Symptom Finder: Known Weak Points
| What you see or hear | Check first |
|---|---|
| Charging slow or failing on one DC socket | The socket on that side, its lid and its lock. The car has a DC socket on each rear side, so try the other one to narrow the fault, look for damage or burn marks, and order by side. |
| Brake squeal, judder or uneven pedal feel | Pads and the ventilated discs. Check first whether the car has the sport-package four-piston calipers, since the pads must suit the caliper fitted. |
| Unsettled ride or a suspension warning | The adaptive dampers and their wiring. The four-wheel-drive car is about 180 kg heavier than the rear-drive trims, so match dampers by OE number. |
| Parking sensor or driver-assistance warning after a minor knock | The ultrasonic sensors in the bumpers and their brackets. A bracket bent in a light impact can trigger the warning by itself, so check it before replacing the sensor. |
| Knock or clunk from the front over bumps | Control arm bushes and ball joints on the double-wishbone front suspension. These carry a car of over two tonnes, so inspect both sides and order by side. |
| Whine or vibration from the front on a four-wheel-drive car | The front induction motor, its reduction gearbox and its mounts, fitted only to the four-wheel-drive trim. On a rear-drive car, look at the rear drive unit and its mounts instead. |
| Coolant warning or a falling coolant level | Coolant hoses, the expansion tank and the temperature sensors. The system cools the battery and motors, so trace the leak to its circuit, then match the part by OE number. |

About BYD Han L EV Parts
The BYD Han L EV is the fully electric version of the Han L, a large saloon launched in China on 9 April 2025 on BYD's 1,000-volt Super e-Platform. Every car carries the same 83.2 kWh LFP Blade battery, a roof-mounted lidar and two DC charging sockets, one on each rear side. Two trims drive the rear wheels through a single 500 kW permanent-magnet motor. The top trim uses a 580 kW rear motor and adds a 230 kW induction motor at the front, for 810 kW combined. The drive layout therefore decides which motor, gearbox and mount parts a car takes, while the battery, charging hardware and body are common to all three trims. The car shares its name and much of its shape with the plug-in Han L DM, yet the two differ under the skin. Every part on this page is listed by its OE number, and matching that number on the old part is the surest check that a replacement fits.
What to know before buying BYD Han L EV parts
Start by making sure the car is a Han L EV. The Han L is larger than the Han saloon it sits above. It measures 5,050 mm long, 1,960 mm wide and 1,505 mm high on a 2,970 mm wheelbase, against 4,995 mm, 1,910 mm, 1,495 mm and 2,920 mm for the Han. The Han is still on sale and gained a flash-charging edition in April 2026, so fast charging alone does not mark a car as a Han L. The Han L DM shares the Han L name and shape but carries a 1.5-litre turbocharged engine and a 29.5 kWh battery, so a fuel filler flap tells you at once that the car is not the EV.
Next, establish the drive layout. Two trims drive the rear wheels through a single 500 kW permanent-magnet motor. The four-wheel-drive trim uses a 580 kW permanent-magnet motor at the rear and adds a 230 kW AC induction motor at the front. The front motor, its reduction gearbox and its mounts belong to the four-wheel-drive car only, and the rear motor is rated differently between trims, so order any motor or drive part by OE number. The four-wheel-drive car is also heavier, at 2,466 kg against 2,283 kg, so suspension parts that look alike may not be the same.
Charging hardware sits on both rear sides. The car can take two DC guns at once, through one DC socket at the rear left and another at the rear right, and it has an AC socket as well. A knock to either rear quarter can damage a socket, its lid or its lock, so inspect the side that was hit and order by side.
A few things vary from car to car. An optional sport package brings a black roof, sport trim, matte-black wheels and four-piston yellow calipers, so look at the brakes before ordering pads or calipers. The tyre size listed for all three trims is 245/45 R19, but read the sidewall before ordering. Every car carries a roof lidar, five millimetre-wave radars and 12 ultrasonic sensors, six in each bumper, so a bumper repair often needs sensors and brackets as well as the cover. For painted panels, order by the colour code on the car, since new colours arrived in November 2025.
The Tang L EV SUV shares the platform and some drive technology, but its body, glass and suspension are its own. Whichever car a part was listed for, the OE number on the old part is the check.
Before You Order: 8 Checks
- Measure the wheelbase if you are unsure whether the car is a Han L or the older Han: 2,970 mm is the Han L, 2,920 mm the Han. A fuel filler flap means the car is the Han L DM, so order DM parts instead.
- Match the OE number on the part you are replacing to the OE number on the listing before you order.
- Check whether the car has a front motor before ordering any motor, gearbox or mount part, since only the four-wheel-drive trim has one.
- Look at the calipers before ordering brake parts, since sport-package cars carry four-piston yellow calipers, and order pads to suit the caliper fitted.
- Read the tyre size on the sidewall before ordering tyres or wheels. Expect 245/45 R19 front and rear.
- Order painted panels by the colour code on the car rather than by colour name, since new colours arrived in November 2025.
- After a knock to either rear quarter, inspect the DC charging socket, lid and lock on that side, and order the replacement for that side.
- After a bumper repair, check the six ultrasonic sensors and their brackets in that bumper, and order each sensor by the OE number on the old unit.
Generations and Facelifts
The Han L sits above the Han, BYD's established large saloon, which stays on sale alongside it. The Han L is bigger in every direction, with 55 mm more length, 50 mm more width and 50 mm more wheelbase, so its body parts are its own. BYD first showed the Han L on 17 January 2025 together with the Tang L SUV, opened pre-sales on 17 March 2025 and launched both cars on 9 April 2025. The Han L came in two forms from the start: the Han L EV covered here, and the Han L DM plug-in hybrid with a 1.5-litre turbocharged engine and a 29.5 kWh battery. The Han L and Tang L were the first BYD models on the 1,000-volt Super e-Platform. The EV came in two rear-drive trims and one four-wheel-drive trim, all with the 83.2 kWh battery and a roof lidar.
The 2026 model was presented at the Guangzhou Auto Show in November 2025. For the EV it brought new paint colours, including olive green and Xizi blue, and software updates delivered over the air. The body, battery, motors and chassis did not change, so mechanical parts from launch cars still apply, and the parts that split at this point are painted panels. There has been no facelift.
Two later cars are easy to confuse with the Han L. In April 2026 the older Han gained a flash-charging edition with a second-generation Blade battery, and BYD plans to launch the larger Da Han flagship saloon on 13 October 2026. Both are separate models with their own parts, so match every part for a Han L EV by its OE number.
BYD Han L EV Parts: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I make sure a part fits my Han L EV?
Match the OE number. Every part on this site is listed under the OE number printed on the original part, and if the number on the part you are replacing matches the listing, the part fits. That check matters on the Han L EV because it shares its name with the plug-in Han L DM and much of its look with the older Han, and many parts differ between them. If the old part is missing or its number cannot be read, send a photo through the quote form and we will reply within 24 hours, usually sooner.
How can I tell a Han L from the older Han?
The Han L is the bigger car. It measures 5,050 mm long, 1,960 mm wide and 1,505 mm high on a 2,970 mm wheelbase, against 4,995 mm, 1,910 mm, 1,495 mm and 2,920 mm for the Han. The Han is still on sale, and in April 2026 it gained a flash-charging edition of its own, so fast charging alone does not identify a Han L. Body panels, glass and most chassis parts do not cross between the two. Measure the wheelbase if in doubt, then order by OE number.
Do Han L DM parts fit the Han L EV?
Some may, but the drive is completely different. The Han L DM uses a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine with a 29.5 kWh battery, in front-drive DM-i and four-wheel-drive DM-p forms, while the EV carries an 83.2 kWh battery and electric motors only. Engine, fuel, exhaust, battery, motor and cooling parts therefore do not interchange. Body and trim parts can look identical yet differ in fixings or connectors. Check that the car has no fuel filler flap, then match every part, body panels included, by OE number.
Which motor parts does my Han L EV take?
It depends on the trim. The two rear-drive trims use a single 500 kW permanent-magnet motor at the rear. The four-wheel-drive trim uses a 580 kW permanent-magnet motor at the rear and adds a 230 kW AC induction motor at the front, for 810 kW combined. The front motor is a different type of machine from the rear one, and the rear motor is rated differently between trims. The front motor, front gearbox and front mounts suit the four-wheel-drive car only. Confirm the drive layout, then order each motor part by OE number.
Why does the Han L EV have two DC charging sockets?
The car can charge from two DC guns at once, which is how it reaches its fastest charging speeds on BYD's megawatt chargers. One DC socket sits at the rear left and the other at the rear right, and the car has an AC socket as well. That puts charging hardware on both rear sides, so a knock to either rear quarter can damage a socket, its lid or its lock. Inspect the socket on the side that was hit, and order the replacement assembly for that side by OE number.
What tyres does the Han L EV use?
The specification lists 245/45 R19 tyres front and rear on all three trims, on 19-inch wheels. Bridgestone Turanza tyres were reported as an original fitment in that size at launch, and Michelin Primacy was also reported on the Han L, so the brand on your car may vary. Cars with the optional sport package run matte-black wheels. Read the size and load rating on the sidewall of the tyres already fitted before you order, and match wheels by OE number rather than by appearance.
Are the brakes the same on every Han L EV?
Every Han L EV has ventilated discs front and rear, but the calipers vary. An optional sport package brings four-piston yellow calipers along with matte-black wheels and a black roof, and the four-wheel-drive car tested by the press in 2025 wore red calipers. Two cars of the same trim can therefore carry different brake hardware. Look at the calipers on the car before ordering anything for the brakes, order pads to suit the caliper fitted, and match discs and calipers by the OE number on the old part.
Every Han L EV has a roof lidar. What does that mean after a knock?
Every trim carries BYD's God's Eye B driver-assistance system, with a roof-mounted lidar, five millimetre-wave radars and 12 ultrasonic sensors, six in each bumper. No trim goes without the lidar, so a repair to a bumper, the roof or the windscreen area can involve sensors as well as the panel or glass. A bracket bent in a light impact can cause a warning by itself. Check each sensor and its bracket after a knock, and order sensors by the OE number on the old unit.
What changed with the 2026 Han L EV?
BYD presented the 2026 Han L at the Guangzhou Auto Show in November 2025. For the EV the update brought new paint colours, including olive green and Xizi blue, together with software updates delivered over the air. The body, battery, motors and chassis did not change, so mechanical parts from launch cars still apply, and paint is where the update matters for parts. Order painted panels by the colour code on the car rather than by colour name, and match everything else by the OE number on the old part.
What suspension does the Han L EV use?
Double wishbones at the front and a five-link layout at the rear, with adaptive damping that switches between softer and firmer settings. The four-wheel-drive car weighs 2,466 kg against 2,283 kg for the rear-drive trims, so suspension parts may differ between the two even where they look alike. If the ride turns unsettled or a suspension warning appears, check the dampers and their wiring first. Order arms, bushes and dampers by the OE number on the old part, and by side.
Do Tang L EV parts fit the Han L EV?
Only where the OE number matches. The Tang L EV is the SUV launched alongside the Han L on 9 April 2025, and both are built on BYD's 1,000-volt Super e-Platform. They share charging and drive technology, so some high-voltage and drive parts may carry the same numbers. Bodies, glass, trim, lights and most suspension parts are specific to each car, since one is a saloon and the other a taller SUV. Check the OE number on the old part against the listing before you order.
Is the Han L the same car as the new Da Han?
No. The Da Han is a separate, larger flagship saloon that BYD is due to launch on 13 October 2026, with a quoted range of up to 1,008 km. The Han L EV remains its own model with its own parts. With the Han, Han L EV, Han L DM and Da Han all carrying similar names, wrong orders are easy to make. Before ordering, confirm which car you are working on, then match the part by the OE number on the old one.
