discs as closely as the front before ordering. Pads must suit the caliper fitted, so order them by the OE number on the old pads or the caliper rather than by disc size alone.
Which driver-assistance sensors does the Bao 8 carry?
The driver-assistance system comes from Huawei. Launch cars have a lidar unit at the front. The 2026 model added a rear lidar, optional on some cars and fitted as standard with the front unit on the Flash Charge edition. A unit from one version may not suit another, so the build date matters here as well as the badge. After a knock, check the mounting brackets as well as the sensor itself, then order each part by the OE number on the old unit.
