Frequently Asked Questions: OE 12232832-00
How do I know this is the right hand bonnet hinge?
It is the right hand one. On a right hand drive Seal 05 DM-i that puts it at the rear corner of the bonnet on the driver's side, because sides are always called from the driver's seat looking forward. Lift the bonnet, look at the hinge on that corner and compare its shape with the images on this page. A left and a right hinge are mirrored and will not swap over. If yours is the other corner, the left hand reference is listed as a separate item.
Which of the two tiers should I take?
Both tiers appear on this page for OE number 12232832-00. The Original/Genuine line is the BYD hinge. The Aftermarket line is an equivalent built to the same reference by another producer, and no maker is given, so none is named here. Nothing else changes between them. The delivery time is 8 to 28 days, from order to door. The shipping cost for your country is shown on this page and confirmed at checkout before you pay.
My old hinge is marked HAD-8402619. Is that this part?
Yes. HAD-8402619 is the alternative reference for this item and 12232832-00 is its OE number. Both describe the same right hand bonnet hinge. Numbers on body brackets are not applied consistently, so seeing one and not the other is normal rather than a warning sign. Where the number you can read is neither of those, stop and check with us. Send a photograph of the old part and its label through the quote route and we will confirm against the OE number rather than let you order blind.
What are the timings on this one?
Delivery takes 8 to 28 days from your order to your door. The page shows which of the two you are on at the point of ordering. Bodywork jobs stall when a single bracket is missing, so if a date is fixed at your end, tell us the date and we will say plainly whether the timing works. The shipping cost for your country is shown on this page and confirmed at checkout before you pay.
What material is this hinge, and how does it travel?
This hinge is made of metal. No alloy or plated finish is named for it, so none is stated here. What that means for you is a stiff part that will not be deformed by ordinary handling in transit. Check the bolt holes against the hinge you are taking off before the old one is scrapped.
