Symptom Finder: Known Weak Points
| What you see or hear | Check first |
|---|---|
| Suspension warning or an unsettled ride on a War-God Edition | The DiSus-C dampers and their wiring. Check the connector before replacing a damper, and order by the OE number on the old unit, since a conventional damper from a 2022 car is a different part. |
| Brake judder, squeal or uneven pedal feel | Front pads and discs behind the Brembo four-piston calipers, and the solid rear discs. Order them for the DM-p by OE number, not from a Han DM-i listing. |
| Engine warning light while the petrol engine is running | Start with the lambda and emission sensors on the 1,497 cc turbo engine, the usual first suspects on any petrol engine, then match the sensor by OE number. |
| Whine or clunk from the rear under acceleration | The rear drive unit and the driveshafts to the rear hubs. This hardware exists only on the DM-p, so order it by OE number rather than from a front-drive Han. |
| Coolant warning or a falling coolant level | Coolant hoses, the expansion tank and the temperature sensors. The car cools an engine, two motors and a battery, so trace the leak to its circuit before ordering. |
| Parking sensor warning after a minor knock | The ultrasonic sensors in the bumper and their brackets. A bent bracket can trigger the warning on its own, so check it before ordering a new sensor. |
| Puncture with no spare wheel in the boot | No spare is fitted to this car. Order a replacement 245/45 R19 tyre, matching the load and speed rating on the sidewall of the tyre on the other side. |

About BYD Han DM-p Parts
The BYD Han DM-p is the all-wheel-drive plug-in hybrid version of the Han saloon, launched on 10 April 2022. It pairs a 1,497 cc turbocharged petrol engine and a 160 kW front motor with a 200 kW electric motor at the rear axle, and it reaches 100 km/h in 3.7 seconds. The car weighs 2,200 kg at kerb and sits on the same 2,920 mm wheelbase as every other Han of its generation. That shared body hides real differences underneath. The rear drive unit, the Brembo front brakes and, on the War-God Edition, the DiSus-C adaptive dampers are not found on the front-drive Han DM-i. The car therefore needs the oil, filters and sensors of a petrol engine as well as the motor, battery and damping hardware of a fast electric car. Every part on this page is listed by its OE number, and matching the number on the old part is the surest way to confirm a fit.
What to know before buying BYD Han DM-p parts
Start by making sure the car is a DM-p. It shares its bodyshell and 2,920 mm wheelbase with the front-drive Han DM-i, the Han EV and the original 2020 Han DM, and from the side they are hard to tell apart. The DM-p is the only one of these with both a 1,497 cc engine and a driven rear axle. Its 200 kW rear motor sits between the rear wheels. The quickest outward sign is behind the front wheels, where the DM-p carries Brembo four-piston fixed calipers.
The brakes are the next place a Han DM-i part will not simply fit. The DM-p has ventilated discs at the front and solid discs at the rear, with the Brembo calipers on the front axle. Match pads, discs and calipers to the DM-p by OE number rather than taking them from a front-drive Han listing.
The dampers split the model in two. The 2022 202KM AWD Flagship has conventional dampers, while the War-God Edition, sold from 18 May 2023, has DiSus-C. This is BYD's intelligent damping body control, which varies damping electronically, so its dampers are wired and are a different part. Both versions use MacPherson front and multi-link rear suspension. Read the build date on the identification plate, check for a connector on the damper, and match the OE number.
The engine does not cross over from the original Han DM. That car used a 2.0-litre turbocharged engine with a six-speed dual-clutch gearbox, while the DM-p uses the 1,497 cc turbo, engine code BYD476ZQC, with BYD's E-CVT hybrid drive. Timing, filter and sensor parts from the 2020 car will not suit.
A few details vary from car to car. Published battery capacities differ, with 37.5 kWh listed for the 2022 car and 36.01 kWh for the 2024 War-God, so order battery and high-voltage parts by OE number alone. Tyres are 245/45 R19 front and rear, and no spare wheel is fitted. Paint and trim also differ between editions. The War-God has black paint, matte black badges and window trim, and gold-yellow calipers, so order painted panels by the colour code on the car and trim by edition.
Finally, do not confuse the car with the Han L, launched in April 2025 on a 2,970 mm wheelbase and offered in its own DM-p form. It is a different, larger car, and its parts do not carry over.
Before You Order: 7 Checks
- Confirm the car is a Han DM-p and not a Han DM-i by looking for Brembo four-piston calipers at the front and a drive unit between the rear wheels.
- Match the OE number on the part you are replacing to the OE number on the listing, since that is the surest check that a part fits.
- Read the build date on the identification plate before ordering dampers, since War-God cars from 18 May 2023 use DiSus-C units.
- Check the build date before ordering seats, switches or cabin electronics, since the February 2024 update changed the cabin.
- Read the tyre size on the sidewall before ordering tyres, and expect 245/45 R19 on both axles.
- Order painted panels by the colour code on the car, and choose trim to suit the edition, since the War-God uses black badges and window trim.
- Order battery and high-voltage parts by OE number only, since published capacities for this car differ.
Generations and Facelifts
The Han DM-p replaced the original Han DM, which launched in July 2020 with a 2.0-litre turbocharged engine, a six-speed dual-clutch gearbox, a 145 kW rear motor and a 15.2 kWh battery. That car used the same Han body and 2,920 mm wheelbase that every Han of this generation shares.
In 2022 the Han range was facelifted, and the Han DM gave way to two plug-in hybrids: the front-drive Han DM-i and the all-wheel-drive Han DM-p. Pre-orders opened on 19 March 2022 and both went on sale on 10 April 2022. The DM-p came in a single version, the 202KM AWD Flagship, with a 1,497 cc turbocharged engine, a 160 kW front motor, a 200 kW rear motor and matte grey Brembo front calipers. Engine, gearbox and rear motor parts from the 2020 car do not suit it.
On 18 May 2023 the War-God Edition took the Flagship's place. It added DiSus-C damping body control, BASF black paint, carbon black wheels, matte black badges and window trim, and gold-yellow calipers. The powertrain did not change. For parts, the dampers are the key split, because cars from this date carry electronically controlled units.
In February 2024 the War-God was updated along with the rest of the Han range. The engine, motors and body stayed the same, and the changes were in the cabin: an electrically adjusted steering column with memory, a UWB digital key, 50 W wireless charging, massaging front seats, powered, heated and ventilated second-row seats, and the DiLink 100 infotainment system. Match seats, switches and cabin electronics by build date and OE number.
The Han L, launched on 9 April 2025, is a separate, larger car with a 2,970 mm wheelbase and its own DM-p version, not a later generation of this one.
BYD Han DM-p Parts: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I make sure a part fits my Han DM-p?
Match the OE number. Every part on this site is listed under the OE number printed on the original part, and if the number on the part you are replacing matches the listing, the part fits. That check matters on the Han DM-p because it shares a body with the front-drive Han DM-i and the Han EV, while its rear drive unit, front brakes and, on War-God cars, dampers are its own. If the old part is missing or its number is unreadable, send a photo through the quote form and we will reply within 24 hours, usually sooner.
How can I tell a Han DM-p from a Han DM-i?
The two share a 2,920 mm wheelbase and look very similar, so look underneath and behind the wheels. The DM-p drives its rear wheels with a 200 kW electric motor, so it has a rear drive unit and driveshafts to the rear hubs, which a front-drive DM-i does not. At the front, the DM-p carries Brembo four-piston fixed calipers, matte grey on 2022 cars and gold-yellow on the War-God Edition. Once you are sure which car you have, confirm each part by the OE number on the old one.
Do Han DM-i parts fit the DM-p?
Some do and some do not. Both use a 1,497 cc turbocharged engine and the same Han body, so some engine, body and trim parts may be common to both, but you should match each one by OE number rather than by model name. The rear drive unit and its parts exist only on the DM-p. The front brakes, with their Brembo four-piston calipers, should be ordered for the DM-p, and on War-God cars so should the DiSus-C dampers. Check the OE number on the old part before ordering anything from a DM-i listing.
Does every Han DM-p have DiSus-C suspension?
No. DiSus-C, BYD's intelligent damping body control, arrived with the War-God Edition on 18 May 2023. The 2022 202KM AWD Flagship, launched in April 2022, does not have it. The system varies damping electronically, so its dampers are wired and are a different part from the conventional dampers on the earlier car. Both versions use MacPherson front and multi-link rear suspension, but confirm arms and bushings by OE number as well. Read the build date on the identification plate, look for a connector on the damper, and order by the OE number on the old unit.
What brakes does the Han DM-p use?
The front axle has ventilated discs with Brembo four-piston fixed calipers, and the rear has solid discs. The calipers were matte grey on the 2022 car and gold-yellow on the War-God Edition from May 2023, and the caliper hardware did not change with the February 2024 update. Do not assume pads and discs from a Han DM-i listing will fit. Order pads, discs and calipers by the OE number on the parts you are replacing, and replace pads and discs across an axle as a pair.
Is the engine the same as the original 2020 Han DM?
No. The original Han DM, launched in July 2020, used a 2.0-litre turbocharged engine with a six-speed dual-clutch gearbox and a 145 kW rear motor. The DM-p that replaced it in April 2022 uses a 1,497 cc turbocharged engine, code BYD476ZQC, with BYD's E-CVT hybrid drive, a 160 kW front motor and a 200 kW rear motor. Engine, gearbox and rear motor parts from the 2020 car do not suit the DM-p. Read the OE number on the old part before ordering timing, filter or sensor parts.
What is the War-God Edition, and what did it change?
The War-God Edition, sometimes called the Ares Edition, replaced the 2022 Flagship on 18 May 2023. It added DiSus-C damping body control and a darker look: BASF black paint, carbon black wheels, matte black badges and window trim, and gold-yellow brake calipers, with yellow details on the door handles and side badges. The engine and both motors were unchanged, and the car still reaches 100 km/h in 3.7 seconds. For parts, the dampers and exterior trim differ from the 2022 car, so match them by OE number and order paint by colour code.
What changed in February 2024?
The War-God Edition was updated in February 2024 along with the rest of the Han range. The engine, motors and body did not change. The update was inside the cabin, adding automatic parking, an electrically adjusted steering column with memory, a UWB digital key, 50 W wireless phone charging, massaging front seats, powered, heated and ventilated second-row seats, rear multimedia controls and the DiLink 100 infotainment system. Seats, steering column parts, switches and cabin electronics can therefore differ either side of the change. Read the build date on the identification plate before ordering them.
What tyre size does the Han DM-p use, and is there a spare wheel?
The Han DM-p runs 245/45 R19 tyres on both axles, and no spare wheel is fitted. The 2022 202KM Flagship is listed at 360 kW combined motor output and the War-God Edition is quoted at 426 kW system output, so the load and speed ratings matter as much as the size. Read the full marking on the sidewall of the tyres fitted and match it. Replacing tyres in axle pairs keeps grip even from side to side. Check the size on the car before ordering, since an owner may have changed the wheels.
Which battery parts fit my Han DM-p?
The car uses a lithium iron phosphate battery, and its NEDC electric range is 202 km on the 2022 202KM Flagship and 200 km on the War-God Edition. Published capacity figures differ, with 37.5 kWh listed for the 2022 car and 36.01 kWh for the 2024 War-God, so do not order battery modules, cooling parts or high-voltage parts by capacity or model year. Order them by the OE number on the part you are replacing. If the number cannot be read, send a photo through the quote form and we will reply within 24 hours, usually sooner.
Is the Han L DM-p the same car?
No. The Han L went on sale on 9 April 2025 as a separate, larger model. It has a 2,970 mm wheelbase and a length of 5,050 mm, against 2,920 mm and 4,975 mm for the Han DM-p. In its own DM-p form it uses a 115 kW 1.5-litre turbocharged engine and a 29.4 kWh battery. Body, suspension, engine and battery parts from the Han L should not be expected to fit the Han DM-p. Check which car you have, then match each part by OE number.
It is a plug-in hybrid. Does it still need oil and filters?
Yes. The 1,497 cc turbocharged engine charges the battery and can drive the car, so it needs engine oil, an oil filter, an air filter and spark plugs, along with the lambda and emission sensors that any petrol engine has. A car that runs mostly on battery power still needs its engine serviced to the schedule in the owner's handbook. The rear drive unit has its own lubricant as well. Order service parts by the OE number on the old part, and ask through the quote form if a number is missing.
