BYD Sealion 7 Parts

The Sealion 7 sells only outside China, with an 82.5 kWh pack, or 91.3 kWh on the European Excellence, neither of which the Chinese-market Sealion 07 EV ever carried. Confirm the market before ordering any pack, charger or high-voltage part, since domestic figures do not apply. A single rear motor drives entry cars, while dual-motor cars add a front motor, so check the drivetrain before ordering matched pairs.

Symptom Finder: Known Weak Points

What you see or hearCheck first
Parking sensor or driver-assistance warning after a minor knock The sensors and radar in the bumpers and their brackets. A bracket bent in a light impact can trigger the warning by itself, so check it before replacing the sensor, then match the part by OE number.
Knock or clunk from the suspension over bumps Control arm bushes and ball joints. The car weighs well over two tonnes, which works the bushes hard, so inspect both sides of the axle and order by side.
Hum or growl that rises with road speed Wheel bearings. Find the corner first, and remember that front hubs on an all-wheel-drive car carry a driveshaft, so order by position and drive layout.
DC charging slower than expected First confirm which battery the car has. Then inspect the inlet and its wiring, and match any part by OE number.
Cabin slow to cool or heat The heat pump and air-conditioning circuit, including the compressor and the condenser behind the front bumper, which is exposed to stone damage. Trace the leak or fault before ordering.
Rear tyres wearing faster than the fronts On 19-inch cars the rears are a wider 255/45 R19 and cannot be swapped with the fronts. Check the alignment, then order the rear size specifically.
Brake judder or squeal after the car has stood Pads and discs. Regenerative braking means the friction brakes are used lightly, so discs can corrode. Inspect the disc faces and order discs and pads by axle.

About BYD Sealion 7 Parts

The BYD Sealion 7 is a five-seat, battery-electric mid-size SUV, 4,830 mm long on a 2,930 mm wheelbase, built on BYD's e-Platform 3.0 Evo. It went on sale in China as the Sealion 07 EV in May 2024 and has been exported as the Sealion 7 since late 2024. It has no engine, so its parts are those of a heavy electric car. That means suspension, bushes, bearings and brakes carrying well over two tonnes, cooling and heat pump hardware for the battery and cabin, and the cameras and sensors built into the bumpers. Most high-voltage and drive parts depend on two things. The first is the drive layout: a single rear motor, or a rear motor plus a front motor. The second is the battery, which varies by version. Every part on this page is listed by its OE number, and that number is the surest way to confirm a part fits.

What to know before buying BYD Sealion 7 parts

Start by making sure the car is a Sealion 7. In China the same car was sold as the Sealion 07 EV, and both names cover one body: 4,830 mm long, 1,925 mm wide and 1,620 mm tall on a 2,930 mm wheelbase. The Sealion 07 DM-i is a different car. It is a plug-in hybrid with a petrol engine that replaced the Frigate 07, and its parts do not fit here. The same goes for the Sealion 6 and Sealion 5 DM-i sold in some export markets, which are plug-in hybrids from BYD's Song family. A fuel filler flap settles it at a glance, because the Sealion 7 does not have one.

Next, confirm the drive layout. A rear-drive car has one motor at the back, rated at 170 kW or 230 kW depending on the version. An all-wheel-drive car keeps a 230 kW rear motor and adds a 160 kW motor on the front axle, for 390 kW combined. The front motor is a different unit from the rear one, and the front driveshafts and their hardware exist only on the all-wheel-drive car. Order each motor by its axle and match it by OE number.

The battery depends on the version. Chinese cars carry 71.8 kWh or 80.64 kWh packs. Export cars use different packs, so a battery part listed for a Chinese car may not suit a car sold elsewhere. The badge and trim name do not tell you which pack or charging hardware is fitted. Match battery, charging and high-voltage parts by the OE number on the part.

Wheels and tyres vary by version. Nineteen-inch wheels are staggered, with 235/50 R19 at the front and 255/45 R19 at the rear, so front and rear tyres cannot swap axles. Twenty-inch wheels run 245/45 R20 on all four corners. Read the size on the sidewall of each axle before ordering.

Towing hardware follows the drive layout. Rear-drive cars are rated at 750 kg braked and all-wheel-drive cars at 1,500 kg, with 750 kg unbraked for both, so order a tow bar to suit the layout fitted. Finally, the parking sensors, radar and cameras sit in and around the bumpers, so a bumper repair often needs sensors and brackets as well as the panel. Order painted panels by the colour code on the car rather than by colour name.

Before You Order: 7 Checks

  1. Confirm the car is a Sealion 7 or Sealion 07 EV and not a Sealion 07 DM-i, Sealion 6 or Sealion 5 DM-i. Those are plug-in hybrids and their parts do not fit, so check for a fuel filler flap before you order.
  2. Match the OE number on the part you are replacing to the OE number on the listing. A matching number is the surest check that a part fits.
  3. Check whether the car is rear-drive or all-wheel drive before ordering motors, driveshafts or front-axle drive hardware, then order each part by its axle.
  4. Check which battery pack the car carries before ordering battery, charging or high-voltage parts, since Chinese cars carry 71.8 kWh or 80.64 kWh packs. Then match the part by OE number.
  5. Read the tyre size on each axle before ordering tyres, since 19-inch cars run 235/50 R19 front and 255/45 R19 rear. Order each axle's size separately.
  6. Order a tow bar to suit the drive layout, since rear-drive cars are rated at 750 kg braked and all-wheel-drive cars at 1,500 kg.
  7. After a bumper repair, inspect the parking sensors, radar and their brackets as well as the panel, and order painted parts by the colour code on the car.

Generations and Facelifts

The Sealion 7 is on its first generation and has had no facelift. It was first shown as the Sealion 07 EV at the Guangzhou Auto Show on 17 November 2023 and launched in China on 10 May 2024, with deliveries starting that month. It was the first model on BYD's e-Platform 3.0 Evo, which brought a 12-in-1 electric drive unit. It is the SUV counterpart to the Seal saloon, which uses the earlier e-Platform 3.0. The two share technology, but body, suspension and trim parts should be matched to the Sealion 7 by OE number.

Outside China it has been sold as the Sealion 7 since late 2024. Export cars have their own battery packs, so high-voltage parts differ between Chinese and export cars.

In May 2025 BYD launched the Sealion 07 DM-i in China. It is a plug-in hybrid that shares the name but not the car, and its parts do not cross over.

BYD dropped the car from its Chinese line-up in 2026.

BYD Sealion 7 Parts: Frequently Asked Questions

How do I make sure a part fits my BYD Sealion 7?

Match the OE number. Every part on this site is listed under the OE number printed on the original part, and if the number on the part you are replacing matches the listing, the part fits. That check matters on the Sealion 7 because battery, charging and drive parts vary with the version and the drive layout. If the old part is missing or its number is unreadable, send the details through the quote form with a photo and we will reply within 24 hours, usually sooner.

Is the Sealion 07 EV the same car as the Sealion 7?

Yes, as far as the body goes. Sealion 07 EV is the name BYD used in China, and Sealion 7 is the export name. Both measure 4,830 mm long, 1,925 mm wide and 1,620 mm tall on a 2,930 mm wheelbase. The difference is in the high-voltage hardware. Chinese cars carry 71.8 kWh or 80.64 kWh packs, while export cars use different packs. Match battery and charging parts by OE number rather than by the model name.

Is the Sealion 7 the same as the Sealion 07 DM-i?

No. The Sealion 07 DM-i is a plug-in hybrid with a petrol engine, launched in China in 2025 as the successor to the Frigate 07. The Sealion 7 is fully electric and has no engine. Apart from the similar name, the two are separate cars with separate parts. An engine, exhaust or hybrid part has no place on a Sealion 7, and body parts should not be assumed to cross either. Check the badge and look for a fuel filler flap before ordering, then match every part by OE number.

I have a Sealion 6 or a Sealion 5 DM-i. Do these parts fit?

No. In some export markets BYD uses the Sealion 6 and Sealion 5 DM-i names for plug-in hybrid SUVs from its Song family, which have a petrol engine and a different body. They share the Sealion name with this car but none of its engineering. Parts listed for the Sealion 7 will not fit them, and their parts will not fit a Sealion 7. Check the badge on the tailgate and whether the car has a fuel filler, then search under the correct model and match by OE number.

Which battery does my Sealion 7 have?

It depends on the version. Chinese-market cars carry 71.8 kWh or 80.64 kWh. Export cars use different packs, so a battery part listed for a Chinese car may not suit a car sold elsewhere. The badge will not tell you which pack is fitted, so match any battery or charging part by the OE number on the part itself. If that number is unreadable, send the details through the quote form with a photo and we will reply within 24 hours, usually sooner.

Is the front motor on the all-wheel-drive car the same as the rear one?

No. The all-wheel-drive car keeps a 230 kW rear motor and adds a 160 kW motor on the front axle, for 390 kW and 690 Nm combined. The two motors are different units with different part numbers, so neither can replace the other. A rear-drive car has no front motor and no front driveshafts, so it needs none of those parts. Check the drive layout first, then order each motor, mount or driveshaft by its axle and by the OE number on the part you are replacing.

Can I swap the tyres front to rear?

Only on 20-inch wheels, which run 245/45 R20 on all four corners. Nineteen-inch wheels are staggered, with 235/50 R19 at the front and 255/45 R19 at the rear. Front and rear tyres cannot swap axles, and a rear puncture needs the rear size. Wheel size depends on the version. Read the size on the sidewall of each axle before you order, and order rims to match.

What can the Sealion 7 tow, and does the tow bar differ between versions?

Braked towing depends on the drive layout. Rear-drive cars are rated at 750 kg and all-wheel-drive cars at 1,500 kg, while the unbraked limit is 750 kg for both. Choose the tow bar and wiring for the layout actually fitted, since hardware sized for the higher rating does not change what a rear-drive car may tow. Check whether the car has a front motor, then order the tow bar and electrics to suit and match them by OE number.

Has the Sealion 7 had a facelift?

No. It is on its first generation and has had no facelift. It launched in China on 10 May 2024 as the first model on BYD's e-Platform 3.0 Evo, which brought a 12-in-1 electric drive unit. It is the SUV counterpart to the Seal saloon, which uses the earlier e-Platform 3.0. The two share technology, but body, suspension and trim parts should be matched to the Sealion 7 by OE number.

It is fully electric. Does it still need fluids and servicing parts?

Yes, a few. There is no engine oil, but the reduction gearbox in each drive unit has its own oil. The brakes use hydraulic fluid, and coolant runs through the battery, the motors and the heat pump system. The 12 volt battery needs checking too, because it powers the car's electronics before the high-voltage system wakes up. Follow the car's service schedule rather than assuming an electric car needs nothing. Order fluids, the cabin air filter and the 12 volt battery by OE number.

Will a bumper repair need new sensors?

Often, yes. Chinese-market cars carry BYD's DiPilot 100 system with 12 ultrasonic sensors, five radar units and 11 cameras. This puts hardware in or behind the bumpers and mirrors. A light knock can crack a sensor or bend its bracket even when the panel looks sound. Check each sensor and bracket before ordering and match them by OE number. Order painted panels by the colour code on the car.

It has been withdrawn in China. Can I still get parts?

Yes. BYD dropped the car from its Chinese line-up in 2026. The thing to watch is that Chinese and export cars differ in their battery and charging hardware, so a part listed for a Chinese Sealion 07 EV may not suit a car sold elsewhere. Match every part by the OE number on the old one. If you cannot find it, use the quote form and we will reply within 24 hours, usually sooner.

Safety Recalls Affecting This Model

No recall applies to the Sealion 7. Checks against Chinese, European, United Kingdom and Australian recall actions turned up nothing against the Sealion 07 EV or the exported Sealion 7. If you have been told otherwise, the confusion is almost certainly the badge rather than the car: BYD sells other models under the Sealion name abroad, including the Sealion 6 and Sealion 5 DM-i, which are Song models built on a different platform and unrelated to this one. Any recall notice for a "Sealion" that does not specify the 07 EV or the exported Sealion 7 belongs to one of those.

Before starting high-voltage work, confirm recall status against the vehicle's own VIN rather than the model name, since recall records are held per vehicle and a clean check today does not rule out a future one.
