Symptom Finder: Known Weak Points
| What you see or hear | Check first |
|---|---|
| Unsettled ride or a suspension warning | The DiSus-C adaptive dampers and their wiring. Every trim has them, so replace a damper only with the adaptive unit, matched by OE number. |
| Driver-assistance warning after a windscreen replacement | The camera hardware at the top of the screen and its bracket. Make sure the glass suits the system fitted, God's Eye B or God's Eye C, by matching its OE number. |
| Lidar or driver-assistance warning on a 135 Performance | The roof-mounted lidar unit and its housing. Look for impact or water damage first, then order the sensor by the OE number on the old unit. |
| DC charging never goes above about 53 kW | That is the car's peak DC rate and not a fault. If charging is much slower or fails, inspect the charging socket and its pins before ordering by OE number. |
| Engine warning light | Start with the engine sensors on the 1.5-litre turbo engine, including the lambda sensors, then match any replacement by OE number. |
| Weak cabin cooling or heating | Check the cabin filter and blower motor first, then the evaporator and heater core. Order each part by the OE number on the old one. |
| Brake squeal or rusty discs on a car driven mostly on electric power | Pads and discs. Regenerative braking means the friction brakes do less work, so discs can corrode before they wear out. Order both by OE number. |

About BYD Sealion 07 DM-i Parts
The BYD Sealion 07 DM-i is a five-seat plug-in hybrid SUV sold through BYD's Ocean network. It went on sale on 8 May 2025 and replaced the Frigate 07. It is 4,880 mm long on a 2,820 mm wheelbase. Every version pairs a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine with a 200 kW front motor, a 26.6 kWh Blade battery and an E-CVT hybrid transmission. The top 135 Performance trim adds a 150 kW rear motor for all-wheel drive. That means the car needs two kinds of parts: the oil, filters and timing parts of a petrol engine that may run only now and then, and the battery, charging and electronic hardware of an electric car. DiSus-C adaptive damping is standard on every trim. Every part on this page is listed by its OE number, and matching the number on the old part is the surest way to confirm a fit.
What to know before buying BYD Sealion 07 DM-i parts
Start by making sure the car is a Sealion 07 DM-i and not the Frigate 07 it replaced. The two share a 2,820 mm wheelbase, a 1,920 mm width and a 1,750 mm height, but the Sealion is 60 mm longer at 4,880 mm against 4,820 mm. It also has a closed front panel with a full-width light strip and C-shaped tail lamps, while the Frigate 07 keeps its older front and its own tail lamp design. Lamps, bumpers and front-end panels therefore do not cross between the two.
Under the skin the change goes further than the shared dimensions suggest. The Frigate 07 used double-wishbone front suspension, and the Sealion 07 DM-i uses MacPherson struts at the front with a multi-link rear, so front arms, knuckles and dampers do not interchange. The driveline is new as well. Engine output rose from 102 kW to 115 kW, the battery is a 26.6 kWh pack on every trim and peak DC charging rose from 40 kW to 53 kW. Order engine, hybrid transmission, battery and charging parts for this car alone.
Two other names cause wrong orders. The Sealion 07 EV is a battery-electric sister model with no engine, and the Seal 07 DM-i is a saloon. Neither shares its driveline with this car, so check the badge before ordering.
Within the range, the trim decides several parts. The 150 Pilot and 150 Pilot Plus are front-wheel drive on a single 200 kW motor. The 135 Performance adds a 150 kW rear motor and all-wheel drive, so rear motor, rear driveshaft and rear cooling parts belong to that trim only. It also carries the God's Eye B driver-assistance system with one roof-mounted lidar unit, where the other two trims use God's Eye C with a triple-camera set. Roof, headlining and sensor parts should be matched to the trim by OE number.
A few things vary from car to car. The Lingyuan drone system, developed with DJI, was an option, and a car fitted with it stands 1,940 mm tall with its own roof hardware. DiSus-C adaptive damping is standard on every trim, so every damper is an electronically controlled unit and a passive strut is no substitute. All trims were built on 245/50 R20 tyres with 20-inch alloys. Order painted panels by the colour code on the car rather than by colour name, and confirm every part against the OE number on the old one.
Before You Order: 8 Checks
- Check the length and the tail lamps to tell a Sealion 07 DM-i from a Frigate 07. A length of 4,880 mm and C-shaped tail lamps mean a Sealion, so order for the Sealion only.
- Match the OE number on the part you are replacing to the OE number on the listing before you order.
- Confirm the car is the all-wheel-drive 135 Performance before ordering any rear motor, rear driveshaft or rear cooling part.
- Look for a lidar unit on the roof before ordering roof, headlining or driver-assistance parts, and match them to the trim fitted.
- Check the roof for the optional drone hangar before ordering roof panels, rails or seals.
- Order dampers as DiSus-C adaptive units by OE number, since every trim has them, and never fit a passive strut.
- Order painted panels by the colour code on the car rather than by colour name.
- Read the size on the tyre sidewall, 245/50 R20 as built, before ordering tyres or rims.
Generations and Facelifts
The Sealion 07 DM-i grew out of the BYD Frigate 07, a plug-in hybrid SUV launched in December 2022 and sold through the same Ocean network. The Frigate 07 came as a front-drive DM-i with an 18.3 kWh battery and an all-wheel-drive DM-p with a 36.8 kWh battery, both built around a 102 kW 1.5-litre turbo engine. It had no facelift during its production run.
The Sealion 07 DM-i made its debut in March 2025 and went on sale on 8 May 2025, taking over from the Frigate 07. It kept the older car's wheelbase, width and height and changed most of the rest. It gained 60 mm of length and new front and rear lighting, and MacPherson front suspension replaced the double wishbones. It moved to BYD's fifth-generation DM hybrid system with a 115 kW engine, a 26.6 kWh Blade battery on every version and 53 kW DC charging. DiSus-C damping and driver assistance became standard across the range, where the entry Frigate 07 had only cruise control. For parts, the Frigate 07 is a guide to the car's size and little else, so confirm every part by OE number.
The car sits in the Sealion family alongside the battery-electric Sealion 07 EV and the smaller Sealion 05 DM-i and Sealion 06 DM-i, each with its own parts. BYD has updated the Sealion 05 DM-i and Sealion 06 DM-i for 2026. So far the Sealion 07 DM-i has had no facelift or model-year update, so its parts do not yet split by build date. If an update arrives, read the build date on the identification plate before ordering.
BYD Sealion 07 DM-i Parts: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I make sure a part fits my BYD Sealion 07 DM-i?
Match the OE number. Every part on this site is listed under the OE number printed on the original part, and if the number on the part you are replacing matches the listing, the part fits. That check matters on this car because it is the same size as the Frigate 07 it replaced but has different suspension, lighting and driveline. If the old part is missing or its number cannot be read, send a photo of it through the quote form and we will reply within 24 hours, usually sooner.
Is the Sealion 07 DM-i the same car as the Sealion 07 EV?
No. The Sealion 07 EV is the battery-electric sister model, which has no petrol engine. In some markets outside China it is sold as the Sealion 7. The Sealion 07 DM-i is the plug-in hybrid, with a 1.5-litre turbo engine, a 26.6 kWh battery and an E-CVT hybrid transmission. The Seal 07 DM-i is a different car again, a saloon. Engine, transmission, battery and charging parts do not cross between these models, so check the badge and match every part by the OE number on the old one.
Will parts from a Frigate 07 fit my Sealion 07 DM-i?
Far fewer than the shared dimensions suggest. Both cars have a 2,820 mm wheelbase, a 1,920 mm width and a 1,750 mm height. The Sealion replaced the double-wishbone front suspension with MacPherson struts, and it has new lamps and a new front end. It also moved to BYD's fifth-generation DM hybrid system, with a stronger engine, a new battery and faster DC charging. Do not take suspension, lighting, engine, transmission, battery or charging parts listed for the Frigate 07. For anything else, compare OE numbers before you order.
How can I tell a Sealion 07 DM-i from a Frigate 07?
Look at the ends of the car. The Sealion 07 DM-i has a closed front panel with a full-width light strip and C-shaped tail lamps, and it is 60 mm longer, at 4,880 mm against 4,820 mm. The Frigate 07 keeps its older front and its own tail lamp design. From the side the two look much alike, because the wheelbase, width and height are the same. Once you know which car you have, confirm each part by the OE number on the part you are replacing.
Which trim has the rear motor and all-wheel drive?
Only the 135 Performance. It adds a 150 kW rear motor to the 200 kW front motor used on every trim. The 150 Pilot and 150 Pilot Plus are front-wheel drive on the front motor alone. The rear motor, its driveshafts and its cooling parts are fitted only to the 135 Performance, and a front-drive car has nowhere to mount them. Before ordering anything for the rear drive, check which trim the car is, then match the part by the OE number on the old unit.
Which versions have lidar, and what does that mean for a windscreen or roof repair?
The 135 Performance carries the God's Eye B system, with a single lidar unit mounted on the roof. The 150 Pilot and 150 Pilot Plus use God's Eye C, which relies on a triple-camera set and has no lidar. Roof panels, headlining and sensor brackets can therefore differ between trims, and the camera hardware at the top of the windscreen must suit the system fitted. Check the roof for the lidar before ordering, and match glass, brackets and sensors by OE number.
Can I fit a conventional damper instead of the adaptive one?
No. DiSus-C adaptive damping is standard on every Sealion 07 DM-i, so each damper is an electronically controlled unit with its own wiring. A passive damper of the same length and mounting pattern cannot connect to the system and cannot change its damping, so it is not a fit for this car. Order the DiSus-C damper by the OE number on the old unit, and check the springs and top mounts at the same time, since they are listed by OE number too.
What tyre size does the Sealion 07 DM-i use?
Every trim was built on 245/50 R20 tyres with 20-inch alloy wheels, so the size is the same on the 150 Pilot, the 150 Pilot Plus and the 135 Performance. Wheels and tyres may have been changed since the car left the factory. Read the size on the sidewall of the tyres fitted before you order, and match a replacement rim by its OE number rather than by diameter alone.
It is a plug-in hybrid. Does it still need oil and filters?
Yes. The 1.5-litre turbocharged engine charges the battery and can also drive the front wheels, so it needs engine oil, an oil filter, an air filter and the usual engine sensors, like any petrol engine. On a car that is charged often, the engine may run very little, and oil can age by the calendar before the mileage suggests a service. Follow the service schedule in the handbook, and order filters and engine parts by the OE number on the old part.
What does the drone option mean for roof parts?
The Lingyuan drone system, developed with DJI, was offered as an option. Cars fitted with it carry a drone hangar on the roof, which raises the overall height from 1,750 mm to 1,940 mm. Roof hardware on those cars differs from a car without the system, so do not mix parts between the two. Look at the roof before ordering roof panels, rails, seals or trim, and match each part by the OE number on the old one.
How fast does it charge, and do charging parts from the Frigate 07 fit?
The Sealion 07 DM-i accepts DC charging at up to 53 kW, against 40 kW on the Frigate 07, and every trim uses a 26.6 kWh Blade battery. The Frigate 07 used different batteries, 18.3 kWh on the DM-i and 36.8 kWh on the DM-p. Order charging sockets, charging hardware and battery parts for this car only, never those listed for the Frigate 07. Match each part by the OE number on the old one before you order.
Has the Sealion 07 DM-i had a facelift or model-year update?
Not so far. The car went on sale on 8 May 2025 and has had no facelift or model-year update, so its parts do not split by build date. BYD has updated the smaller Sealion 05 DM-i and Sealion 06 DM-i for 2026, as well as the Seal 07 DM-i saloon, so do not take parts from those listings. If an update follows, read the build date on the identification plate before ordering, and match each part by OE number.
Safety Recalls Affecting This Model
If you have been told otherwise, check what you were actually quoted. The Chinese names for Sealion and Seal differ by a single character, and a search for this car easily returns the Seal 07 DM-i or the Sealion 06 DM-i instead, both different vehicles with their own recall histories. Confirm the badge on the car in front of you before assuming a notice applies here.
