Symptom Finder: Known Weak Points
| What you see or hear | Check first |
|---|---|
| Brake squeal, judder or uneven pedal feel | Pads and discs. Look at the caliper first, since all-wheel-drive cars use a Brembo front caliper, and match pads and discs to the caliper fitted. |
| Knock or clunk from the front over bumps | Front strut top mounts and lower arm bushes. The front suspension is MacPherson strut on a heavy car, so inspect the bushes, then order by OE number and side. |
| Uneven wear on the rear tyres | Have the alignment checked, then inspect the multi-link rear arms and their bushes for wear before replacing the tyres. |
| Coolant warning or a falling coolant level | Coolant hoses, the expansion tank and temperature sensors. The system cools the battery and motor, so trace the leak to its circuit, then order the part by OE number. |
| Parking sensor or driver-assistance warning after a minor knock | The sensors in the bumper and their brackets. A bent bracket can trigger the warning by itself, so check it before ordering a new sensor. |
| Charging part ordered by model name does not fit | The 2025 model moved most versions to 800 V while the entry car stayed on 400 V. Read the build date and match charging parts by OE number. |
| Unsettled ride or a suspension warning | On cars with electronically controlled dampers, check the dampers and their connectors. Order the replacement by the OE number on the old unit. |

About BYD Han Parts
The BYD Han is a full-size, five-seat saloon. This page covers the battery-electric Han, sold in China as the Han EV. It launched in July 2020 as the first car to use BYD's Blade Battery, which has lithium iron phosphate cells. Most cars drive the front wheels through a single motor, and the top versions add a rear motor for all-wheel drive. There is no engine, so the routine parts are brakes, suspension, cooling, tyres and the cameras and sensors of the driver-assistance systems. Body, lighting and high-voltage parts changed with each update. The plug-in hybrid Han DM, DM-i and DM-p share the body but not the driveline. Every part here is listed by OE number, so match the number on the old part before you order.
What to know before buying BYD Han parts
Start by making sure the car is a battery-electric Han. The name also covers the plug-in hybrid Han DM, which was replaced in 2022 by the Han DM-i and Han DM-p. Those cars share the saloon body but carry a petrol engine, a fuel system, an exhaust and their own cooling, so driveline parts do not cross over. The Han L, launched in April 2025, and the Da Han, due in October 2026, are separate, larger cars. A Han EV has a charging socket and no fuel filler, and the badge settles the rest.
Next, check the drive. Most Han EVs have one front motor, rated at 150 kW, 168 kW or 180 kW depending on version. The top versions add a rear motor for all-wheel drive, with 363 kW on the 2020 car and 380 kW from the 2022 update. A dual-motor car carries a rear drive unit and its wiring and cooling, which a front-drive car does not have.
Charging and high-voltage parts split by date. The 2024 Honor Edition raised peak DC charging from 120 kW to 155 kW. From the 2025 model, launched in September 2024, every version except the entry car with 506 km of range runs an 800 V system, and the entry car stays on 400 V. Read the build date on the identification plate and match these parts by OE number, never by model name alone.
Body parts split at the updates too. The 2022 update brought a new front bumper with a taller lower intake, a slimmer full-width tail lamp and a new rear bumper. The 2025 model then gave the electric Han the same front styling as the hybrid. Bumpers, grilles and lamps from one side of either change will not suit the other. Order painted panels by the colour code on the car.
Finally, check what is fitted to the car you are working on. Driver-assistance hardware varies by version. The top 2024 car carried five radars and 11 cameras, and the top 2025 car added roof lidar. Check which sensors, cameras and brackets are fitted before ordering a bumper or windscreen. The all-wheel-drive cars use a Brembo front caliper, so match pads and discs to the caliper that is actually fitted.
Before You Order: 7 Checks
- Confirm the car is a battery-electric Han and not a Han DM, DM-i, DM-p, Han L or Da Han, then order only from listings for it.
- Match the OE number on the part you are replacing to the OE number on the listing before you order.
- Check whether the car has one motor or two before ordering drive unit or cooling parts.
- Read the build date on the identification plate before ordering charging or high-voltage parts, since the 2025 model moved most versions to 800 V.
- Check the build date before ordering bumpers, grilles or lamps, since the 2022 and 2025 updates changed the front and rear of the car.
- Read the tyre size on the sidewall before ordering tyres or wheels.
- Order painted panels by the colour code on the car, and check which sensors and cameras are fitted before ordering a bumper or windscreen.
Generations and Facelifts
The Han launched in China in July 2020 as BYD's flagship saloon and the first car with the Blade Battery. The electric Han EV was sold alongside a plug-in hybrid Han DM, and the top EV used two motors for 363 kW and 0 to 100 km/h in 3.9 seconds.
The car was updated in 2022. It gained a curvier front bumper with C-shaped gloss black trim, a taller lower intake, a slimmer full-width tail lamp and a new rear bumper, and the top version moved to an 85.4 kWh battery and 380 kW. The same year the Han DM was replaced by the Han DM-i and Han DM-p. Outside China it was also sold in continental Europe, badged simply as the BYD Han.
The Champion Edition followed on 17 March 2023, and the Honor Edition arrived on 28 February 2024. The Honor Edition raised peak DC charging from 120 kW to 155 kW and offered a driver-assistance package with five radars and 11 cameras on the top version. Neither edition changed the body.
The 2025 model launched in September 2024. It gave the electric Han the same front styling as the hybrid, moved all but the entry version onto an 800 V system and offered roof lidar on the top version. The car still measures 4,995 mm long and 1,910 mm wide, on a 2,920 mm wheelbase. The Han L, launched in April 2025, is a new design rather than a facelift of this car, and the Da Han, due in October 2026, sits above both. For parts, the 2022 and 2025 updates are the splits that matter, so check the build date on the identification plate before ordering body, lighting or charging parts.
BYD Han Parts: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I make sure a part fits my BYD Han?
Match the OE number. Every part on this site is listed under the OE number printed on the original part, and if the number on the part you are replacing matches the listing, the part fits. That check matters on the Han because the name covers electric and plug-in hybrid cars, one or two motors, and several updates that changed the body and charging hardware. If the old part is missing or its number is unreadable, send a photo through the quote form and we will reply within 24 hours, usually sooner.
Is my Han EV a 400 V or an 800 V car?
It depends on the version and the build date. On the 2025 model, launched in September 2024, every version except the entry car with 506 km of range runs an 800 V system, and the entry car stays on 400 V. The 2024 Honor Edition had already raised peak DC charging from 120 kW to 155 kW. Charging and high-voltage parts do not interchange across these changes, so read the build date on the identification plate and match each part by its OE number.
Do parts from the Han DM-i or DM-p fit my Han EV?
Some body parts may, but never assume it. The plug-in hybrid Han DM, replaced in 2022 by the Han DM-i and Han DM-p, shares the saloon body but carries a petrol engine, a fuel system, an exhaust and its own cooling, none of which the electric car has. The front styling also differed until the 2025 model gave both versions the same face. Treat each as a separate car, and confirm any part that looks shared by its OE number before ordering.
Is the Han L just a newer Han?
No. The Han L, launched in April 2025, is a new and slightly larger saloon with its own design, offered with electric and plug-in hybrid drive. It is sold alongside the Han rather than replacing it, and its body, glass, lighting and most of its running gear are specific to it. The Da Han, due in October 2026, is larger again at 5,256 mm long. Check the badge on the car and order only from the listings for that model.
How do I tell a single-motor Han from a dual-motor one?
Most Han EVs drive the front wheels through one motor, rated at 150 kW, 168 kW or 180 kW depending on the version. The top versions add a second motor at the rear for all-wheel drive, giving 363 kW on the 2020 car and 380 kW from the 2022 update, with 0 to 100 km/h in 3.9 seconds. A dual-motor car has a rear drive unit with its own wiring and cooling, so look under the rear before ordering drive or cooling parts, and match each by OE number.
Which parts differ on the all-wheel-drive Han?
Several. The all-wheel-drive Han adds a rear motor, so it carries a rear drive unit with its own wiring and cooling, and a second reduction gearbox with its own oil. The top version gave 363 kW at launch and moved to 380 kW with an 85.4 kWh battery at the 2022 update. It uses a Brembo front caliper and weighs about 2,325 kg, which works its bushes hard. Check whether electronically controlled dampers are fitted too. Confirm what is on the car and order each part by OE number.
What changed with the 2022 update?
The 2022 update reshaped both ends of the car. It brought a curvier front bumper with C-shaped gloss black trim, a taller lower air intake, a slimmer full-width tail lamp and a cleaner rear bumper. The top version also moved to an 85.4 kWh battery and 380 kW. Bumpers, grilles, lamps and their trim from before and after this change are not the same parts. Read the build date on the identification plate before ordering, and match each part by OE number.
What changed with the 2025 model?
The 2025 model launched in September 2024. It gave the electric Han the same front styling as the plug-in hybrid, moved every version except the entry car onto an 800 V system, and offered roof lidar with the DiPilot 300 driver-assistance system on the top version. The car still measures 4,995 mm long and 1,910 mm wide on a 2,920 mm wheelbase. Front-end body parts, charging hardware and sensors all changed, so check the build date on the identification plate and order by OE number.
Does my Han have lidar and radar sensors?
That depends on the version, and the badge does not tell you. The top 2024 Honor Edition carried a driver-assistance package with five millimetre-wave radars and 11 cameras, and the top 2025 car added roof lidar and a system with 31 sensors. Lower versions carry fewer. Before ordering a bumper, windscreen or roof part, look at the car for sensor housings and cameras, then order the sensors and brackets by the OE numbers on the parts being replaced.
Does the Han have Brembo brakes?
The all-wheel-drive Han uses a Brembo front caliper, which BYD pairs with an integrated Bosch brake control system. Not every Han is built that way, and front-drive versions may use a different caliper. Look at the caliper on the car before ordering pads or discs, since both must suit the caliper actually fitted. Then order the discs, pads and caliper parts by their OE numbers.
What tyre size does the Han use?
Some versions run 245/45 R19 on 19-inch wheels, and others run 245/50 R18 on 18-inch wheels. Because wheel size varies by version, read the size on the sidewall of the tyres already fitted before ordering tyres, wheels or wheel hardware. The all-wheel-drive car weighs about 2,325 kg, so fit tyres with at least the load rating shown on the old ones.
Does an electric Han still need regular servicing?
Yes, although there is less to do than on a petrol car. With no engine there is no engine oil or air filter to change. The car still needs brake fluid, coolant for the battery and motor cooling, cabin filters, wiper blades and tyres, and the reduction gearbox on each drive unit has its own oil. A dual-motor car has two drive units to service. Follow the schedule for your car, match fluids to specification rather than colour, and order filters and service parts by OE number.
