Yangwang U8L Parts

The Yangwang U8L is a range-extended, quad-motor full-size SUV on a 3,250 mm wheelbase, seating six across three rows, launched September 2025. It shares its VIN identification code with the shorter U8, so a VIN decode will not tell the two apart, and the wheelbase, wider rear track and shorter rear overhang mean bumpers, valances and rear running gear do not carry across between them. Confirm the car against a tape measure or its model code before ordering body or rear-end parts.

Symptom Finder: Known Weak Points

What you see or hearCheck first
Side step slow, uneven or stuck when it moves out The powered step assembly, its motor and linkage. The steps sit low and take kerb strikes, so look for physical damage before assuming an electrical fault, and order by side.
Brake judder, squeal or uneven pedal feel Pads and discs. Confirm the disc material on the car first, since the pads and caliper must match it.
Unsettled ride or a suspension warning The DiSus-P+ dampers. Check the build date, since cars from 5 March 2026 use a dual-valve damper that does not fit earlier cars.
Engine warning light while the range extender is running Start with the lambda and emission sensors on the 1,997 cc generator engine. The engine runs in short bursts to charge the battery, and those sensors are the usual first suspects on any petrol engine.
Coolant warning or a falling coolant level Coolant hoses, the expansion tank and the temperature sensors. The car cools a battery, four motors and an engine, so trace the leak to its circuit before ordering, then match the part by OE number.
Parking sensor or driver-assistance warning after a minor knock The ultrasonic sensors in the bumpers and their brackets. A bracket bent in a light impact can trigger the warning on its own, so check it before replacing the sensor.
A tyre bought for the U8 does not fit The U8L runs 285/45 R22 or 285/40 R23 on both axles, and the U8 uses neither size. Match tyres to the U8L.

About Yangwang U8L Parts

The Yangwang U8L is the long-wheelbase, six-seat version of the U8, launched in September 2025 and sold alongside the standard car. It stretches the wheelbase to 3,250 mm and the body to 5,400 mm, and it drives all four wheels through four separate electric motors, with a 1,997 cc petrol engine working only as a generator. That mix means the car needs two kinds of parts: the electric drive, battery and body-control hardware of a large electric car, and the oil, filters and emission sensors of a combustion engine. Much of the running gear is shared with the U8. Bumpers, valances, the tailgate, tyres and rear suspension are not. Every part on this page is listed by its OE number, and that number is the surest way to confirm a part fits.

What to know before buying Yangwang U8L parts

Start by making sure the car is a U8L. It shares a great deal with the standard U8 and looks much the same from the side, but the two are built on different wheelbases: 3,250 mm on the U8L against 3,050 mm on the U8, with an overall length of 5,400 mm against 5,319 mm. A tape measure between the wheel centres settles it in a minute. The quickest visual check is at the back. The U8 carries its spare wheel on the tailgate and the U8L does not, so tailgate panels, the spare wheel carrier and the trim around them do not cross between the two cars.

The ends of the car are where most wrong orders happen. The U8L's front track is 5 mm wider and its rear track 12 mm wider than the U8's, its rear overhang is 119 mm shorter, and its approach and departure angles are lower than the U8's 31 degrees. Bumpers, valances and rear suspension parts are therefore specific to the U8L. The two cars share no tyre size either: the U8L runs 285/45 R22 as standard or 285/40 R23 as an option, the same size on both axles. The U8L also steers its rear wheels, which gives it a turning circle of 5.45 metres, so the rear axle carries steering hardware that has to be matched by OE number as well.

The drive is where the two cars overlap. Each wheel has its own motor, and the four motors use three part numbers between them. The two left-hand motors share one, while the right front and right rear each have their own. The same three part numbers are used on the U8, so a motor listed for either car fits the other, as long as the corner matches.

A few things vary from car to car and are worth checking before you order. Carbon-ceramic brake discs are listed, but the car can be built with discs of another material, and the caliper and pads must suit whichever disc is fitted. Wheel size is chosen per car rather than set by trim, so read the size on the tyre sidewall. The driver-assistance system uses three lidar units, five radar units, 14 ultrasonic sensors and 18 cameras, and the ultrasonic sensors sit in the bumpers, so a bumper repair often needs sensors and brackets as well as the panel. For painted panels, order by the colour code on the car rather than by colour name, since new colours were added for 2026.

Finally, read the build date on the identification plate before ordering dampers, battery or charging parts, or glass. The 2026 model changed all four, and parts from either side of that change are not the same. The section on generations and facelifts below sets out exactly what changed and when.

Before You Order: 7 Checks

  1. Measure the wheelbase if you are unsure whether the car is a U8L or a U8: 3,250 mm is the U8L, 3,050 mm the U8. No spare wheel on the tailgate is the quick visual sign of a U8L.
  2. Match the OE number on the part you are replacing to the OE number on the listing. A matching number is the surest check that a part fits.
  3. Check the brake disc material on the car before ordering pads or a caliper, since both must suit the disc actually fitted.
  4. Read the tyre size on the sidewall before ordering tyres or rims, since the U8L runs 285/45 R22 or 285/40 R23 and wheel size is chosen car by car.
  5. Check the build date on the identification plate before ordering a damper, battery or charging part, or glass, since the 2026 model changed all four.
  6. Order painted panels by the colour code on the car rather than by colour name.
  7. After a bumper repair, check the parking sensors and their brackets as well as the panel, and order each sensor by the OE number on the old unit.

Generations and Facelifts

The U8L is the long-wheelbase version of the Yangwang U8, and the U8 is where its story starts. The U8 was Yangwang's first model, first shown on 5 January 2023 and launched on 20 September 2023: a large off-road SUV on BYD's e4 platform, with one electric motor at each wheel and a petrol engine used only to generate power. It carries its spare wheel on the tailgate, and in 2024 it was joined by an off-road edition with its own front bumper, snorkel and roof rack, and an optional drone bay in the roof. That drone bay belongs to the U8 off-road edition only, so roof parts for it do not suit a U8L.

The U8L was first shown at Auto Shanghai in April 2025, opened for pre-orders on 31 July 2025 and went on sale on 12 September 2025 in a single trim, the Dingshi Edition. It keeps the U8's four-motor drive and changes the car around it: 200 mm more wheelbase and 81 mm more length, six seats in three rows of two, no external spare wheel, powered side steps as standard and its own tyre sizes. It is sold alongside the U8 rather than replacing it, so both cars are on the road and both need parts.

The 2026 model went on sale on 5 March 2026, alongside the 2026 U7 and U8, and three of its changes matter for parts. The DiSus-P+ body control moved to dual-valve hydraulic dampers, and cars built from 5 March 2026 take the new damper, which does not interchange with the earlier one. The battery grew from 55.53 kWh to 56.58 kWh and gained much faster charging. The windows gained light-sensitive privacy glass, so glass should be matched by OE number rather than by model year. The body shape did not change, and the U8L has had no facelift. Before ordering dampers, battery or charging parts, or glass, read the build date on the identification plate.

Yangwang U8L Parts: Frequently Asked Questions

How do I make sure a part fits my Yangwang U8L?

Match the OE number. Every part on this site is listed under the OE number printed on the original part, and if the number on the part you are replacing matches the listing, the part fits. That check matters more on the U8L than on most cars, because it looks almost identical to the shorter U8 and many parts differ between the two. If the old part is missing or its number is unreadable, send it through the quote form with a photo and we will reply within 24 hours, usually sooner.

How can I tell a U8L from a standard U8?

Measure the wheelbase, the distance between the front and rear wheel centres. The U8L measures 3,250 mm and the U8 3,050 mm, and overall length is 5,400 mm against 5,319 mm. The two cars look very similar and share many parts, so it is worth being sure before you order anything for the body or the rear suspension, which is where they differ. Once you know which car you have, confirm each part by its OE number.

Do U8 bumpers, suspension parts and tyres fit the U8L?

Mostly not. The U8L's front track is 5 mm wider and its rear track 12 mm wider than the U8's, its rear overhang is 119 mm shorter, and its approach and departure angles are lower. Bumpers, valances and rear suspension parts are therefore specific to each car. Tyres differ as well, since the U8 uses neither of the U8L's two sizes. The electric drive motors are the exception, and they carry the same part numbers on both cars.

The U8L has four motors. Are there four different motor part numbers?

There are three. Each wheel has its own motor, and the two left-hand motors, front and rear, share one part number. The right front and right rear motors each have their own. Every motor is rated at 65 kW with a peak output of 220 kW. Order each motor by its corner, because the two front motors are different parts. The same three part numbers are used on the standard U8, so a motor listed for that car fits here too if the corner matches.

Does the U8L have carbon-ceramic brakes?

Ceramic composite ventilated discs are listed front and rear, but not every car has them. The U8L can also be built with discs of a different material, each paired with its own matching caliper, so the model name alone does not tell you what is fitted. Check the disc on the car before ordering anything for the brakes. Then order the caliper to suit the disc, and the pads to suit both.

What tyre sizes does the U8L use?

The standard size is 285/45 R22, with 285/40 R23 available as an option, and each car runs the same size front and rear. The standard U8 uses neither size, so do not order tyres from U8 listings. The wheel size is chosen car by car rather than set by trim, so read the size on the sidewall of the tyres already fitted before you order, and match the rims at the same time.

It has a plug-in battery. Does the U8L still need oil and filters?

Yes. The U8L carries a 1,997 cc petrol engine that works only as a generator to charge the battery and never drives the wheels. It still needs engine oil, an oil filter and an air filter, along with the lambda and emission sensors any petrol engine has. When planning a service, follow the range extender's own schedule rather than treating the car as fully electric, and expect sensor and exhaust-side parts to come up more often than the charging socket would suggest.

Does the U8L carry a spare wheel?

Not on the outside. The standard U8 carries its spare wheel on the tailgate, and the U8L drops that external spare. That changes the rear of the car, so a tailgate panel, spare wheel carrier or tailgate trim taken from a U8 will not suit a U8L. It is also the quickest way to tell the two cars apart at a glance. If you are buying a replacement wheel or tyre, read the size already fitted, 285/45 R22 or 285/40 R23.

Is the U8L always a six-seater?

No. The main version has six seats in three rows of two and weighs 3,595 kg. A second version can be built with four or six seats, weighs 3,639 kg and splits its weight differently between the axles. That difference reaches the second and third-row seats and trim, and some rear axle parts, so check the seat layout in the car before ordering for the cabin or the rear suspension.

What changed with the 2026 model?

The 2026 model went on sale on 5 March 2026, alongside the 2026 U7 and U8. The DiSus-P+ body control moved to dual-valve hydraulic dampers, the battery grew from 55.53 kWh to 56.58 kWh with much faster charging, and the windows gained light-sensitive privacy glass. The body shape did not change. For parts, the dampers matter most: cars built from 5 March 2026 take the dual-valve unit, and it does not interchange with the earlier damper. Read the build date on the identification plate, and match glass by OE number.

Are the powered side steps a common repair?

They are worth checking. Powered side steps are standard on the U8L, where they are an option on the U8, and they move out and back each time they are used. Sitting low on the body, the motor and linkage are exposed to kerbs and road debris. If a step moves slowly, unevenly or not at all, look for damage to the linkage before assuming an electrical fault, and order the replacement for the correct side.

Can I fit a tow bar to the U8L?

No tow bar or towing hardware is listed for the U8L. The standard U8 has an optional tow hook with an electrical socket, but that option is not listed for the long-wheelbase car, and no trailer weight is given for it. Do not fit U8 towing parts to a U8L because the two cars look alike. The rear of the car is exactly where they differ, from the tailgate and the missing external spare wheel to the bumper and the rear suspension.
