Symptom Finder: Known Weak Points
| What you see or hear | Check first |
|---|---|
| Engine warning light while the petrol engine is running | Start with the lambda and emission sensors on the 1.5-litre turbo engine. The engine runs in bursts between battery driving, and these sensors are the usual first suspects on any petrol engine. |
| Brake squeal, judder or uneven pedal feel | Pads and discs. Look at the caliper first, since cars with the 2026 sport package use four-piston calipers and the pads must suit the caliper fitted. |
| Knocking over bumps or vague steering | The front double wishbone arms, their bushes and ball joints. Order by position and side, and match each part by the OE number on the old one. |
| Driver-assistance warning after a windscreen or bumper repair | The cameras, radar units and their brackets. A bracket that is bent or seated wrongly can trigger the warning on its own, so check it before replacing the sensor. |
| Whine or a drive warning from the rear on an all-wheel-drive car | The rear motor, its mounts and connectors. Front-drive trims have no rear motor, so confirm the drive layout before ordering. |
| Coolant warning or a falling coolant level | Coolant hoses, the expansion tank and the temperature sensors. The car cools an engine, a battery and one or two motors, so trace the leak to its circuit before ordering. |
| Electric range well below the figure you expected | On cars updated from February 2026, check whether the Long Range function is switched on before looking at battery or charging parts. |

About BYD Han L DM Parts
The BYD Han L DM is the plug-in hybrid version of the Han L, a large saloon launched in China on 9 April 2025 alongside the fully electric Han L EV. It uses the same body as that car, 5,050 mm long on a 2,970 mm wheelbase. Power comes from a 1.5-litre turbocharged BYD472ZQB petrol engine and a 29.4 kWh Blade battery. Two trims drive the front wheels through a single 200 kW motor, and the all-wheel-drive trim adds a second 200 kW motor at the rear. That layout means the car needs two kinds of parts. It needs the oil, filters, timing parts and emission sensors of a petrol engine, and the motor, battery, cooling and sensor hardware of an electric car. The Han L is a newer and larger car than the standard Han, and the two do not share body parts. Every part on this page is listed by its OE number, and matching that number on the old part is the surest fitment check.
What to know before buying BYD Han L DM parts
Start by making sure the car is a Han L DM. BYD sells it alongside the standard Han, which also comes as a plug-in hybrid, but the Han L is a separate and newer design. It rides on a 2,970 mm wheelbase against 2,920 mm for the Han, and at 5,050 mm long it is up to 90 mm longer. Measuring between the wheel centres settles it. Body panels, lamps, glass and trim do not cross between the two cars.
The Han L EV is the closer relative and the easier one to confuse. It has exactly the same length, width, height and wheelbase, and the same God's Eye B driver-assistance hardware with a roof-mounted lidar. Underneath, the two cars have little in common. The EV has no engine, fuel tank or exhaust, and it runs a far larger battery on a 1,000-volt platform. Motor, battery, cooling and charging parts belong to one car or the other. Even a body or chassis part should be checked by OE number, because matching dimensions do not prove that a part fits.
Within the Han L DM, the drive layout is the main split. Two trims drive the front wheels through a single motor rated at 200 kW and 315 Nm. The all-wheel-drive trim adds a rear motor rated at 200 kW and 355 Nm. Rear motor parts, their mounts and the cooling that serves them apply to that trim only. The front and rear motors are different parts, so order each one by its position.
A few things vary from car to car. The front-drive trims run 245/45 R19 tyres on both axles with ventilated discs all round. The 2026 model added an optional sport styling package with matte-black wheels and four-piston calipers, so read the tyre sidewall and look at the calipers before ordering wheels, tyres or brake parts. The front-drive cars use double wishbone suspension at the front and multi-link suspension at the rear, so order arms and bushes by position and side. Order painted panels by the colour code on the car, since olive green and Xizi blue were added for 2026. After a windscreen or bumper repair, check the cameras, radar units and their brackets as well as the glass or panel.
No hardware change tied to a build date has been reported so far. If two listings show different OE numbers for the same part, read the build date on the identification plate and match it to the listing.
Before You Order: 7 Checks
- If you are unsure whether the car is a Han L or a standard Han, measure the wheelbase. 2,970 mm is the Han L and 2,920 mm is the Han.
- Compare the OE number on the part you are replacing with the OE number on the listing, and order only when they match.
- Before ordering any rear drive part, check under the car that a rear motor is fitted, since only the all-wheel-drive trim has one.
- Before ordering pads or discs, look at the calipers, since cars with the 2026 sport package have four-piston calipers.
- Before ordering tyres or rims, read the tyre size on the sidewall.
- Order painted panels by the colour code on the car, not by the colour name.
- After a windscreen or bumper repair, inspect the cameras, radar units and their brackets, and order each one by the OE number on the old unit.
Generations and Facelifts
The Han L sits above the standard BYD Han, which stays on sale as the cheaper saloon. The Han was updated for the 2025 model year in September 2024, when its plug-in hybrid moved to BYD's DM-i 5.0 system. It keeps its own body on a 2,920 mm wheelbase. The two cars share a name and a place in the range, but the Han's body parts do not fit the Han L.
The Han L was first shown on 17 January 2025, opened for pre-orders on 17 March 2025 and launched on 9 April 2025, the same day as the Tang L SUV. It arrived in two forms with the same body, the fully electric Han L EV and the plug-in hybrid Han L DM. The DM came in three trims, all using the 1.5-litre turbo engine and a 29.4 kWh Blade battery. The two front-drive trims had a CLTC electric range of 200 km, and the all-wheel-drive trim had 180 km.
The 2026 model was shown at the Guangzhou Auto Show in November 2025. It added olive green and Xizi blue paint and an optional sport styling package with a floating black roof, sport trim, matte-black wheels and four-piston yellow brake calipers. For parts, that means two new paint codes to match and, on package cars, different calipers and wheels.
On 11 February 2026 an over-the-air update added a Long Range function. It lifted the CLTC electric range to 225 km on the front-drive car and 195 km on the all-wheel-drive car, and it also brought driver-assistance and connectivity changes. It was a software change only, with no new parts.
The Han L DM has had no facelift, and no change to its body or drive hardware has been reported.
BYD Han L DM Parts: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I make sure a part fits my BYD Han L DM?
Match the OE number. Every part on this site is listed under the OE number printed on the original part, and if the number on the part you are replacing matches the listing, the part fits. This check matters on the Han L DM because it has the same body size as the Han L EV and shares its name with the smaller Han, and parts differ between all three cars. If the old part is missing or its number cannot be read, send a photo through the quote form and we will reply within 24 hours, usually sooner.
How can I tell a Han L DM from the standard Han DM-i?
Measure the wheelbase, which is the distance between the front and rear wheel centres. The Han L measures 2,970 mm and the current Han 2,920 mm. The Han L is also 5,050 mm long, against 4,960 to 4,995 mm for the Han. The Han L is a separate, newer design and not a stretched Han, so body panels, lamps, glass and trim do not cross between the two. The cars can look alike from a distance, so settle which one you have before ordering, then confirm each part by its OE number.
Do Han L EV parts fit the Han L DM?
Some may, but many will not. The two cars have the same body dimensions, 5,050 mm long, 1,960 mm wide and 1,505 mm high on a 2,970 mm wheelbase, but their drive systems are completely different. The EV runs a much larger battery on a 1,000-volt platform with far more powerful motors, and it has no engine, fuel tank or exhaust. Treat motor, battery, cooling and charging parts as specific to each car. For body and chassis parts, check the OE number on the old part against the listing before you order.
What does the all-wheel-drive Han L DM have that the front-drive trims do not?
A second motor. All three trims use a front motor rated at 200 kW and 315 Nm. The all-wheel-drive trim adds a rear motor rated at 200 kW and 355 Nm, along with the rear drive hardware, mounts and cooling that go with it. The two front-drive trims have none of these parts. Before ordering anything for the rear axle, look under the car to confirm that a rear motor is fitted. Order front and rear motors separately by OE number, since they are rated differently and are not the same part.
It plugs in. Does the Han L DM still need oil and filters?
Yes. The car carries a 1.5-litre turbocharged BYD472ZQB petrol engine rated at 115 kW and 225 Nm, fed from a 50 litre tank. The engine starts when the battery needs support. It needs engine oil, an oil filter, an air filter and a full set of lambda and emission sensors like any petrol engine. If the car is used mostly on battery, the engine may have run far less than the odometer suggests. Follow BYD's service schedule, and order engine parts by the OE number on the old part.
What tyre size does the Han L DM use?
The front-drive DM-i trims run 245/45 R19 on both axles. We have not confirmed the size for the all-wheel-drive trim from a published source. Cars with the 2026 sport styling package also carry matte-black wheels. Before ordering tyres or rims, read the size printed on the sidewall of the tyres already on the car. Order tyres in matching sizes, and match wheel bolts and centre caps to the wheel fitted by the OE number on the old part.
What brakes does the Han L DM have?
Published specifications show ventilated discs on all four wheels of the front-drive DM-i. The 2026 model added an optional sport styling package with four-piston calipers finished in yellow, so not every car has the same caliper. Look at the caliper on the car before ordering pads, since pads must suit the caliper fitted. Order calipers by side and by the OE number on the old unit. Match discs the same way, by OE number and not by model name.
What suspension does the Han L DM use?
The front-drive DM-i has double wishbone independent suspension at the front and multi-link independent suspension at the rear. That layout has more arms and bushes than a simpler strut design, and each one has its own position and part number. A front-drive car weighs 2,095 kg, so the bushes and ball joints carry a steady load. Order each arm by position and side, and match it to the OE number on the old part. The all-wheel-drive car adds a rear motor, so check rear subframe parts against that trim's own listing.
Does the Han L DM have lidar and cameras I need to think about in a repair?
Yes. Every trim carries BYD's God's Eye B driver-assistance system with a roof-mounted lidar sensor. Published specifications list 12 cameras and 5 radar units on the front-drive DM-i. After a windscreen replacement, a bumper repair or work on the roof, you may need to replace those sensors and their brackets along with the glass or panel. Order each sensor and bracket by the OE number on the old unit, and plan for calibration once they are fitted.
What changed with the 2026 model?
The 2026 Han L was shown at the Guangzhou Auto Show in November 2025. It added two paint colours, olive green and Xizi blue, and an optional styling package with a floating black roof, sport trim, matte-black wheels and four-piston yellow brake calipers. No change to the body shape or the drive has been reported, and there has been no facelift. For parts, order painted panels by the colour code on the car. On cars with the package, check the calipers and wheels before ordering brake parts or rims.
Did the February 2026 software update change any parts?
No hardware change has been reported. The over-the-air update released on 11 February 2026 added a Long Range function. It lifts the CLTC electric range of the front-drive car from 200 km to 225 km, and of the all-wheel-drive car from 180 km to 195 km. The same update brought driver-assistance and connectivity changes. It works with the existing battery and motors, so parts are the same for cars before and after the update. If two part numbers look different, go by the OE number on the old part.
What battery does the Han L DM use?
All three trims use a 29.4 kWh Blade battery. At launch, it gave a CLTC electric range of 200 km on the front-drive cars and 180 km on the all-wheel-drive car. The pack is a large high-voltage part. Order battery, high-voltage cabling and battery cooling parts only by the OE number on the old unit, and have them fitted by someone trained on high-voltage systems. If the old part's number cannot be read, send a photo through the quote form and we will reply within 24 hours, usually sooner.
