BYD Qin L DM-i Parts

The BYD Qin L DM-i is a four-door, five-seat plug-in hybrid sedan built on the Dynasty side of the range, sharing its platform with the Seal 06 DM-i sold through Ocean. Its wheel size, drive motor and battery capacity all move with the BYD7153WT6HEV model code stamped on the vehicle, not with the trim badge, so identify that code before ordering any part.

Symptom Finder: Known Weak Points

What you see or hearCheck first
Engine warning light after a spell of mostly electric driving Start with the lambda and emission sensors and the evaporative system on the BYD472QC engine. The engine runs in short bursts, which is hard on those parts, so match each one by OE number.
Grinding from the brakes or a rough, rusty rear disc surface Rear discs and pads. Regenerative braking means the friction brakes do less work, so discs can corrode. Measure the disc, then order discs and pads for that axle.
Coolant warning or a falling coolant level The engine and the motor electronics use separate cooling circuits. Trace the leak to its circuit first, then order the hose, tank or sensor by OE number.
Parking sensor or driver-assistance warning after a minor knock The sensors in the bumpers and their brackets. A bent bracket can trigger the warning on its own, so check it before replacing the sensor.
Knock or clunk from the front over broken surfaces The MacPherson front suspension: control arm bushes, drop links and top mounts. Check for play with the car on a lift, then order the worn part for the correct side.
A tyre or rim bought for another Qin L does not fit Three tyre sizes appear across the range. Read the size on the sidewall of the tyres fitted and order to match.
A replacement gear selector or console part does not match the car The 2026 model, launched in October 2025, moved the selector to the steering column. Check the build date on the identification plate and order for the layout fitted.

Most Replaced Parts on the Qin L DM-i

  1. Coolant hoses, expansion tanks and sensorsEngine and motor electronics have separate coolant circuits, so trace a leak before ordering
  2. Oil pump and sump circuit partsA 1,498 cc engine that still runs often, specified for thin 0W-16 oil
  3. Air intake ducting and filtersThe engine keeps its own air filter, even when the car mostly runs on electric
  4. Timing drive componentsThe BYD472QC petrol engine keeps a full timing drive on this hybrid
  5. Control arms and bushingsMacpherson front and multi-link rear, on a saloon weighing up to about 1,800 kg

About BYD Qin L DM-i Parts

The BYD Qin L DM-i is a five-seat, front-wheel-drive plug-in hybrid saloon. It launched in China on 28 May 2024 as one of the first cars on BYD's fifth-generation DM-i system. It is 4,830 mm long and 1,900 mm wide on a 2,790 mm wheelbase. A 1,498 cc BYD472QC petrol engine works with a single drive motor, whose output depends on the version, and a Blade battery of 10.08 kWh or 15.87 kWh, with a 25.28 kWh option from January 2026. The motor does most of the driving, so the car needs two kinds of parts. It needs the motor, battery and cooling hardware of an electric car, and the oil, filters, timing parts and sensors of a petrol engine that still runs regularly. Much of the running gear is shared with its sister car, the Seal 06 DM-i, but the body panels are not. Every part here is listed by OE number, and matching the number on the old part is the surest way to confirm it fits.

What to know before buying BYD Qin L DM-i parts

Start by making sure the car is a Qin L DM-i. BYD sells several saloons with similar names, and their parts are not the same. The Qin PLUS is the older, smaller car, 4,765 mm long on a 2,718 mm wheelbase, against 4,830 mm and 2,790 mm for the Qin L. It is still on sale as a separate model, so its body, glass, suspension and trim do not carry over. The Qin L EV, launched in March 2025, shares the name but is fully electric, with no engine or fuel system and a different drive and battery. If the car has a fuel filler, it is the DM-i.

The closest relative is the Seal 06 DM-i. It is sold through BYD's Ocean dealers and badged Seal 6 DM-i in some export markets. It uses the same platform and powertrain, with the same 4,830 mm length, 1,495 mm height and 2,790 mm wheelbase, but it is 1,875 mm wide against 1,900 mm for the Qin L. Engine, motor and battery parts are the most likely to fit both cars. Treat bumpers, lights, grilles and outer panels as specific to each car. A listing that names both cars still has to match the OE number.

Several things vary from car to car. Launch cars had either a 120 kW motor with a 10.08 kWh battery or a 160 kW motor with a 15.87 kWh battery. A 25.28 kWh battery joined in January 2026, so battery and drive parts must match the version fitted. Tyres come in 225/60 R16, 225/55 R17 or 225/50 R18, so read the size on the sidewall before ordering tyres or rims. The Smart Driving Edition from February 2025 and the higher trims of the 2026 range carry driver-assistance cameras and radar units that earlier cars do not. Some of that hardware sits in the bumpers, so a bumper repair on those cars often needs sensors and brackets as well as the panel. For painted parts, order by the colour code on the car rather than the colour name, since new colours arrived in January 2026.

Finally, read the build date on the identification plate before ordering gear selector or centre console parts, battery parts or driver-assistance hardware. The 2026 model moved the gear selector to the steering column in October 2025, and the January 2026 update changed the battery options. The section on generations and facelifts below sets out what changed and when.

Before You Order: 7 Checks

  1. Confirm the car is a Qin L DM-i: 4,830 mm long on a 2,790 mm wheelbase, with a fuel filler. The Qin PLUS is shorter and the Qin L EV has no engine, so order for the car you have.
  2. Match the OE number on the part you are replacing to the OE number on the listing before you order.
  3. Take care with Seal 06 DM-i listings. That car is 1,875 mm wide against 1,900 mm, so check the OE number on any bumper, light or outer panel.
  4. Read the tyre size on the sidewall before ordering tyres or rims, since 225/60 R16, 225/55 R17 and 225/50 R18 all appear across the range.
  5. Check whether the battery is 10.08, 15.87 or 25.28 kWh before ordering battery or charging parts, then match by OE number.
  6. Read the build date on the identification plate before ordering gear selector, console or driver-assistance parts, since the October 2025 and January 2026 updates changed them.
  7. Order painted panels by the colour code on the car rather than by colour name, since new colours were added in January 2026.

Generations and Facelifts

The Qin L DM-i sits alongside the Qin PLUS and did not replace it. The Qin PLUS is a smaller saloon on a 2,718 mm wheelbase and is still on sale, and the two share few body parts. The Qin L was first shown at the Beijing motor show on 25 April 2024. It launched on 28 May 2024 in five versions, together with its sister car, the Seal 06 DM-i. It uses BYD's fifth-generation DM-i system with a 1,498 cc BYD472QC engine, paired with either a 120 kW motor and a 10.08 kWh battery or a 160 kW motor and a 15.87 kWh battery.

In February 2025 BYD added a Smart Driving Edition with the God's Eye C driver-assistance system, which uses 29 sensors, and moved the infotainment to DiLink 100. Cars from that point can carry cameras, radar units and brackets that earlier cars lack, so check sensor and bumper parts against the car. In March 2025 BYD launched the Qin L EV, a fully electric car that shares the name but not the powertrain.

The 2026 model arrived on 23 October 2025. It has a column-mounted gear selector in place of the console lever, a simpler centre console and an updated DiLink 100 system. The range was updated again in January 2026. A 25.28 kWh battery was added, giving more than 200 km of electric range on the Chinese CLTC cycle, and the 10.08 kWh pack was dropped. Higher trims moved to DiPilot 100 driver assistance, and new paint colours arrived. The body dimensions have not changed, and the car has not had a full facelift. Before ordering console, gear selector, battery or driver-assistance parts, read the build date on the identification plate.

BYD Qin L DM-i Parts: Frequently Asked Questions

How do I make sure a part fits my Qin L DM-i?

Match the OE number. Every part on this site is listed under the OE number printed on the original part, and if the number on the part you are replacing matches the listing, the part fits. That check matters on the Qin L. It shares a platform with the Seal 06 DM-i and a name with the Qin PLUS and the Qin L EV, and parts differ between all of them. If the old part is missing or its number cannot be read, send a photo through the quote form and we will reply within 24 hours, usually sooner.

How is the Qin L DM-i different from the Qin PLUS?

They are separate models. The Qin PLUS is the older and smaller saloon, 4,765 mm long on a 2,718 mm wheelbase. The Qin L is 4,830 mm long on a 2,790 mm wheelbase and 1,900 mm wide. The Qin L arrived in May 2024 with BYD's fifth-generation DM-i system and did not replace the Qin PLUS, which is still on sale. Body panels, glass, suspension and trim do not fit across the two cars, so confirm which car you have before ordering, then match each part by OE number.

Do Seal 06 DM-i parts fit the Qin L DM-i?

Many mechanical parts do. The Seal 06 DM-i is the Qin L's sister car, sold through BYD's Ocean dealers. It shares the platform, the powertrain, the 4,830 mm length and the 2,790 mm wheelbase, but it is 1,875 mm wide against 1,900 mm. Engine, motor and battery parts are the most likely to fit both cars. Treat bumpers, lights and outer panels as specific to each car. Whatever the part, match the OE number on the old one before ordering.

Are Qin L EV parts the same as Qin L DM-i parts?

Not for the powertrain. The Qin L EV, launched in March 2025, is a fully electric car with its own drive and battery, and it has no engine, fuel system or exhaust. Its sister car is the Seal 06 EV rather than the Seal 06 DM-i. None of the engine, hybrid drive or fuel parts for the DM-i suit it, and you should not assume the two cars share body or chassis parts either. Check for a fuel filler to confirm you have the DM-i, then order by OE number.

Which engine does the Qin L DM-i use, and what oil does it take?

The engine is the BYD472QC, a 1,498 cc naturally aspirated four-cylinder petrol unit rated at 74 kW and 126 Nm. It is switched off for much of the time while the motor drives the car, and it is specified for a thin API SP 0W-16 oil. A thicker grade such as 0W-20 is a different oil, so check the grade in the car's handbook before you buy. Order the oil filter and sump parts by the OE number on the old part.

Which drive motor is fitted to my car?

That depends on the version. At launch, the two 80 km versions used a 120 kW motor coded TZ210XYB, and the three 120 km versions used a 160 kW motor coded TZ210XYC. Versions added since have their own ratings, and sources give different figures for the 25.28 kWh car. The trim badge does not tell you which motor is fitted. Take the part number from the old motor or its housing and order against that OE number rather than the power figure.

What battery sizes has the Qin L DM-i used?

Three. Launch cars had a 10.08 kWh or a 15.87 kWh Blade battery, rated at 80 km and 120 km of electric range on the Chinese CLTC cycle. The January 2026 update added a 25.28 kWh pack with more than 200 km of CLTC range, made 15.87 kWh the base size and dropped the 10.08 kWh pack. Battery modules, housings and the parts around them depend on the pack fitted. Read the capacity on the battery label or the build date on the identification plate, then match the OE number.

What tyre sizes does it use?

Three sizes appear across the range: 225/60 R16, 225/55 R17 and 225/50 R18. The size depends on the version rather than the model year, and the top launch versions run 225/50 R18 on both axles. Read the size on the sidewall of the tyres already fitted before you order, and match the rims at the same time, since the three sizes use different rim diameters. Order wheel bolts and centre caps by OE number.

What brakes does the Qin L DM-i have?

It has discs on all four wheels, ventilated at the front, and an electronic parking brake. Front and rear discs, pads and calipers are different parts, so order each axle separately. The motor slows the car through regenerative braking much of the time, so pads often last well. Discs that see little use can corrode, though, particularly at the rear. Measure each disc and check its surface before ordering, and match pads, discs and caliper parts by the OE numbers on the old parts.

What changed with the 2026 model?

It came in two steps. The 2026 model launched on 23 October 2025 with a gear selector on the steering column in place of the console lever, a simpler centre console and an updated DiLink 100 system. In January 2026 the range gained a 25.28 kWh battery, the 15.87 kWh pack became the base size and new paint colours were added. The body dimensions did not change. The gear selector, console trim and battery parts are the ones that differ, so read the build date on the identification plate before ordering them.

My car has driver assistance. What should I check after a bumper repair?

First, find out which system the car has. The Smart Driving Edition, launched in February 2025, brought BYD's God's Eye C system with 29 sensors. Higher trims of the 2026 range use DiPilot 100, with 12 cameras and five radar units. Earlier cars carry less hardware. Some sensors sit in or behind the bumpers, so even a light knock can move a sensor or bend a bracket. Check the sensors and their brackets as well as the panel, and order each part by the OE number on the old unit.

It drives mostly on electric power. Does it still need regular servicing?

Yes. The petrol engine still starts regularly to charge the battery and to add power. Like any petrol engine, it needs engine oil, an oil filter, an air filter, spark plugs and a working fuel and evaporative system. Oil also ages in an engine that often runs without fully warming up, so do not decide when to change it by mileage alone. Follow the schedule in the handbook, and order filters, plugs and sensors by the OE numbers on the parts you are replacing.
