Frequently Asked Questions: OE 12216732-00
Is this the cover for the right-hand hinge?
The left-hand cover is a different OE number and a different listing, so ordering by name alone is not enough. Take the old cover off the hinge if you can and read what is printed on the inside face. You are looking for 12216732-00 or the alternative reference HAD-5608092. If the hinge is bare because the cover has already been lost, give us the vehicle details on the quote route and we will confirm which side you need.
The reference on the part I removed does not match. Is it a different cover?
A different number does not mean the wrong part. This cover sits under OE 12216732-00 and is also known as HAD-5608092, and both refer to the same right-hand item. What is printed on a moulding depends on who made the batch, so the reference on your old cover may not be the number in our title. If yours matches neither, stop there. Send the number and your vehicle details through the quote route, and we will match it against the fitment table on this page before you spend anything.
How quickly does this one move once ordered?
Allow 8 to 25 days for delivery, counted from your order to your door. The packaging details are shown on this page. If the timing is critical, ask on the quote route before ordering. The shipping cost for your country is shown on this page and confirmed at checkout before you pay. Before you order, check the OE number on your old part against the one on this page.
What material is this cover?
This cover is plastic, in black. Being a moulding, it takes its shape from the tool and cannot be bent to suit, so the hinge it fits has to be the one it was made for. Check your model on the fitment table on this page, then confirm the OE number 12216732-00 on the cover you are replacing.
Does the cover come finished, or does it need paint?
The colour of this one is black and it is supplied that way. It sits on the outside of the car at the boot lid hinge, so it is seen whenever the boot is opened. Nothing needs painting for it to match the cover on the other side, which is the same black. If your car has been resprayed or you want the cover to follow the body colour, that is a job for a paint shop and would be done after delivery. Look at the images on this page and judge the match against your own boot.
Why is there no second option on this page?
Only the Original/Genuine tier is offered for this cover, made by BYD. Nothing has been sourced on the Aftermarket side for OE 12216732-00, so there is no choice of tiers here and the price shown on this page belongs to the BYD part. It is supplied new and comes out of China. Should you want an alternative source investigated, send the OE number and the reference HAD-5608092 through the quote route with your vehicle details and we will come back with a straight answer either way.
