BYD Qin Pro DM Parts

The BYD Qin Pro DM launched in September 2018 as the plug-in hybrid Qin, pairing a 1.5T engine with a dual-clutch gearbox and a liquid-cooled NMC battery, either 9.03 or 14.38 kWh. The rear axle is set by trim rather than year or battery, so check underneath before ordering suspension parts, and match the pack to the range figure rather than the model year.

Symptom Finder: Known Weak Points

What you see or hearCheck first
A rear arm or bush does not fit a car that looks identical The rear suspension layout. Lower 2018 trims use a long-arm torsion beam and other cars use multi-link, so look under the car and reorder to suit.
Engine warning light Start with the lambda and emission sensors on the 1.5-litre turbo engine. Read the engine code first, since China V and China VI engines may take different sensors.
Judder or slipping when pulling away slowly The six-speed dry dual-clutch gearbox. Clutch wear is the usual cause, so check the clutch before the gearbox and order by OE number.
Parking brake warning, or a rear brake that will not release The electronic parking brake motor on the rear caliper and its wiring. Order the caliper for the correct side by OE number.
Car will not charge, or charges slowly The charging socket and cable first, then the charging hardware. Confirm whether the car has the 9.0 kWh or 14.4 kWh pack before ordering.
Coolant warning or a falling coolant level Coolant hoses, the expansion tank and the temperature sensors. Trace the leak to its circuit before ordering, then match the part by OE number.
A replacement tyre or wheel is the wrong size The car runs 225/60 R16 or 215/55 R17 depending on trim. Read the size on the sidewall and order to match.

About BYD Qin Pro DM Parts

The BYD Qin Pro DM is the plug-in hybrid version of the Qin Pro, a five-seat saloon launched in China on 20 September 2018. It went on sale alongside the all-electric Qin Pro EV and a petrol Qin Pro. It is 4,765 mm long on a 2,718 mm wheelbase and drives the front wheels through a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine, a 110 kW electric motor and a six-speed dual-clutch gearbox. That mix means the car needs two kinds of parts. It needs the oil, filters, clutch and emission sensors of a turbocharged petrol car, and it needs the motor, battery and charging hardware of a plug-in hybrid. Cars that look the same can differ in three places: the rear suspension layout, the battery pack and the engine tune. Every part on this page is listed by its OE number, and that number is the surest way to confirm a part fits.

What to know before buying BYD Qin Pro DM parts

Start by making sure the car is a Qin Pro DM. The Qin Pro was sold in three versions on the same body, 4,765 mm long, 1,837 mm wide and 1,495 mm high on a 2,718 mm wheelbase. The DM has both a fuel filler and a charging port, the EV has no engine and the petrol car has no traction battery. Body panels and glass may carry across between the three, but anything linked to the engine, gearbox, motor or battery must come from DM listings. The later Qin PLUS DM-i is a different car with a different hybrid system, and the first-generation Qin that came before is a different car too.

The rear axle is where most wrong orders happen. CarNewsChina's trim data lists the lower 2018 trims with a long-arm torsion beam and the higher 2018 trims with multi-link independent suspension, while every 2019 trim is listed with multi-link. The two layouts use different arms, bushes and hub carriers, and the badge will not tell you which is fitted. Look under the car before ordering any rear suspension part.

The battery is a separate question. The 2018 cars carry a 14.4 kWh ternary lithium pack with an 82 km electric range. For 2019, Super Power Edition trims added a 9.0 kWh pack with a 53 km range, and 2019 cars are listed with either pack. The smaller pack charges in about 3 hours on AC against about 4.4 hours for the larger one. Confirm which pack is fitted before ordering battery, mounting or charging parts.

The engine also comes in two versions. The 2018 cars use the BYD476ZQA, rated at 154 hp and built to China V emission rules. The 2019 cars brought in the BYD476ZQB, rated at 160 hp, on trims built to China VI. Read the engine code before ordering ancillaries or exhaust-side sensors, since the two may take different parts.

A few things vary from car to car. Tyres are 225/60 R16 or 215/55 R17 depending on trim, the same size front and rear, so read the sidewall before ordering tyres or wheels. Every car has ventilated front discs, rear discs and an electronic parking brake, so order the rear caliper as a parking brake unit for the correct side. For painted panels, order by the colour code on the car rather than by colour name. For anything that changed between 2018 and 2019, read the build date on the identification plate.

Before You Order: 8 Checks

  1. Confirm the car is a Qin Pro DM, with both a fuel filler and a charging port, and not a Qin Pro EV, petrol Qin Pro or Qin PLUS DM-i, then order from DM listings.
  2. Match the OE number on the part you are replacing to the OE number on the listing. A matching number is the surest check that a part fits.
  3. Look under the car at the rear axle to see whether it has a torsion beam or multi-link, then order rear arms, bushes and hub carriers to suit.
  4. Confirm whether the car has the 9.0 kWh or the 14.4 kWh battery pack before ordering battery, mounting or charging parts.
  5. Read the engine code, BYD476ZQA or BYD476ZQB, before ordering engine ancillaries or exhaust-side sensors.
  6. Read the tyre size on the sidewall, 225/60 R16 or 215/55 R17, before ordering tyres or wheels.
  7. Order the rear caliper as an electronic parking brake unit, for the correct side.
  8. Order painted panels by the colour code on the car rather than by colour name.

Generations and Facelifts

The Qin Pro followed the first-generation BYD Qin, a plug-in hybrid saloon that stayed on sale alongside it for a time. Parts from that earlier car belong to a different model. The Qin Pro was shown at the 2018 Beijing Auto Show and launched on 20 September 2018 in three versions: the DM plug-in hybrid, the all-electric Qin Pro EV and a petrol Qin Pro. It was the first BYD saloon designed under chief designer Wolfgang Egger and carries his Dragon Face grille. The 2018 DM cars all carry the 14.4 kWh battery with an 82 km electric range and the 154 hp BYD476ZQA engine. Their rear suspension is split by trim, with a long-arm torsion beam on the lower trims and multi-link on the higher ones.

The 2019 model year followed from March 2019. It added Super Power Edition trims, on sale by July 2019, with a smaller 9.0 kWh battery and a 53 km range. It also brought in the 160 hp BYD476ZQB engine on trims built to China VI emission rules. CarNewsChina lists every 2019 trim with multi-link rear suspension. For parts, 2018 and 2019 cars can differ in the battery, the engine ancillaries and the exhaust-side sensors, so read the build date on the identification plate and confirm each part by OE number.

The body was never restyled, and the Qin Pro DM has had no facelift. Only 2018 and 2019 model years were listed. Qin Pro production ran until March 2021, when the Qin PLUS took over. The Qin PLUS DM-i uses a different hybrid system, and its drivetrain parts do not suit this car.

BYD Qin Pro DM Parts: Frequently Asked Questions

How do I make sure a part fits my Qin Pro DM?

Match the OE number. Every part on this site is listed under the OE number printed on the original part, and if the number on the part you are replacing matches the listing, the part fits. That matters on the Qin Pro DM because cars that look identical can differ at the rear axle, in the battery pack and in the engine tune. If the old part is missing or its number cannot be read, send a photo of it through the quote form and we will reply within 24 hours, usually sooner.

Does the Qin Pro DM have a torsion beam or multi-link rear suspension?

It depends on the car. CarNewsChina's trim data lists the lower 2018 trims with a long-arm torsion beam at the rear and the higher 2018 trims with a multi-link independent set-up. Every 2019 trim is listed with multi-link. The two layouts use different arms, bushes and hub carriers, and neither the badge nor the battery size tells you which one is fitted. Look under the car before ordering, then match each rear suspension part to the OE number on the old one.

Which battery pack is in my Qin Pro DM?

Two ternary lithium packs were used. The 2018 cars carry a 14.4 kWh pack with an 82 km electric range. For 2019, Super Power Edition trims added a 9.0 kWh pack with a 53 km range, and 2019 cars are listed with either pack. Charging times differ as well, at about 3 hours on AC for the smaller pack against about 4.4 hours for the larger one. Confirm which pack is fitted, then match battery, mounting and charging parts by OE number.

What engine is in the Qin Pro DM?

A 1.5-litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine, in two versions. The 2018 cars use the BYD476ZQA, rated at 113 kW (154 hp) and built to China V emission rules. The 2019 cars brought in the BYD476ZQB, rated at 118 kW (160 hp), on trims built to China VI. The engine drives the front wheels through a six-speed dual-clutch gearbox, with a 110 kW electric motor. Read the engine code before ordering ancillaries or exhaust-side sensors, then match the part by OE number.

Do Qin PLUS DM-i parts fit the Qin Pro DM?

No. The Qin PLUS replaced the Qin Pro in 2021, and the Qin PLUS DM-i is a different car with its own body and a different hybrid system. It does away with the Qin Pro DM's dual-clutch gearbox. The two cars share the Qin name and little else, so engine, gearbox, motor, battery and body parts from a Qin PLUS DM-i should not be ordered for this car. Check that the car in front of you is a Qin Pro DM, then order from its own listings by OE number.

Do parts from the Qin Pro EV or the petrol Qin Pro fit?

Some may. The Qin Pro launched on 20 September 2018 in three versions on one body, 4,765 mm long on a 2,718 mm wheelbase: the DM plug-in hybrid, the all-electric Qin Pro EV and a petrol Qin Pro. Body panels, glass and cabin trim may carry across between them. The drivetrain does not, since the EV has no engine and the petrol car has no traction battery. Treat the other two versions as possible sources for body parts only, and confirm every shared part by OE number before ordering.

What tyre sizes does the Qin Pro DM use?

Two sizes are listed, 225/60 R16 and 215/55 R17, and each car runs the same size front and rear. The size depends on the trim rather than the model year, so read it on the sidewall of the tyres already fitted. If you are changing wheels, keep to the same diameter or change the tyres at the same time. The car has ventilated front discs and rear discs, so match brake parts by OE number rather than by wheel size alone.

Can I fit a rear caliper from another car?

Only one with the same OE number. Every Qin Pro DM is listed with an electronic parking brake, so the rear calipers carry a motor that applies the brake, and a caliper built for a cable handbrake will not work here. If the parking brake warning stays on or a rear brake will not release, check the caliper motor and its wiring before replacing the whole caliper. When you order, give the side of the car, then match the caliper to the OE number on the old unit.

What gearbox does the Qin Pro DM use?

Every Qin Pro DM uses a six-speed dual-clutch gearbox, which CarNewsChina lists as a dry-clutch design. Dry clutches wear with use, and judder or slipping when pulling away slowly is the usual first sign. The petrol Qin Pro was also offered with a six-speed manual, so do not assume gearbox or clutch parts from a petrol car will suit the DM. Check the clutch before the gearbox itself, then match clutch and gearbox parts to the OE number on the unit fitted.

It has a plug-in battery. Does the Qin Pro DM still need oil and filters?

Yes. The Qin Pro DM carries a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine that drives the front wheels, fed from a 39-litre fuel tank. It needs engine oil, an oil filter, an air filter and spark plugs on a regular schedule, along with the lambda and emission sensors of any petrol engine. A turbocharged engine works its oil harder than a non-turbo engine, so keep to the service intervals. Order filters and sensors by the engine code and the OE number on the old part.

What changed with the 2019 model?

The body did not change, and the Qin Pro DM was never facelifted. The 2019 model year, listed from March 2019, added Super Power Edition trims with a smaller 9.0 kWh battery and a 53 km range. It also brought in the 160 hp BYD476ZQB engine on China VI trims. CarNewsChina lists every 2019 trim with multi-link rear suspension. For parts, the battery, engine ancillaries and exhaust-side sensors can differ between 2018 and 2019 cars. Read the build date on the identification plate, then confirm each part by OE number.

Is the Qin Pro DM the same car as the first BYD Qin?

No. The first-generation Qin was an earlier plug-in hybrid saloon, and it stayed on sale alongside the Qin Pro for a time. The Qin Pro was a new design, the first BYD saloon drawn under chief designer Wolfgang Egger, with the Dragon Face grille and, on higher trims, a rotating 12.8-inch screen. Treat parts from the earlier Qin as belonging to a different car. If you are unsure which Qin you have, compare the grille and the screen, then order by the OE number on the old part.

Safety Recalls Affecting This Model

No recall affects the BYD Qin Pro DM. That checked status covers this model on its own terms, not by association with the rest of the Qin range, so it is worth being precise about what it does not cover. The SAMR campaign opened on 28 November 2025 over a traction-battery consistency defect names the Qin PLUS DM-i, a different bodyshell built on a different hybrid architecture with a different pack chemistry. If you have been told this car is included, check the model name on the paperwork against Qin Pro DM specifically, and match the VIN-plate model code, BYD7152WT6HEVB, if the name alone does not settle it. Do not order a replacement battery pack against that campaign for this car, and do not treat its absence from any list as a verdict either way, since this section reports only what has been checked, not what has been ruled out for good.
