BYD Seal 6 DM-i Touring Parts

The BYD Seal 6 DM-i Touring is the estate version of the Seal 06 DM-i saloon, built on the same 2,790 mm wheelbase but stretched to a 4,850 mm body with a tailgate, rear wiper and roof rails the saloon never had. It reached the UK in right-hand drive as Boost and Comfort. Order against the estate, not the saloon: the two share little beyond the wheelbase, and its battery capacities do not match the saloon's own figures.

Symptom Finder: Known Weak Points

What you see or hearCheck first
Tailgate stops short, drops or will not hold at its set height The powered struts and the tailgate drive. These parts belong to the estate only, so order by side and by the OE number on the old unit.
Rear wiper does not move or will not park The rear wiper motor, then the arm and blade. The saloon has no rear wiper, so order these parts for the estate only.
DC charging will not start First confirm the car has a DC socket, since the 80 km launch trim had no DC charging. On a car with DC, check the inlet and its wiring, then match the part by OE number.
Engine warning light while the petrol engine is running Start with the lambda and emission sensors and the air intake on the 1.5-litre engine, the usual first suspects on any petrol engine.
Coolant warning or a falling coolant level Hoses, the expansion tank and the temperature sensors. The car cools a battery, a motor and an engine, so trace the leak to its circuit before ordering.
Water in the boot or along the roof edge The tailgate seal and the seals under the roof rail feet. Check both before ordering, and match the seal by OE number.
Puncture and no spare wheel in the boot The car carries a puncture repair kit instead of a spare. Check the date on the sealant bottle and that the compressor works, and replace either by OE number.

Most Replaced Parts on the Seal 6 DM-i Touring

  1. Coolant hoses, expansion tanks and sensorsThe car cools a battery, a motor and an engine, so trace leaks by circuit
  2. Air intake ducting and filtersFilters age with time even on a car that mostly runs on the battery
  3. Oil pump and sump circuit partsThe 1.5-litre engine needs a sound oil circuit whatever the charging habit
  4. Timing drive componentsThe 1.5-litre engine carried over unchanged into the April 2026 update
  5. Radiator and cooling fansShared cooling duty between engine and electric drive, so match by OE number

About BYD Seal 6 DM-i Touring Parts

The BYD Seal 6 DM-i Touring is the estate version of the Seal 06 DM-i saloon. It went on sale in China as the Seal 06 DM-i Touring Edition on 4 July 2025. It is a plug-in hybrid. One electric motor drives the front wheels, and a 1.5-litre petrol engine mainly charges the battery. That layout needs two sets of parts: the battery, motor and charging hardware of an electric car, and the oil, filters, timing and cooling parts of a petrol engine. The estate has the same 2,790 mm wheelbase as the saloon, but the tailgate, rear wiper, roof rails and the rear body are its own. Every part on this page is listed by its OE number, and matching that number is the surest way to confirm a part fits.

What to know before buying BYD Seal 6 DM-i Touring parts

Start by making sure the car is the estate. The Touring is 4,850 mm long, 1,890 mm wide and 1,505 mm tall on a 2,790 mm wheelbase. The Seal 06 DM-i saloon uses the same wheelbase but is 4,830 mm long, 1,875 mm wide and 1,495 mm tall, and it has a boot lid where the estate has a powered tailgate and a rear wiper. The tailgate, its struts and drive, the rear wiper arm, blade and motor, and the roof rails belong to the estate only. Do not confuse either car with the Seal 06 GT, which is a fully electric car on a shorter 4,630 mm body.

The battery is where most wrong orders happen. Chinese cars built at launch carry a 10.08 kWh pack with a 120 kW motor on the 80 km trim, and an 18.71 kWh pack with a 160 kW motor on the 150 km trims. The saloon's long-range pack is 15.87 kWh, so a pack listed for the saloon is not the estate's.

The build date splits Chinese cars. From 2 April 2026 the 2026 model moved every version to a single 175 kW motor, with a 25.28 kWh or 34.27 kWh pack and faster DC charging. The 1.5-litre engine carried over, and the body did not change. Nothing on the outside shows which side of that date a car sits, so read the build date on the identification plate before ordering a motor, battery or charging part.

Charging hardware varies by trim. The 80 km launch trim had no DC charging, while the 150 km trims did. A DC inlet or its wiring only suits a car that has one, so look at the charging flap before ordering.

A few other things vary from car to car. Chinese launch data lists 225/55 R17 tyres on the 80 km trim and 225/50 R18 on the 150 km trims, so read the size on the sidewall. The front discs are ventilated and the rear discs solid, so front and rear brake parts are never the same. Chinese cars carry a puncture repair kit instead of a spare wheel. Order painted panels by the colour code on the car rather than by colour name. Some parts shared with the saloon, such as engine service parts, may carry the same OE number. Order them only when that number matches.

Before You Order: 7 Checks

  1. Confirm the car is the estate, with a tailgate and rear wiper, rather than the saloon with its boot lid, before ordering any rear body part.
  2. Match the OE number on the part you are replacing to the OE number on the listing before you order.
  3. Read the build date on the identification plate before ordering a motor, battery or charging part, since Chinese cars built from 2 April 2026 use a different motor and pack.
  4. Look for a DC socket behind the charging flap before ordering charging parts, since the 80 km launch trim had no DC charging.
  5. Read the tyre size on the sidewall before ordering tyres or rims, since the car may run 225/55 R17 or 225/50 R18.
  6. Order front and rear brake discs separately, since the front discs are ventilated and the rear discs solid.
  7. Order painted panels by the colour code on the car rather than by colour name.

Generations and Facelifts

The Touring grew out of the Seal 06 DM-i saloon, which BYD launched in China on 28 May 2024 with a 10.08 kWh or 15.87 kWh pack and a 1.5-litre engine. The estate was first shown at Auto Shanghai in April 2025 and went on sale in China on 4 July 2025 as the Seal 06 DM-i Touring Edition, in three trims. It is 20 mm longer, 15 mm wider and 10 mm taller than the saloon, with a raised rear, a powered tailgate, a rear wiper and roof rails. Launch cars used a 10.08 kWh pack with a 120 kW motor, or an 18.71 kWh pack with a 160 kW motor, and the 74 kW engine in every version.

Outside China it is also sold as the Seal 6 DM-i Touring, and export cars use different battery and charging hardware.

The Chinese 2026 model went on sale on 2 April 2026 in four trims. Every version moved to a single 175 kW, 270 Nm motor, the packs grew to 25.28 kWh or 34.27 kWh, and BYD quotes DC charging at up to 74 kW, with 30 to 80 per cent in about 20 minutes. BYD's Chinese page for the 2026 car also lists DiSus-C adaptive damping. The 1.5-litre engine carried over unchanged, and the body did not change. There has been no facelift, so body panels, glass and the tailgate fit cars from either side of the April 2026 change. Motors, battery packs, charging parts and dampers should be matched by OE number after checking the build date on the identification plate.

BYD Seal 6 DM-i Touring Parts: Frequently Asked Questions

How do I make sure a part fits my Seal 6 DM-i Touring?

Match the OE number. Every part on this site is listed under the OE number printed on the original part, and if the number on the part you are replacing matches the listing, the part fits. That check matters on this car because it shares a name, a wheelbase and many parts with the Seal 06 DM-i saloon, while the rear body, the battery and the charging hardware differ. If the old part is missing or its number cannot be read, send a photo through the quote form and we will reply within 24 hours, usually sooner.

What is the Seal 06 DM-i Touring Edition?

It is the estate version of the Seal 06 DM-i saloon, and it went on sale in China on 4 July 2025. It is a plug-in hybrid, with one electric motor driving the front wheels and a 1.5-litre petrol engine that mainly charges the battery. The body is 4,850 mm long on a 2,790 mm wheelbase. Outside China it is also sold as the Seal 6 DM-i Touring. Launch cars carry 10.08 kWh or 18.71 kWh packs, so match battery and charging parts by the OE number on the old part.

Do Seal 06 DM-i saloon parts fit the Touring?

Some do and some do not. The two cars share the 2,790 mm wheelbase and the 1.5-litre engine, but the estate is 20 mm longer, 15 mm wider and 10 mm taller, and the rear of the car is its own. The tailgate, its powered struts, the rear wiper and the roof rails do not come from the saloon. The long-range packs differ too, 18.71 kWh on the Chinese estate against 15.87 kWh on the saloon. Treat a saloon listing as a lead only, and order when the OE number on the old part matches.

Which battery does my Touring have?

It depends on the trim and the build date. Chinese cars built at launch in July 2025 carry 10.08 kWh on the 80 km trim and 18.71 kWh on the 150 km trims. Chinese 2026 models, on sale from 2 April 2026, carry 25.28 kWh or 34.27 kWh. The bodywork gives no clue, so read the build date on the identification plate and the OE number on the old part before ordering any battery or high-voltage part.

What changed with the 2026 model?

The Chinese 2026 model went on sale on 2 April 2026. Every version moved to a single 175 kW motor with 270 Nm, the packs grew to 25.28 kWh or 34.27 kWh, and BYD quotes DC charging at up to 74 kW. The 1.5-litre, 74 kW engine carried over. The body did not change, so a 2026 car looks the same as a launch car. For parts, the split falls on the motor, the battery, the charging hardware and their wiring. Read the build date on the identification plate and match those parts by OE number.

Does every Touring have a DC charging socket?

No. In China, the 80 km launch trim had no DC charging, while the 150 km trims did. Open the charging flap on the car before ordering a socket, inlet, cover or wiring loom, since a car without DC has nothing on that side to replace. Then match the part by the OE number on the old unit.

What tyre sizes does the Touring use?

Chinese launch data lists 225/55 R17 on the 80 km trim and 225/50 R18 on the 150 km trims. Wheels are sometimes changed during a car's life, so read the size on the sidewall of the tyres actually fitted before ordering tyres, rims or tyre pressure sensors. Order rims by OE number so that the offset and centre bore match the car.

Does the Touring carry a spare wheel?

Chinese specification data lists a puncture repair kit rather than a spare wheel, so there is no jack, wheel brace or spare wheel well to order parts for. The kit is a bottle of sealant and a small compressor. Sealant ages in the bottle, so check the date printed on it, and replace the bottle once it has been used. If the compressor fails, order a new one by the OE number on the unit. If you want to carry a spare, read the tyre size fitted first.

Are the rear brake discs ventilated?

Not on the Chinese launch cars. Every trim uses ventilated discs at the front and solid discs at the rear, and the 18-inch cars keep the solid rear disc, so a larger wheel does not mean a larger rear brake. Front and rear discs and pads are always different parts and should be ordered separately. If you are unsure what is fitted, look at the disc on the car, then match discs, pads and calipers by the OE number on the old part.

Does a plug-in hybrid still need oil and filters?

Yes. The 1.5-litre petrol engine charges the battery and can help drive the car, so it needs engine oil, an oil filter and an air filter, and in time timing and cooling parts, like any petrol engine. On a car that is charged every night the engine may run less often, but oil and filters still age with time. Follow the engine's service schedule rather than treating the car as fully electric, and order filters and service parts by OE number.

What should I check before fitting a towbar to the Touring?

The Touring shares its 2,790 mm wheelbase with the Seal 06 DM-i saloon, but the estate is 20 mm longer and the rear of the car is its own. A towbar, its electrics and its fixings must suit this body rather than the saloon, since the rear of the two cars differs. Check the towing figure in the car's handbook before hitching a trailer, and order towbar parts by OE number.

Which parts belong only to the estate?

The tailgate with its powered struts and drive, the rear wiper arm, blade and motor, and the roof rails with their feet exist only on the estate. Chinese launch data shows the power tailgate and the roof rails on every trim. None of these parts come from the saloon. If the tailgate will not open to its set height, check the struts and drive unit first, and order each part by side and by the OE number on the old part.
